If you're using the TouchArcade app, when posting a reply to a thread click on the [ Add an attachment ] "button" below the Message: text box, from there you can upload an image from phot library by using the "choose existing" option. Once it's uploaded click return to post to complete your message. Doesn't always work for me though, it's a fussy app at times. Anyhow, here's a random pic of my world...
I don't see an add attachment option when I use the app on my touch ? And another ? I know there is no multiplayer , but is there a way to visit other people's worlds ? Also on a side note I downloaded the mcpe free app to just try it out and I didn't like the way the world looked - too small and it didn't really feel like a 'world' . Also I made my first iron tools and they rock !
Technically you can visit other people's worlds. On the main menu go to 'get content', then 'community', then filter to just search 'worlds'. You download the creation you want, then choose to 'visit' (play) it from the single player menu.
I haven't got a touch to see where/if the option is, sorry bout that. Hopefully TA didn't neglect their more mobile customers that way, maybe someone else knows? Yeah, it's a shame you can't play together in a world, my gf and I enjoyed building together in MCPE, so that would've been amazing in this game. Thankfully sharing is available, from the main menu click get content to download other people's worlds and texture packs. If you haven't gotten a texture pack yet, I highly recommend both ModernHD 1.21 and Fanver Mod v3. Here's hoping Kaalus adds in an easier way to browse the community content section. Better still. Maybe he can at least add in local multiplayer a la MCPE. That'd be bitchin'. Too small lol, at first I was just glad to have MC on my iPad, but once you reach those boundaries it kinda makes the place feel small. My world is getting close to 8mb now on SC... Can't stop building
Again I would mention Atlantide as the best texture so far. It's not ultra realistic which I kind of like but it's more detailed than the normal.
Just tried it, quite different from the usual fare, has quite a cold colour tone. It's great there's so many textures to try out, I like the feudal Japanese feel of Rustic and the tertiary richness of ModernHD. Yet to try mylittlepony pack, or the entirely pink one...
Just picked this up after reading some of the thread and my kids mentioning a lot of their friends play this and I have to say I'm impressed. I play minecraft on PC and enjoyed the ios version as well as several other mc like games. So far I really can't believe how amazing this is.
I assume you mean new block textures? All you do is on the main menu go to 'get content', then 'community', then filter to just search 'block textures'. You download the pack you want, then go to the settings menu, either from the main menu or in game, and press 'block textures', and it'll list the ones you have available. Press the one you want, press 'activate' and hey presto!
Playing together would be ultra cool, but it still seems like it would be fun to roam around someone else's world . And no I haven't tried another texture pack yet . lol I think the default looks pretty cool but I'm going to try one of the ones you recommended
http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=159739 If you are not on ios6, it seems you might not have access to that feature.
Absolutely love sneak mode, when building towering landmarks and walls, I hadn't realised it stopped you falling off the edge. It's made it so much easier to make these buildings without frequently plummeting to a certain death. Anyone else stumbled upon a useful or cool feature recently? And c'mon lets see some more of your vistas anyone found a seed with unusual landscapes? I saw one with a floating network of caves that looked like Swiss cheese...
Weird. I'm on the latest ios with the most current version of the ta app and its right under the box when typing up a reply or using the quote button for a reply, but before the submit reply button. Most of the time it doesn't work for me to add attachments that way. Also there's a size limit too. It's worked fine from my PC though... Even let me upload a batch of pics. ..... Back on topic, this game rocks. It's weird how the TA guys were all negative on it in the podcast this week. Sometimes they seem so out of touch with gamers. This thing is easily the best minecraft like game on ios. I own the real PC version and the horses and stuff are in the snapshot for the next version, to my knowledge they aren't in the current release yet and injust confirmed that with my kids who are on top of all of the minecraft stuff. So this is actually ahead of minecraft (not talking mods) the full game in many ways. Whatever the case considering how weak the ios version of mc is, and I own it and loved it, I have nonissue throwing a few bucks at something this far superior. I'm still astonished considering how Mojang said the hardware was a big problem with unlimited worlds, yet this is just so much more.
I got kinda fed up with them, they stated they weren't interested in developing the PE for PS Vita and all their talk of hardware limitations now seems laughable, their barebones product for tablets and phones seems like an afterthought and there just doesn't feel like there's any drive to support their app and make it legendary like they probably could. On its own merits, PE is good, but knowing where it's come from, it just feels half assed and if they haven't the motivation or passion to shout about their product (at least it has seemed that way to me) it makes it hard for me to get all enthusiastic about them. They hit the top charts, and it just feels like they don't need to bother, job done, even if it isn't close to what they can achieve. One of the reasons Kaalus has my respect and support for his product, he genuinely seems to give a shit. And for me that matters. The comments above aren't meant to pass off as fact, just my feelings about this particular subject.
