kepa, the new trailer was EPIC. can't wait to play, but is it me or the motion trail glitch still there?
Ha, yeah, it's still there. We're going to gut it anyway. I think we're just going to put in the old Hook Champ motion trails. Updating first post. The new trailer is here: 2nd trailer on SlidetoPlay We're going to do a third pre-release trailer, too. I was hoping to do it at the end of this month, though it may be early May. We've hit some snags, mostly related to illness. As always, I'm looking for any feedback, positive or negative.
Maybe! But probably not his 8-bit version, unless we do something really wacky with an unlockable 8-bit level or something.
One other thing Kepa, what really makes a game IMO, is cut-scenes and voice-acting. Will there be any cut-scenes and or voice-acting in SQH?
Well good job with the characters, I'm very pleased with what you've done! Hermit will wind up being my favorite he looks so epic. Can't wait to see more. Will you have only an iPhone/iTouch version or will this support the iPad as well. Any plans for an iPad version?
Cut-scenes: Not really. We have a seamless-dialog system instead. On release, it's just going to be used in the tutorial. Jakob talks to himself in his quest to find a hunk of meat he dropped when he was buried by an avalanche. We plan some interesting things for this dialog system post-release. Oh, and if we don't end up cutting it for time, you'll be able to talk to random shop patrons. It's story, but it's not really cut-scenes. Voice acting: Nope. I would like to do this for a future game, but I'm not sure if we'd be able to play this straight. I'd personally be tempted to make the voice acting as terrible as possible, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night style. We could do an iPad version, but it would be some time after the iPhone version. We'd want to do some iPad specific stuff for it, especially control tuning. There's also no way we'd delay the iPhone version to get an iPad version out at the same time.
I may be the only one... but the characters look like they are too tall for their own animations. And on top of that it looks like they are constantly swinging and sliding around with a iron hanger stuck in their shirts. Other than that the game looks great!
I see what you mean on the second part. We do it this way because of the hat system. We have time to polish up the animations, but there's a certain limit of how fluid we can make the upper bodies. It is. I like all the music. Though you can always play your own.
