That's pretty awesome nightc. I would like to see some of your guys'ssss worlds uploaded to the game. I'm kind of mad I read about the photosensor though because I spend enough time with this game in survival mode as it is. I haven't even messed with creative yet.
I haven't dabbled with the electronics yet but I have been creating ambient lighting effects by placing lanterns in the ground.
My goal is to upload the save once it's finished and let everyone know what the save name is. I won't post too many pictures just to make it a fresh experience for anyone that bothers to check it out. I'm still surprised though at just how tiny the saves are for this. MCE & Eden ate a lot of storage space really quick. This barely scratches the surface. Even with some pretty huge detailed maps downloaded (HogwartsNew & GIANT TOWN) the documents & data is under 50mb for all of my saves.
I just killed 2 bears with my fists. Then I died riding a horse, because it jumped on a 3 high ceiling. Well, lesson learned: Do not catch horses in cruel mode early game
I have died so many times because of the horses tight turning circle and stray leaves from trees I've felled decapitating me. Horses are almost a liability. I fear for my life every time I get on one ! I also specialise in leaping off unseen cliffs on horseback killing my horse. At least you get your saddle back
I've been building stuff in creative, but it takes so long to build. I need some dubstep or something, then I can build at the speed of the song, or wait until the drop and work super fast :3
I've been in creative as well, but to explore. Exploring caves is so fun. And the best part is that they're unlimited.
There should be an Achievement called 'Cliff Jumpers' Herd cattle off of a cliff. Now that'd be awesome.
didn't think to do that. Thanks for the tip. *** Tower on a hill done. I wanted to make a lighthouse, but my lighthouse didn't look like a lighthouse... I died from a height a few times building this thing, and it doesn't even look that high now that it's done, does it? A bear entered and attempted to climb the stairs to the top, I scared it away with a machete. It just ran away after I hit it a few times. I've only found two caves -- one not very deep, and another which I am looking forward to explore.
I've finally found the perfect place to build my creative world. I won't post any pictures, but I'll upload it when it's done. Or when most of it is done. I've decided on calling it 'Brunhelm, Kingdom of the Mountain lands. I plan to have a sewer system that pulls water from the ocean, as my kingdom is far from water well maybe I'll upload A screenshot. Soon.
I hate the fatigue as shown in that video. It's all downside and no upside. It's just going to mean stopping every so often to let the invisible stamina meter recharge. It already takes a long time to dig and build things in game, these things are literal timesinks (and grand ones). If I'm constantly getting steam train sounds, and nagging pop-ups, and the need to pause constantly, then I'm going to have to play on harmless which would suck in other ways. This is a game in which you can carry enough blocks to build a house in your pocket. I don't think getting tired walking up a hill adds anything at all. The need to sleep is going to be pointless too, slapping down a handful of dirt to sleep in shelter boxed in takes only a little time and is no challenge at all. Small things, but I hope Kaalus comes to his senses on this one. Hunger will be fine, that requires the gathering and production of food, which is both a goal and a fun thing to do. Periodically making a player waste 30 seconds sleeping, or standing still to recharge, adds nothing and cuts into my limited playing time. I want the world to be more dangerous, but this isn't the way to go about it.
I posted my comments on his blog. I might have come across a bit harsh, but I really don't like it in that video. I just don't want the core gameplay to possibly be damaged by these "improvements". And the panting, that alone would be so annoying.
@Parkingtigers - Water-filled tunnels in caves I found another one and took pictures this time! One side: Swimming through: Still swimming: Other side:
Well maybe this kind of stamina stuff could be added to Cruel, making its name worth it. Oh and maybe it should be where, if you're low on hunger, you'll start to notice since you slow down and stuff, and there won't be any notifications telling you you're hungry, you just have to remember to feed yourself on a daily basis.
