Even attempting to answer that would kinda really ruin the spirit of the game. I recommend exploring the game fully once you have it. Nope. They are the same, except one version fits in your pocket.
Info posted here actually lowered a lot my expectations for this one. That might be good in the end... maybe it surprises me in a good way.
Yeah, there is no doubt that there is a HUGE amount of hype going on, which may leave some people feeling the game was lackluster. Amazingly, despite all that hype, it met my expectations. I find it to be a masterpiece. But, opinions on games are like opinions on everything in life, right? Subjective. Just try to approach it with an open mind. Don't expect it to reinvent the wheel.
Good. That's cool. Sorry, I'm not trying to sound negative at all. It really is a GREAT game. I just wonder if maybe some of the more negative reviews and opinions are happening because they expected it to be something that redefines gaming as we know it. It may come close to doing that for some people (me) but not others. Ya know?
This review does not make it seem like an interactive movie but a real game.. http://gizmodo.com/#!5787281/sword--sworcery-ep-the-indie-game-thats-taking-the-ipad-by-sworm I mean they talk about puzzles and punch-out like combat sequences and sword fighting..if its just basically a QTE type game then that will totally suck for me. I was hoping for a lot more.
It's super difficult to classify without playing it yourself. It's, um, all those things you mentioned and more? An artistic musical exploration movie puzzle combat game type thing that will invite you to use your intellect, created with a truck load of finesse, maybe? Trust me, it's awesome!
Jim Guthrie's Sword & Sworcery LP - The Ballad of the Space Babies is available now. http://itunes.apple.com/ca/album/sword-sworcery-lp-the-ballad/id428028469 http://jimguthrie.bandcamp.com/album/sword-sworcery-lp-the-ballad-of-the-space-babies http://www.superbrothers.ca/teletex025.html ---
I heard some of the music (didnt want to spoil this too much, thanks itunes!!!), and its really good. Just for that, first day buy
What has been amazing me since the LP release is; you look at the art (screenshots) of S&S and they are rad and kind of invoke their own internal response. Then you listen to the album, and it does that as well in its own unique way. Then you put the art and sound together in an app and get this wicked third experience, which is again, totally amazing and unique. It's really crazy how well the S&S team worked together creatively. They really played phenomenally off each others strengths. Fantastic work fellas.
The countdown for the iPhone release has begun. They say on their website that its going to be released this month, so its probably only 3 weeks till release.
Sat and listened at half the album. Liked it. Now listening to the rest, Still like it, so i bought it. Don't feel like it's spoils the game. Just because I listen to the music doesn't mean I know anything about the game or the content ^^
Yes it spoils it. Whenever you play the game you will be singing along and you will know when the action will happen, when something weird will come along just by reading the music. I am a big fan of Games OST (Modern Warfare 2, Crysis 2 to name some of the best) and it always does this. God I love good game OSTs.
You should listen to Halo Reach and Halo 3 OST, has some really good sounds in it. Anyway, No still don't think it spoils, Most games don't use the OST straight of, they change it somehow, so e.g. you don't have do finish the mission in 5 min sense that's how long the song is. I'm not in to this kind of game for the "action" i'm in it for the experience. And often in games, the music changes before the "action" happen, so you will know anyway. Besides its really not much "action" in the music, so I don't think I'll have to worry Oh and I'v bin "oh so careful" with spoilers. Haven't read or watched anything that contains them. Wouldn't just listen to the OST if I thought it would spoil anything. So all you fellas out there that's hesitating about listening to The LP, you really don't have to hesitate. (But maybe that's just me Btw, the rest of Jim Guthrie music is good, will prob buy it.
Do you think the iPhone version cause another Twitter storm? All the updates in my feed were making me nuts!
