And what a beautiful thing it will be when it finally arrives! Imagine the S&S team a little more like Valve and a little less like Activision. They aren't here for the quick buck in sixty seconds. What they have in their hands is pretty special and they know it. I'm sure it's pretty frustrating for them, too. Imagine having this completely awesome game experience in your possession, wanting to share said experience with the masses, yet knowing that if you just take a little more time it will be an even better experience for those you share it with. What would you do? Crap out and go for the quick buck? Or go for the REAL finish line you know is just a little further ahead? Just another few weeks. Yeah, it turns my stomach a little to say that too, but we can gut it out. It will be worth it!
Did the Audience Calibration Procedure leave you feeling hungry and perhaps, strangely disoriented? It is recommended that you go here and watch this: http://www.gamercamp.ca/gamercamp-keynote-sword-sworcery-team This is the keynote speech that was given by Jim Guthrie, Kris Piotrowski and Craig Adams of the S:S&S EP team at Gamercamp Lv2 last November. There was a LOT of new footage in here of the game that I hadn't seen before. The vernal equinox has never seemed further away, yet, never closer.
why do i wanna see all the footage of the game before i even play it? its already a short game.. i dont understand this. nothing is going to be a suprise when the game comes out.
Honestly, I feel a bit the same. I actually DON'T want to see too much of the game. I felt a little spoiled watching the Gamercamp footage. I really want the experience to be completely unknown and fresh. I enjoy the mystery surrounding the game, yet, my curiosity drives me to learn as much as I can about it. It's such a Catch 22 situation. But, I figured enough people have been asking "what is this game" and "I know nothing about this game" that they probably wouldn't mind getting a little more clued in by the keynote speech. What struck me was that footage was taken in November of 2010. And it looked THAT good. Now add 3-4 months of polish on TOP of that. WOW. This thing is going to melt peoples eyes / minds!
Same with me. Im actually a little pissed, that they didn't warn me about the spoilers. They should have a label that says something like: Warning, Spoilers. Harcore fans will get a better game experience by not watching this But I stopped watching when they got to the Sworcery/spell part. Was just to much for me. Want to explore it my self! They are ruining there own game I know we should all be possible to know that each new news/clip will be a little spoiler, and there for choose not to watch it. But seriously. Its not easy for us hardcore fans not to watch, sense we have waited for so long. And there for grasp at every S&S EP news, and don't let go. Shit, that's how we survive! So the Spoiler-label is really needed. Just a die-hard fans thought And for all I care, I want the Devs to take as long as they need with this game. What we say in Sweden (maybe people from the rest of the world allso say it? ^^ ): If you wait for something good, you never wait too long And in Swedish (for the die-hard linguistic that roams the toucharcade forum): Den som väntar på något gott, väntar aldrig för länge! ^^
Joystiq has a brief preview of this game. Doesn't give much, but I was frankly sold at "Robert Ashley" http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/01/superbrothers-sword-and-sworcery-ep-preview/
this game sounds greaT I've been wanting this game since I first heard of it but had no clue and iPad version is in the works as well.I hope the iPhone and iPad versions (unless its universal of course) are released at the same time.
The iPad version is, in fact, coming out in just a short while! The iPhone version will follow pretty quickly after that. It is probably unlikely to be turned into a universal app, but you never know.
jeez i have to remember there's 2 different threads going on... follow Eli on twitter folks (@hodapp)
