According to the stats on my iPhone, I've "wasted" 41 hours in this game. Not sure if it says the same thing on my iPad, but I presume so. I can't imagine that it isn't combined. Talk about value. :)

Also, I find myself now paying attention to leader boards, because it's another thing to shoot for, and so now I am bummed that people can buy extra power ups in single-player. Not sure that any of my friends have done that - their scores seem achievable within normal limits, but it's hard to say for sure. So I'd be in favor of a strict leader board that doesn't allow buying power ups (but I wouldn't want it to disallow power ups - playing them well and wisely is a huge part of the game, and I don't think it would be any fun without them).

Actually I'm finding there isn't that much difference between possible scores with 'Standard Play' and 'Pay to Play'. ;)

Possible is not the same thing as buying endless mulligans and other power ups until you get the shot perfectly. :)

Update coming soon that will add cross-playform asynch play (via username search) as well as "balancing" of the cost of the final hats and amount of cash you can earn, whatever that means. Hopefully it means the final 2 hats will be doable for me! :)

    http://www.noodlecake.com/868/username-search-has-been-added-to-ssg2-android/

It's not new courses, but still sounds like an update to look forward to.

I held off playing too much just in case the downloadable HD assets ever came into fruition... no news yet?

    You missed the point completely!

Possible with Standard Play = NOT buying any additional Powerups.
Possible with Pay to Play = Buying additional Powerups.

It's a very straight forward concept.......

Cool. The downside though is it'll probably mean needing to start over in order to take advantage of the re-balancing since for serious gamers all the in-game cash has been earned through the normal routes and all that is left is just randomly encountering a challenge that awards cash.

Or through Multiplayer wins, which IMO should be:
    1st $5
    2nd $3
    3rd $1
Because with all of the quitters it's very rare to finish a complete match! Speaking of which $ & XP should be shared and awarded to whoever doesn't quit, regardless of what stage into the match it is.

I think he was pointing out that even if both sides get exactly the same score, one side basically cheated their way to it with money. One player might be a lot worse than the other player, so the leader boards are inaccurate.

    63 hours for me. Ouch.

I got the last but one hat today, and as I expected it was the completely useless Space Helmet, leaving the holy grail of the Gold Royal Crown for last. At least with the searchable usernames the multi-player will become more interesting now.

OK that makes a bit more sense, thanks for pointing it out like that and apologies if that's the point you were trying to make crunc!

Not much point worrying yourself about that kind of stuff though in any event. You'd be hard pressed to find a popular game where the Leaderboards aren't riddled with game crackers and game center hackers....

    92 hours for me.

EDIT: I imagine you could almost double or triple that if time spent creating content and posting about the game on my site was included.

Hey! Been playing a few turn matches against you.

I've got an embarrassing 107 hours logged...I hope having it open in multitask bar counts lol

Don't have a whole lot to show for it in campaign aside from course 1 and slightly 2. Guess I play lots of multiplayer.

    impressions, hopes, comments

Its been a while for me since I have jumped on to the forums here to post praise, love, dissapoint, questions, requests, etc.. but after playing SSG2 for a number of hours over a number of days, it has pulled me from the TA shadows.

I have very much enjoyed SSG2 thus far. I have completed all courses and obtained all achievements except for 10 race mode/ multi player wins. I am on level 29 xp as well. The courses were great with Low Poly being my least fav on regular play.

Kudos to Noodlecake for making a great game. I have played a good number of turn based and race games, but it always seems that one small mist step (be it from a bad shot to picking up the phone to play a turn when I am in the middle of something else and just simply rushing).

Based off of my gameplay experience, I have a few questions, suggestions, statements Id like to share. I am splitting this into two sections, Solo Mode and Multi Mode, because each thing about the game changes drastically for me with each.

    SOLO MODE

Courses: Loved them and can tell that a great deal of thought/tweeking went into the design. Am hoping to see some new levels soon and would LOVE to see the ability to have a level editor/ level creator w/ level sharing ability. I have not seen where Noodlecake has indicated this was a possibe future implementation, but would be great if it was. The level difficulty increased nicely without such a steady escalation that I didnt dread the next course.

Powerups: I like the ones available, but looking forward to some additional ones being implemented. I do like in practice mode how you have unlimited. The ability to purchase more in Solo mode is nice as well and needed for me during some of my maiden voyages on each course.

Golf Bux: Yes, I did purchase some bux. Needed to to pay for powerups first few times I attempted some courses before I really understood the nooks and crannys of each.

Hats: Enjoyed them in Solo mode. I really like the ones that give an extra affect to powerups. Makes the levels have more depth in re playability. Would love to see HAT COMBINATIONS for Solo mode

    MULTI MODE

Courses: Certainly will need more courses. It seems like most people avoid certain ones and favor others.

Powerups: NOODLECAKE MUST IMPLEMENT: 1) Option to play without, 2) Option to limit the amount available, 3) Allow purchase of additional, 4) allow unlimited. Multi Mode is fun, but is destroying the fun sometimes with 3 second rounds and people who have mastered one or two levels get the jump on others and pull too far away for the others to have a fighting chance of winning. Plus, it makes the courses way too short sometimes. Especially when I get a nice smooth playing connection. Maybe even limiting which ones are available would be nice too.

Bux: I like being able to shuffle available courses. Maybe allowing more vetos by purchasing?

Hats: (damn you pink sticky cap) Again NOODLECAKE MUST IMPLEMENT: 1) Option to play without, 2) Option to limit the amount available to use on a certain course, 3) Allow purchase of combination hats. while I love sticky laser balls, the pink hat simply alters the game too much. While I may be trying for a skill shot, usually 2-3 other multi players are speeding through the course and taking shots for the green that in no way would end up landing without the hat and then are automatically primed for the put kill shot. on an average 3 stroke hole, basically giving the last two strokes that kind of advantage, kind of sinks my enthusiasm and I feel almost forced into having to switch hats.

WIND (lack of): I wish some course alterations would be added like wind speed. thus, making some of the courses replayable even more than they already are.

Overall. SSG2 kicks but. Please consider adding level creation with level share. Could download top courses via IAP.

Thanks and id like to hear others thoughts on my comments.

Yes, as you can see from my play I'm a lot more slapdash than you. You're one of the few players I've come up against where it's worth watching the way they attack the hole because there are some ideas I'd never have thought of.

I'm trying to break into playing more Magnet Land and Magnet Grove on multiplayer but I'm being thrashed by everyone there. There are probably about four courses I feel pretty comfortable with on multiplayer, though even then I'm not guaranteed a win.

I'd like to see Noodlecake implement a way of sending a message to the person you're playing. A really great hole deserves a congratulatory pat on the back IMO.

While I can understand all of the reasons for your suggestion, I just think that would fragment the game far too much and make it too complicated for the casual player. Think about it:

4 powerup options times 3 hat options means you're splitting the multi players into 12 groups straight off the bat. A far better option IMO would be to arrange those things in-game, so by adding the chat option I mentioned you could agree to have the next match with a clean ball, or only using x number of powerups, or not using the sticky toque for instance. You could even start handicapping matches that way.

Does anyone remember seeing the soundtrack posted somewhere? Trebella has the SSG on both BandCamp and iTunes, but not SSG2 yet...
