Has anyone redeemed the freebie hats yet? Just grab a few coins, and unlock in the store? If this is true, are the hats just not available in the store at all to people that dont purchase opening weekend?
Yes and yes. If you get the game after the 18th (though it doesn't actually stop until 3 am PST on the 19th), the Rocketcat Mask will be missing. If you get the game after the 20th (once again 3 am PST on the 21st), the Tiny Top Hat will be gone. The Early Buyer Discount ends at some arbitrary time and day after that. We just push a button that makes it go from $1.99 to $2.99, then we leave the price there, forever.
Kepa, are you planning on doing any more performance optimizations? I get occasional hiccups (and quite a lot more in Avalanche mode) with the particle setting on High with my iPod Touch 2G. I know there's always Low but I was hoping the 2G could at least handle the default/middle setting. It seems both Extreme and High are best reserved for a 3GS at the moment.
No, more that there would be hats that would become impossible to get after a short period of time for the average player like me. This lifts my spirits though

I have an iPod Touch 2G as my only device. Seems to do fine, and I usually run on Extreme (though Avalanche does hiccup sometimes in parts, I put it just on High). We tried to put as many settings in the menus as we could for performance tweaking. I'm not sure if we could squeeze out any more performance, but it's something we're always interested in.
Hm. It sounds like I'm getting more than you then. I've had a few hiccups in the normal levels that meant my tap didn't register and I fell to my death I'm gonna have a go on Extreme and see how it plays... Edit: Alright, Extreme seems to play exactly the same as High on the regular levels. A few hiccups when there are lots of coins in a row or something but nothing too bad.
