Is your reasoning behind why it's not so bad anything beyond "I want to play it now?" Not releasing with max compatibility is terrible for sales, there's not really any way to argue against that.

If the game is really good, it will sell regardless. Adding an update for older devices will increase the anticipation after all the good reviews and videos. Than once they add the update no one will hesitate. It could go both ways, with them failing.

"I heard this game is good, it won't run on my phone but I'm buying it anyway!"

How many people have you seen ever say that around here?

A bunch thats true. But still as more and more gameplay videos pour in and good reviews people become excited, they might combine 1.0 and 1.1 to be bigger than the one month wait than 1.0 with all generations.

There is no doubt, the wait for S:S&S EP has been (and still is) brutal. I do feel a bit for those that might have to wait an additional month. However, you might consider this:

The iPad 2 is being announced tomorrow. This will surely mean a glut of first gen iPads will hit the used market. Perhaps you could pick up a reasonably priced first gen? I realize it would be pretty difficult to justify that kind of purchase for a single game, but it actually is a pretty neat device that is capable of a lot more than gaming. The extra real estate is much easier on the old eyeballs to boot. Just a thought... :)

1st and 2nd gen people really gotta update their devices. I mean come on they are a few years old.

Maybe you need to stop being selfish. There's a recession going on in the UK so not everyone can afford to update their device every year.

Those people have to realize that eventually a lot of games will not be supported by these devices and they will have to move on. This is already happening with OpenCL

If people read carefully the description before buying blindly this could be possible

    Oh its bullshit alright.

Yeah I agree, in in a perfect world we would not have war, prostitution would be legal sense, no one was poor, all prostitutes worked with prostitution because the loved it.

But unlucky for us, the world isn't perfect. Poor people will still turn to prostitution because that's the only income they can get. People will still die in wars. And people will still buy apps blindly, not reading the description.

And that's why its bullshit. I hold my ground.

    Oo

The Recession in the UK ended a long while ago, based on strong data this quarter so far we dodged a double dip as well, so that's irrelevant.

And why single out the UK? some parts of the US have a much worse economic situation than the UK / EU.

Oh and, this game looks awesome. ;)

But prices are higher than ever and some people don't have jobs. When the majority of games are for higher devices I'll invest in one. Until then, I wouldn't get my moneys worth.

And you have to realize that people cant afford to get new phone every year. What's that, you really cant do that?

Yeah ofc eventually all systems will be abandoned But the day when the first iphone will be abandoned clearly isen't yet, sense A lot of games is still available for them. Sure some games wont be possible to play on older devices. But those that can, will for a long time be made available.

And people in Nigeria are dealing with massive inflation! I could ask why you picked the US, people tend to deal with where they live/know.

I half typed out a reply but arguing over buying a game on a luxury device seems so trivial. Ugh; welcome to the Internet I suppose.
