How do you get 'Fireworks Jump Gold'? I've never figured out how to get it. I have Silver and Bronze, but I don't know how I got those either.
Heh, check again Correcting my cock up in the final corridor + slightly tighter hooking over all actually improved my score by about 25 milliseconds. I might be able to shave a few milliseconds through minor improvements, but any big improvement would have to come through that zig zag part, which I just can't get consistently. Every time I have nailed that zig zag bit, I screw up the run somewhere else. If I could just figure out the trick of that bit, I think I could beat qpawn's score.
Heh, paid the price for my arrogance there. Qpawn went and dashed my hopes by somehow shaving another .02 from his score. That incorrigible rogue! But I just managed to get top five on sunset path, thanks to a tip from qpawn, which means I now have platinum medals for every level. Oooh yeah *cool sunglasses* (I wish I could figure out emoticons)
Oops, hope I didn't let any cats out of some variety of bag. I guess there's no harm saying it though, since it's hardly likely to jeopardize qpawn's dominance of the leaderboards haha. It's not going to massively improve your time though. it just helped me shave off like 3 milliseconds that I needed. After the 3rd rocket jump, drop down the hole just before you collect that last coin, instead of continuing to swing. It really will only save a few milliseconds though. You might even already be doing it; I was just starting to experiment with it myself when he told me about it.
While we're on the topic of small miscellaneous updates... just a very minor complaint: Please remove or let me improve upon my best time in the credits level (shown in the pedometer)! It's 1:17 right now... not terrible, considering I discovered the secret on my own, but the point of the game is to get something crazy like 0:26 right?
I just got my first platinum medal on Lethal Halls. I think I'll try to get more of them because that's all thats left to do since I already have all the achievements. Kepa, will there be any extra special hats or hooks for top global scores? And is there any possibility of adding Total Scores in Openfeint? That made Hook Champ more competitive and addictive.
rofl. type cool with : at the beginning and end, like :co0l: (there's a 0 there but it should be an o)
Or you could hit the Quote button instead of Quote with Reply. Then you get a list of all the emoticons on the right. Oh, Blackmacros, looks like your back at #3.
Wow 1 millisecond impressive mikeg! Looks like you guys are each pushing each other to better and better high scores on lethal halls
For some reason I keep getting these better times when I mess up at least once. I don't quite understand why, but a very slight delay in the middle seems to help my final score in the end. EDIT: I take that back. I finally got a clean run and improved my score.
No possibility for specific rewards for top global scores. Besides the platinum medals, which don't really do anything. I consider rewarding top global scores a mistake in Hook Champ, for a few different reasons. Total Scores sounds like a good idea, though, I'll see if we can slip that in somewhere. I think we're just going to remove the pedometer for that level, the upcoming secret credits level, and whatever other future level we don't want to build for racing.
/killself...I reaaally didn't want to spend (waste) all day trying to top another Lethal Halls score :'( Oh and, retroactively applied sunglasses for before: (even though their badassery is now rendered impotent in the face of your new score) Also, I would love Total Scores too. That would probably give me an incentive to revisit some of the levels where I have slipped from the top scores.
Sorry! I've enjoyed the competition. Nice to get a little back and forth going, now that qpawn has all but achieved God-like scores. I think I've only topped 4 (or maybe 5) of his scores, and that is it. Unlike HC where we swapped a ton of scores. I originally got a 1:30.34 that barely beat you. However, I figured you'd top that in no time, so after some more work I got a 1:30.24. At that point I figured I could do a little better, and after a few more runs I got my current 1:30.18. I didn't expect to do better than a 1:30.22.
I played sunset paths about a billion times last night, trying to shave off enough time to get top 5. The plus side to that is that my hooking has gotten a lot more efficient, so I think I can shave off about .05 just based on that. I'm not sure though, even if I nail that zig zag section, whether I can make up the remaining .12. And I have no idea whatsoever where qpawn pulled a further .2 from to get down to 1:30. I already feel like i'm close to a perfect run, bar the zig zag. EDIT: Ok so I shaved .05 seconds. It wasn't an entirely clean run though, so I think I can take another .05 off. Question: Is it possible to avoid sliding when dropping into the final corridor? Sometimes I can jump out of a slide and start hooking without any speed loss, but other times I lose about 5 milliseconds. My most recent run, unfortunately, I lost much of what I had gained through the rest of the level because I came out of the slide poorly.
