Know what you mean. It's funny. MCPE was my first MC experience so I thought it was amazing, the world felt big. Then we finally got a 360 and I played that version and suddenly the mobile version felt like shit.

I'm loving SC, although I'm kind of at loss at what to do now. I got a nice wooden house built and a bridge to my mining area and that's about it. Haven't ventured out yet, kind of attached to my house and don't want to get lost.

By the way, is there a way to sprint?

Tried the fanver mod 3 HD 1.21 pack and it looks amazing . I never really pay attention to the TA guys anyways , I get a more complete and unbiased picture from the forum members .

In general I trust the average community over professional reviewers. Especially for games. So many console and IOS games I've enjoyed have been trashed or called mediocre by critics but praised by communities. A critic review is a single snapshot. What's on these forums is a collage.

Same here, it was a godsend to finally see what all the fuss was about as I'd never played the original "main" product. I had great fun making a labyrinth of hedges, tunnels and weird little rooms whilst my gf ran around the same map with me helping out or doing her own thing. Hit the edge of the world and though "so what" there's plenty of from to do stuff.

Problem was, after a while it just felt soulless and lacking, needed more of everything (which in a sense is a good sign, if you want more of something, it generally means its good). I've been tempted recently to get a 360 just to play MC lol, I imagine its a whole different ball game and even SC cannot compete. But I feel on this platform we have a clear champion. Would you recommend the full fat MC experience?

I know what you mean, the fear of getting lost does prohibit venturing too far without getting stressed. However, I think so long as you have slept once in your house you will respawn there should you get lost and die/kill yourself. On the other hand it's quite cool to be able to truly get lost as I feel it adds to that survival ambience, and gets you thinking about it as a challenge. Laying roads, noting the sun position, building landmarks or even drawing a map are possible solutions.

I started out with a quick hole in a mountainside to get through the night, turned that into a multi story abode and have been slowly expanding it in every direction since, with courtyards, towers and spires, roads, bridges, lakes, tunnels, cave entrances, monuments, crypts and catacombs, mazes etc. I think if youre ataloss right now; perhaps instead of trying to find something to do just go with the flow and autonomously dig somewhere and tidy it up, find a cool way to make it relate to what's done already.

Main fun for me so far has been squeezing as much detail and as many ideas into as little space as possible, making the most of every block, which will be an ever present and ongoing challenge and pleasure for me. Hopefully a few members here will have something substantial to share soon, mine is nowhere near ready yet, but it's on my mind to get it out there once its reached a certain stage.

    Don't think you can sprint...

Elegantly put, and I share the same views. I do however get irked by the potential damage such reputable sources can cause by producing negative impressions from apparent sloppy or poor research and careless throwaway remarks.

I'd like to think that most aren't susceptible to this potential problem, and mentally filter out the nonsense when deciding whether to take the plunge and buy, but you never know...

The effort shows. Don't know how long you've been playing but your structures look really impressive

Regarding Minecraft, I haven't played the PC version, only the MCPE and the 360 version.

I absolutely love the 360 version. The world isn't infinite but when you're on foot, it's more than large enough. Plus there are tons of enemies; structures like strongholds, mine shafts, and underground prisons; villages with NPCs; a nice variety of large biomes.

Best part is the exploration of course. I'm in college right now so I haven't played as much I'd like, but here's my most memorable moment so far. So I've built my nice house but need more ore. So not far from my house I notice a cave entrance into a mountain. I meticulously pack my inventory with everything I need for an extended underground trip and begin my journey.

I enter the cave and am instantly greeted by a huge pit into the mountain. Using sand as a scaffold, I work my way down and set up base camp. I explore the nearby tunnels, clear them out, and seal them up. Now I think I'm pretty deep underground...but then I turn a corner and nearly fall into a massive massive underground ravine that I can barely see the bottom of, thanks to the illumination of a lavafall and lava lake at the bottom. I move camp and begin the treacherous journey down.

So yeah 360 Minecraft is totally worth it. Oh, and it has split screen multiplayer so you and your GF could play together.

My 360 bit the dust again (RROD) and it was past the extended warranty . I'm really surprised they haven't ported the full fat MC version to the PS3 . I'd check that out for sure , but the pocket version just seems kind of lame .

I do think this developer is going to just going to keep making SC better and better . Full fat lol , you from the UK smartbomb ?

The pc version is way better than the 360 version. Wayyyy better. Basically it boils down to: PC>360>PE. Survivalcraft is on par with the PC version. (They both have their strengths and weaknesses.)

Am I right to take that as you saying SC is better than MC on 360?

This is a game that just keeps on giving, I thought I'd never bother with creative but I just started a new world in that mode so I have one survival and one to just build care free. It's so much quicker, I knocked out a fuggin great big bridge very quickly. I can see the appeal of both modes.

Also, I figured out a way to leave your mark on a world should you choose to upload it. I started my new world using my handle "Daftbomb" as the seed. Given that you cannot edit or alter a seed, it stands to reason that even if you upload your world and someone uploads an edited/unedited version, your name will still be locked to that world.

    Just a thought.

I guess there's also the fact you cannot stick a 360 in your pocket... So there's that

I just saved a handful of cash by deciding not to buy a Microsoft product (again). Win. I'm sure I'd enjoy MC on a console, but the freedom of having a world in the palm of your hands anywhere runs rings round a few hours sat in front of a tv.

Probably not been very obvious from my posts so far, but I fu*king love this game. I may as well clear the rest of my apps off this iPad... They're just not getting a look in.

It's funny reading this thread with all the newly Minecraft(a-like) addicted people on here.

Welcome to my world, I've been addicted to the PC version for 3 years now.

I would've have really gotten into Minecraft, but the problem with pc game is one has to sit down at a pc to play it; just don't have the time for that sadly. Same with consoles. So this is just awesome.

What are the chances of all these awesome features making its way to SC?
I'm liking the game so far but.... meh, seems a little empty. All I've found after hours of exploring is animals, snow, mountains, rivers, and a couple of empty caves. I'd really like it to feel more alive with volcanoes, crypts, ruins, abandoned villages etc.

Just did that. This was an easy week for me since this game is just so dang awesome.

Talk about a mc-a-like actually living up to and exceeding the hype for once. No major performance issues or anything negative to report. It's just good survival fun. My youngest son did a creative save and had a lot of fun with it and he's a big MC (both PE and PC).

I played this for a couple hours (actually too many) last night. I like how the trees are a little like the early versions of MC:pE lite where the leaves are harvested like any other block. I was able to use them to make a nice wall around my little home. I started a small mine on my property and made a little coal with wood and a furnace so I could make a few torches. Very satisfying game. I LOVE LOVE LOVE how you can opt to go to sleep anywhere without needing a bed. Such a nice treat rather than trying to survive through those first nights by just hiding and waiting.

As much as I'm enjoying SC, I don't think it can compare to MC 360. Ignoring split screen and online multiplayer, there's just more "game" in general.
Myriad enemies, exploring the Nether and the End, finding strongholds and prisons, messing with NPCs, just more and bigger biomes, armor and enchanting.
On mobile, SC is unmatched but MC 360 is the better gaming experience

I'd love to try proper MC , but my desktop is crap and my laptop is broken . I also like my PS3 better than my old 360. I can't figure for the life of me why MC isn't on the PS3 , it would be way more sales for them ( notch and co.)

Anyways I'm enjoying the heck out of this game :)
