My kids all have 4th gen iPod touch systems (1 - 8 gig and 2 - 16gig). No issues at all. And that's without tweaking the graphics settings. ... Tonight I tried to show my youngest son the deep cave in my Richland save. I went to the bottom and it forked two directions. One was a deadend so I showed him the other and ran smack into a bear. I was VERY deep in this cave underground. My house is at the top of the mountain above this cave. I went as fast as I could but all of my items were gone. First time that happened. The bear was stil there so I went to the end of that path... ran into a second bear but it wasn't quick to attack like the one before. Nicely I made it back to the surface and back home, but honestly I think the game is plenty dangerous. Sharks, Bulls, bears, and wild bores are plenty. Spiders in MC and ended man were always such a pain to deal with. Especially when enderman would mess with what I had built. I'm all for a more dangerous mode with crocs and so on but id like the main survival mode left alone.
You can, just craft matches and light it up. Careful with matches though, only YOU can prevent forest fires.
Yep, I'm running it on ipad 2 with everything maxed out. It runs fine, you do get a rare hiccup in frame rate now and again but it's hardly noticeable.
And I'm running it on a Mini, which has the same guts as an iPad 2 and I have everything set to max with no problems. I can only get it to stutter if I am flying around in creative mode where loading in the world quickly becomes an issue. Running around in survival and I have seen zero issues in my hours of play. Which is still like goddamn witchcraft. How he got this running so well on mobile devices, and so rich in features, in such a short amount of time, while programming it for THREE different operating systems ... Get this game, this man deserves your money. Still having so much fun just caving and exploring. I haven't build diddly-squat yet, I'm just enjoying being in the world. So good. So very good.
I completely agree. It also shows how inefficiently programmed MCE is. ... Last night I played a little more of the game by downloading a texture pack as well as a couple of saves. Vegas was nothing, don't bother with it. The Big City one was just awesome though. It has tons of wolves and other animals and plenty of buildings and roads to take up arms in and fight. The Hogwarts one was cool as well. It had a huge pokemon stadium in it as well. It definitely shows what the game is capable of. It also shows the limit of the draw distance. I kind of hope that draw distance is improved for future versions over actually adding more content. That'll make building mega structures more impressive.
Gamezebo review = 2.5 out of 5 The usual "it's nothing but a Minecraft clone" review I posted this in the comments: I don't think this is a fair review. 1) My opinion is that Minecraft is just the most well known game in an upcoming genre. Just like FPS's share similar controls, mechanics, aesthetics, and themes, so does this new genre of block-based creative sandboxes. 2) Yes Minecraft on PC or 360 is superior to Survivalcraft but when compared to the Pocket Edition, Survivalcraft is superior and much closer to Minecraft proper, thanks to infinite worlds, electric tools like wires, buttons, and logic gates, horses and saddles, cave systems and caverns. 3) Survivalcraft also has a more realistic atmosphere. Rather than skeletons, zombies, and monsters, SC focuses on real species. Weather brings lightning that can burn down trees or strike you or animals. In the next update, the game will have more expansive survival features than Minecraft: need of a compass to find your way home rather than a magic map, lack of sleep causing blackouts, ability to get winded (stamina). 4) The developer constantly updates the game and adds content that the community has directly requested. For these reasons, I feel that Survivalcraft is the better game than Minecraft Pocket Edition. If you look at forums, the overwhelming consensus is that Survivalcraft is the game the Pocket Edition should have been
Read their review. The idiot clearly hasn't played the game at all, making absurd claims like how MCPE has features that SC doesn't. His only con? That its a clone? Lmafo.
Not a fair review at all , just look at all the work this fine gent has put into it . For the most part it beats the pants out of mcpe and is giving people what they want in a mobile version of MC.. It just makes the reviewer and the team working on mcpe look lazy . And kudos to you Bronx for the excellent retort to the obvious lazy cookie cutter review . He keeps basically comparing the game to MC and not mcpe , maybe I'm nuts but I don't have the option to play the full MC version on my iPod . So when you compare apples to apples lol you can see that SC is superior and in no way while looking at the two ( mcpe and SC) would you in anyway confuse which is which . This is why I don't pay any mind to 'professional' reviews . Hey, you can craft matches ???
Awful review. He says the SC is almost a perfect clone of Minecraft and then questions why anyone would bother paying 50% less for it compared to PE!
What annoys me is the prevalent misuse of the term "clone". As the reviewer said, "The fact of the matter is that Survivalcraft is a blatant clone of Minecraft..." No, it's not a clone. A clone is Ninja Fishing compared to Radical Fishing. It's The Blocks Cometh compared to Halfbot's version. It's Skyfar compared Vlambeer's Luftausers. Those are clones. If SC is a clone, then Medal of Honor and Battlefield 3 are clones of Call of Duty 4. Or Midnight Club is a clone of Need for Speed. Or Tekken is a clone of Street Fighter. But they're not. One's just a modern FPS, a street racer, an arcade fighter. They're part of a genre. They share similar controls, mechanics, visual designs, but have their own unique style Now if SC had fantasy monsters and bows and swords and some electric powder, I'd label it a blatant clone as well. But it doesn't and it's not. (Okay, my rant is over )
That's amazing logic, I should totally refer to their reviews before making a decision... Bottom line, this game is an awful clone of Minecraft, Kaalus needs to pull his finger out and get rid of at least half the features in his game before anyone could consider it a clone. One of the worst clones I've ever seen.
Eh, reviewers aren't gamers... yet another example. If MCE was as good as MC full, we all wouldn't get quite so excited over someone taking the initiative to just make what the big boys won't. At least this was compared to the full edition of MC... as it's closer to that than it is to MCE. ... Anyway, played a little today. I made a flat world with the intention of building a city. First building was a basic light house. As I was building it though I intended on figuring out the whole deal with electric wiring, lights and so on. The end result took a lot more work than I figured, but I learned quite a bit. Since I'm on a PC right now and the TA App on my iphone never lets me upload a picture... here's a shot of it. Note the light above the door. That took some thinking, though it was one of the last lights I added.
Nice looking lighthouse. I know what you mean about the app, I frequently have issues, but it does work for me now (mostly) maybe give it another shot. I've yet to muck about with electrics, looks complex. I believe there's a detailed thread about it on the SC forums.
I've tried it many times over the past several revisions. It's never worked from my iphone. No big deal though, I can always post from pc and I've even been able to post many images at once where as others were limited to one pic per post. ... Anyway, thanks. I was inspired by the City map online. Pretty cool stuff. I think with the photo diode I could make some dusk till dawn street lights... but I want to figure out the logic gates to make something more complex like a sign that lights up or make some street signals with the red & green leds.
We need to have the ability to paint the wood half blocks and stairs as right now I am using those to make furniture. Anyone else try to fill a large hole with water yet? I built a pool last night and it took me 2 hours to get it filled and stay calm. I had beautiful marble stairs down into the pool and as soon as the water hit them it smashed them to pieces LOL, I had to use full blocks as the stairs are too weak to hold the water. The pool is beautiful now and as I was taking a dip I was startled as I turned around to find two wolves as pool guests taking a dip with me. Thank god I'm playing on creative. I am just having too much fun with this game.
