Yes, this game is still in alpha stage (like MCPE) so new thing are added all the time based on ppl requests. btw i made some icons: http://survivalcraft.lefora.com/2013/04/30/survivalcraft-custom-icons/#post0
I'd like to change my review a bit. When you die and it says "your items will remain where you died for a short while" they really F****** mean a short while. I literally made it back to where I died in 30 seconds and my stuff was gone. I'm extremely p***** now, because I had an entire mining trip worth of sulphur (at least 30) malachite (more than 2 stacks) and some germanium. Not to mention the Iron tools I had made and didn't even get to use. It's turning into to minecraft PE all over again, get really far then one day your chests are all empty or your world deletes. Ugh, I really hope these bugs don't happen more frequently.
Cool, thanks How about my other questions? Is this really worth the 3.99? Like I said, I'm torn between saving for upcoming games or supporting an indie dev whose MC clone is a better MC than the offical thing Also, anything to explore or find in the caverns, is there lava, and can you tame animals? And finally where would I provide the dev with suggestions?
i did not answer to this because You can find answers in this thread but i can say this again: i dont play MCPE since i discovered this app and that was a couple months ago MCPE is a JOKE for me comparing to SC. In cavers u can find only bears and ores right now, there is lava and u can tame only horse and camel. First post. also guys please chceck out my electric devices http://survivalcraft.lefora.com/2013/02/07/100-leds-10x10-display-with-up-to-10-frames-animat/#post1 http://survivalcraft.lefora.com/2013/02/13/digital-password-door-lock/#post1 http://survivalcraft.lefora.com/2013/02/16/digital-pin-number-lock/#post1 sorry 4 my english
I've been playing the 'mine craft map' and it is amazing. Deep deep caves with intertwinned lava and water falls / areas, NPC village and there is also a stronghold. I wonder if somehow we can convert a PC MC world to work in this... Generate in on the PC and Dropbox / transfer it in?
The only "monster" right now is a werewolf, which is what a regular wolf turns into at night/full moon. The rest of the hostile mobs are natural creatures like bears, bulls, boars, wolves and sharks. It's currently a more realistic "stranded survivor" setting than Minecraft in that respect. It's Lord of the Flies rather than Lord of the Rings. No mobs attack or destroy blocks right now, there are no creepers blowing up your builds, or zombies breaking through doors. Only time will tell what direction the dev will take the game though.
"Use a saddle to ride horses and camels". OK. Walking up to beautiful white horse with saddle* Mounted "oh cool, I'm riding. A HO WHOA!!!!" Kicks me off* "Lemme try again...wait, my saddle is gone. Lets kill some animals and get more leather" Makes saddle and mounts horse* Gets kicked off again*. "Ok, maybe a white horse is too high if a level for me, maybe I should get a plain brown horse, maybe they're easier to mount" There's a brown horse! Mount* Gets killed because horse bucked too much* WHAT THE F***!!!!?? How do I ride a horse?! That's twice now I've listened to the game and died because of it. Somebody please help me, I'm starting to regret this game. It's so awesome but so f****** irritating at the same time.
This game is absolutely worth $4. It has some rough edges, but the main part of the game really looks and feels like playing mid-beta desktop version Minecraft. MCPE, by comparison, is like playing very early alpha version desktop Minecraft. There are lava flows in the caves, and the caverns themselves can get quite large. They don't look as big as current Minecraft caverns which get crazy big, but they certainly compare to beta-period Minecraft caves. MCPE has zero caves, and likely won't get them for months. SurvivalCraft has nothing lurking in those caves other than the occasional bear right now, there isn't the same "fight back the darkness" feel in desktop Minecraft, but again, this is early in development and while it's not as full featured as "real" Minecraft, it's a million times better than the glorified tech demo that is MCPE. I'm deleting MCPE from my device, and will likely never install it again. This is a replacement for that app. I spent 90 minutes earlier running away from wolves, throwing spears at bears, and starting to colonize a little cave in a mountainside. The quality of the graphics, the look and feel of the game ... I cannot stress this enough, it really does look and feel like it's an earlier version of PC Minecraft rather than a mobile game. I highly recommend you seek out the YouTube channel run by the dev Kaalus. Shows off lots of the features. Combat is really horrible right now, but I'm fine with running away from things, which fits the "stranded survivor" motif. Making traps for the bears and wolves, and throwing spears at them, seems like a nice change from making a stone sword and flailing at zombies that walk towards me trying to bump me. The electric system in this game is superior to redstone (though needs pistons), and I'm looking forward to making some fancy lighting setups. I honestly feel that if the dev keeps up the rate of development that this could end up being a clone that outdoes the original, especially if he avoids just copying everything Minecraft does. I like the suggestion someone earlier said, about having dinosaurs and lost tribes and civilizations. That would be far preferable to the faux fantasy world of Minecraft. But anyway, buy this game, delete MCPE, and have fun digging holes and building stuff.
