I have over 1000 games on GC. All I'm saying is, I remember back when all you guys did was review games. There have been a lack of reviews within the past few years. But you had your review ready for premium game like crash lands. I had to wait maybe 2 months for a review for CDDA. Obvious reasons why I understand. The fan base isn't that big. But seeesh. How many writers you have working for you? Eli ᕕ┌◕ᗜ◕┐ᕗ Staff Member Patreon Silver Patreon Gold Feb 28, 1983 1,269,049 49 48 Barcelona http://elihodapp.com/ #13 Eli, Jan 28, 2016 A better question would be how many writers do I have working for me that would even remotely enjoy a game like this, and that would be one writer who splits his time between TouchArcade, another site, as well as being a full time teacher and father. The Cataclysm review saw fewer than 3,000 unique visitors with a 75% bounce rate (~2,250 people instantly hit the back button). For a site that gets millions of hits a month, that tells me that people on the front page largely aren't interested in those kind of games. I wish we had limitless resources to review everything, but that simply isn't the reality we live in. As I mentioned in another thread, we have to pick our battles and that means being as intelligent as possible with regards to where we spend our writer budgets. With us barely being half way to our Patreon goal over six months after launching it, we have to be hyper-analytical about where every hour of time that we're paying for is going to survive. If this is a game you're passionate about, I recommend leaving some detailed impressions in our forums here to get other people in our community excited for it. If this thread had a bunch of people talking about the game, prioritizing reviewing it would be a no brainer. As is we have you complaining that we're not reviewing it and other people pointing out that the icon looks like a cock and balls. Nothing about this thread says to me, "Man this game is super hot in our community we need to drop what we're doing and cover it." With regards to our review output, I just took a quick look at historical data and it seems on average our review output is continuing to increase as more games are released on a weekly basis on the App Store. What you're seeing as us reviewing fewer games is actually us being able to realistically review a smaller percentage of the number of games which are released, which has also drastically increased. In the end, if you want to see the games you like getting more coverage, focus more on getting other people excited for them instead of just instantly dropping negativity bombs. That's not a great way to get people interested in something you care about, instead, it just riles up the "Yeah! TouchArcade sucks!" crew which honestly is the last group of people I'm interested in going out of my way to satisfy. Has anyone tried running the first Supra RPG recently using iOS 9, specifically 9.0.2? I tried downloading and it installed fine but crashes back to home screen whenever I try to run it. Anyone else getting this? Really like the look of it but would rather give the first one a punt if I can before committing to purchasing this one. As a former Editor-in-Chief at Gamereactor I feel your pain having to read the negative stuff, while trying the best to juggle limited resources! The site is awesome, and if this game is awesome, people should (and as Crashlands shows, will) write about it. As far as this game goes, I am looking forward to some impressions from the readers, untill then I'll be too busy playing Crashlands to throw money at any other game. But I am guessing even these happy days with Crashlands will end. Not to derail this thread, but I wonder, as I am not really into Patreon (yet), how many ads would an average user have to click/respond to, or use affiliate links to App store as to make it viable business to run TA? Maybe that's an article for another day. panfried Well-Known Member Oct 2, 2013 101 1 18 #17 panfried, Jan 29, 2016 I can confirm that my iPhone 5s on ios 9.2.1 also crashes when opening Supra 1, too bad because it is the perfect demo version of Supra 2. My biggest gripe with this game is how short it is. Honestly, you can beat it in less than a day, maybe a couple of good hours. That being said there are three save slots and 4 classes to choose from so there is "replayability". Even when choosing a class you are not limited to only that classes skills though, you can put skill points into any skill you have unlocked. I think it only changes how you look. The biggest improvement over Supra 1 is now monsters can drop random loot, it is not just found in treasure chests. Bosses drop unique items so replaying levels over again to get special gear is something I did a couple times. There is a smith to upgrade gear to the next higher tier, ie 0 enchantments to 1 - 1 to 2 etc, and you can also sell junk gear there. With your money you can buy treasure chests with random loot in it as well. I like Supra 1 and Supra 2, I would give them a 4 out of 5. Don't expect next gen graphics, obviously, but just have fun exploring the levels. I wish it was cheaper though for how short it is. ZS77 Well-Known Member May 8, 2015 566 2 18 #18 ZS77, Jan 29, 2016 Thanks for the impressions and for taking the time to check if it crashes panfried, really appreciate it. I'm not concerned by the graphics - rogue, CDDA anyone?! - providing the gameplay is there. I might need to re-read the Devs description, I had assumed it was more of a replayable roguelike/RPG grinder type affair. If I'm honest, I'm a bit put off by the lack of longevity despite the replayable characters. I'm the type that either needs a gripping and lengthy yarn or a decent explore and character development type of game mechanic to keep me interested. Might save this one for when it's in a sale then or if Dev promises more content at some point in the future. The last blog entry on his website says he was planning a final update of the first game to coincide with the release of the second? Maybe it's still to come and hopefully fixes the crashing on iOS 9 - would be nice if the Dev could let us know? Thanks Evasleipa Member Jul 10, 2014 9 0 0 #19 Evasleipa, Feb 12, 2016 Supra RPG I & Supra RPG II and beyond Hello! I'm the developer of this game and I'm glad to answer any questions you have. This is obviously badly informed as the idea is to give better chance (and quality) to get items on the game. I will look into this and make the endgame possibilities more visible. I am indeed planning on submitting a final package for the original Supra RPG I. I'm glad that you informed the bug with iOS 9, something I was completely unaware of. I will look into problem and send a patch with the final content added. I plan to release additional content for Supra RPG II too. The idea is to send an update by the end of this month for Supra RPG I and Supra RPG II. Supra RPG I's content would be more of an "more of everything" -update, while Supra RPG II would continue with the story. Both of these updates will obviously be free.
