Question! Kepa, I read on the blog you said that there are bronze through platinum versions of each level. How do they differ?
I see. Well when I first found out that It had traditional hook champ type levels I became much more serious about following the game. Avalanche mode will be great but I tend to tire of endless/random generation games. I will be calling it super hook champ for sure. I really hope you don't actually intend to make us sit here and suffer while the game sits approved to release it on a Friday!!! It's already killing me. I might have to go replay hook champ to distract myself.
No lite. Maybe after a month? We didn't have time to belt one out. The controls are better (and more configurable), but more importantly, the physics are much improved. It turned out that when most people said they didn't like the Hook Champ controls, they actually meant they had problems with the physics. I'll explain our changes to both. Controls: 1. There's the old Hook Champ style of controls... 2. There's the arrows on right side, rocketboots on left side style controls as the default. I actually like the default controls the best. 3. There's run arrows on left side, rocketboots on right (the reverse of the above). Physics: 1. You can latch into a ceiling for as long as you want now, without cramming your head into the ceiling. You'll just swing back and forth until you're ready to let go, now. This makes learning the physics much easier, and lets you take your time on hard jumps if you want. 2. The physics are much less "floaty" now. This means that it's harder to accidentally throw yourself into the ceiling, cramming your head into it after you detach your hook. 3. The centrifugal physics are improved. In short, this means it's easier to gain altitude if you want to. Combined with the "less floaty", it also means you can rise *when* you want to. The physics changes really help new players get into the game easier. In hindsight, you pretty much had to fight the Hook Champ physics till you got used to them. Also, the new physics feel a lot better to all players, even to Hook Champ veterans.
I actually grasped HC controls and physics quickly. In the update coming to HC, will the new control schemes from SQH be a choice, of course with a shotgun button.
Is this supposed to be Hook Champ II, or an entirely different game altogether? No one seems to refer to it as a sequel, per se, but that's what it feels like based on the trailers. I can't wait to buy it, I bought Hook Champ on day one last year and it was very good, if a little frustrating. I'm glad you guys refined the physics so that I won't have to backtrack often in order to gain enough momentum to get through a wall.
It was going to be avalanche mode and four levels. Now 17 levels so it really is but the first name stuck.
No, the HC controls are pretty rigid. They're not really configurable "buttons" so much as just hard coded areas. For SQH, we can move and alter the controls however we want, pretty easily. It wasn't a sequel 2 months ago, but it's really a sequel now. Also, in Super QuickHook there's a shop item that lets you obliterate walls. Depending on what level upgrade you have, you can destroy ice/rock walls at any speed, even just walking into them.
No word from Apple. I'll post everywhere as soon as we get word. $1.99 if you get it early. After that, $2.99, no future sales. Also you get two exclusive hats for getting it the first day. One if you get it the opening weekend. The game will come out on a Friday, that's all we know for sure right now.
I've seen about a half dozen different people ask about the price. The Dev has answered that question over and over.