I think the sneak/fly button on the right of the screen turns into a "mount" button when you get close to a saddled horse. Tapping on the horse directly just hits it. Edit: Oh wait, I misunderstood. I'm not sure why they are bucking you off. Check out the videos on Kaalus' YouTube, he shows how to summon and use horses there. Might answer your question.
Yeah I read that, then when I did it, I got on the horse and he kicked me off. Got kicked off twice, then the second horse I stayed on and he just kept hurting me somehow and I died. He kept bucking until I died.
Maybe it's not recognizing the saddle for some reason. In his "cowboy life" video Kaalus shows that riding a horse without a saddle will get you bucked off and hurt, and says you need a saddle to do if properly. If you are putting a saddle on and it's still having that effect, it may be a bug that needs fixing. Without excusing that, it's worth remembering that Minecraft also breaks a couple of things in every update too (it rains zombies in the latest PC version), so it's always three steps forward, one step back in these games. Might be worth avoiding horses for a while, focus on something else.
Didn't know that. Cool, so it's a more realistic survival game. Question: I saw this has electricity. Can I make elevators and drawbridges So I'm going to email the dev these suggestions (don't actually have the game so tell me if any of these are already in). Can I get your opinions before I send? Biomes - Plains - Tundras - Rocky cliffs/mountains - Desert dunes - Swamp/marshland Wildlife Hostile: - Mountain lions (forest/snowy/plains) - Jaguars/Tigers (jungle) - Rattlesnake (desert/forest) - Anaconda (jungle) - Insect swarms (caverns/desert/forest/swamps) - Rats (all except snow/desert) - Bats (caves/swamp/forest) - Croc/Alligator (Aquatic) - Eels (Aquatic) - Squid (Aquatic) - Dwellers (Descent-like humaniods in deep caverns) Not hostile: - Bison (plains) - Flamingo (jungle) - Fox (forest/plains) - Swans/owls/eagles (all except caverns) - Deer (forest/plains) - Rabbit (forest/plains) - Mountain goat (mountains) - Wild dogs (all except caverns) - Dolphins (Aquatic) - Schools of fish (Aquatic) Additions - Ability to pen, breed, herd, tame certain animals (wild dogs, bison if they were added) - Some kind of lightning rod tool (allows you to direct lighting strikes during thunderstorms) - Weather conditions like thick fog and blizzards - Crossbow (spear/bow upgrade) Don't know if these additions would even be possible on the IOS platform, but they would be cool
But I want a horsey, lol. Seriously tho, yeah I understand that these games get weird bugs...but why is it always when it's something I'm trying to do? Haha. That's the second one I've had happen in my 4 hours of play. :'(
I'd recommend you actually get the game first, see what's there then think about what would benefit from being added. Honestly I think most of that stuff would come in later anyway. He's been adding in more animals that fit the existing biomes, so having more biomes and more creatures themed for those area is a no-brainer. As to your electricity question, you can't move blocks yet as there are no pistons. Again, I fully expect those at some point as I imagine everyone wants to move things around and make machine just like in Minecraft. The electrical system appears to be far superior to Redstone though. (Disclaimer: I am bad at Redstone) You have logic gates that take up a single block, that can be wall-mounted and rotated, as opposed to needing to to make hugely bulky redstone wiring to achieve the same effect in MC. Also wires can be placed on vertical surfaces too. So the electrical system isn't as complete as Minecraft yet, but what parts have been made so far are better. This bodes well for the future.
Awesome game. Worth every single penny. I just can't decide for which texture pack i will go for... btw, #4 in German AppStore/Top-Charts/paid MCE is #15 Well deserved
