I bought Super QuickHook on launch weekend, but only just recently got around to playing it...I got Hook Champ a few days before hand and was so hooked on it that I didn't even open Super QuickHook until I managed to finish it (well except the hat levels, but I'll get round to them soon). So that's a testament to how great Hook Champ is right there; I cant believe I had never played it before.

Anyway, I started playing Super QuickHook a few days ago, and it took me a while to get used to the new physics but now I am LOVING it! Going back to Hook Champ now, things feel so much slower and floatier. I'm a big fan of how the new game feels and plays. I didnt realize it until recently, but it becomes a completely different game once you've finished all the levels. Completing the game was fun, but going back for high scores takes it to just another level; it becomes completely addictive. I even managed to snag a couple of top 3 scores, which I didn't expect! Also, Avalanche mode is great.

So in summary, congratulations on yet another amazing game, I hope you didn't mind me waffling on about how much i'm in love with it ;)

Love this game! Great sequel to Hook Champ. Not sure if anyone remembers me from the Hook Champ thread, but anyone want to add me and compete for high scores :p

We'll check on this. Stuff like this is always kind of hard to track down, because it only happens to a small percentage of people. Despite everyone having the same hardware and software.

Maybe! Also for the above comment, SQH already supports the iPad, but just a little bit. We still need to put in changes to how it scales (easy), and maybe shuffle around the controls a bit. Any suggestions on the second part?

The current version works flawlessly on the iPad, except for a glitch in Avalanche that causes a failure of the hook to release (or appear to have not release in the first place) if a rocket boost is used too soon afterwards. This results in the player being snagged in the opposite direction - right into the avalanche. It doesn't happen often, and doesn't always ruin the game, but it has ended several of my runs. My style of play is the same on both 2nd gen itouch and iPad, but this only happens on iPad.

I find that the buttons are relatively easy to hit when playing the game in 2x zoom on the iPad, and I don't really have any problem with swinging or anything. I've got a local score of about 8200 in Avalanche on my iPad copy of the game (which is slightly below my current 8886 on my iTouch 3G), so it works fine as is.

The only gripe I have is the narrow black border in 2x mode. If the game scaled, that would not only take care of that problem, it would also allow the buttons to be closer to the edge of the screen (so there probably wouldn't be much need to shuffle the controls around).

I've honestly never encountered this on my iPad. Which control scheme are you using?

First of all, all I have to say is, this game is freaking awesome! Super addicting!
One quick question: Hook Champ was renowned for it's myriad of hats. I heard there were a LOT. Why are there only about 10 in SQH? Are there more unlocked later in the game?

^Hook Champ started out with only a few also, IIRC. But many more were added with future updates.

First Avalanche run on my new iphone 4 finally beat the dev score(9718), but only #7 overall. Literally on my 3gs a quarter of the screen I couldn't see, it was a miracle I have been getting high scores at all when I can barely see what is coming up next. I guess levels are mainly memorization, but random avalanche was destroying me on my phone.

Going from 3gs to 4 was painless and all my scores/acheivements/etc transferred over when I synced my new phone with itunes if anyone was wondering.

    Still loving the game kepa

I'm only at 13k, I don't even remember how much money I had left over when I finally uninstalled hook champ. I know it was way more than 13k lol.

I beat all the levels, developer scores, and was in the top 10 overall scores for a long time(Not playing HC for over 5 months now I am still #17 overall). I burned myself out and without folders to put apps in my OCD took over and I couldn't take having an app on my phone that I didn't play(I wish I still had all those hours I put into defender chronicles =/).

Ok, you may pass...but 1 corner shall be cut off your card for killing the nostalgic times. You may move on, but do not collect $200 this time around 'GO'.

when is the update coming? have you submitted it yet? one glitch i found was that when you are buying lots of stuff the game crashes and i'm quite sure some people have this glitch too.

what are nightmare levels? is that the other name for the last 4 levels? or is it different, like you can't see the level selection when it's still locked?

I always get that crash bug.

Anyone else get really annoyed trying to bet the developers score for magma ruins? I hope Kepa keeps adding more challenging levels :)

It's up to Apple. It was submitted earlier this week. I've never seen that crash bug, could use more information on it.

That's the name for the last 4 levels. The ones that revisit the old landscape types, and generally take place at night.

The next few updates each add more challenging levels.
