Just wanted to update again with my status in the levels. I am officially ranked in Dwarven Door Was only playing during class so my score's not too great yet, we'll see how that changes though =] was 23, knocked down to 24. Bought gnomy and all too!
Early reports is that the better achievement checking is working for some people, not working for others. If your achievements still don't kick in after a day or two of messing around in the game, let me know.
I got every secrets of the regular levels, and still no gnomey. Are there secrets in Avalanche or Eruption too ? Any clue ?
as i understand gnome has different hitboxes than regular characters? looks like Kepa is not in the mood to answer on possible bug reports, so maybe someone else can answer the question about jump puds on spike levels, it works sometimes strange, jumps are too high so character hits spikes. it's supposed to work in this way or this is bug?
Woo! The update fixed my achievements, and I finally got access to the secret level! Yay EDIT: Oh and I went back yesterday and finally finished off the forbidden hat levels in hook champ! They weren't all that hard after the likes of zig zag horror.
It happens to my brother all the time, but I've never run into it, not even once. What device are you playing on? Do you get lag? And yea, the Gnome and QuackHook both have smaller hitboxes than the other characters.
It's a bug, but it's hard to track down. I'm thinking about going through the levels and tweaking them, anyway. Mostly to add new checkpoints so all levels have at least 2 checkpoints. When I do, I'll take a look at making the spike ceilings taller by, I don't know, 3 tiles or so.
I hate bugs. Hey guys just wanted to see if anyone has still had difficulties even after installing the update. I was able to get Gnomey (best character) but I still havent gotten the "Finder of Secrets Gold" or "The Final Victory" achievements. The openfeint refreshing helped none.
3gs, updated to ios 4.1, not jb. So gnome can give you a few points at some levels. need to check. thanks, well i just wanted to know what it is, feature or bug. it happens not so oft and actually it does not ruin the gameplay.
Others are having this problem, too. Not sure what's wrong. Will have to look at it again for the next update.
I wouldn't care if they kept on updating SQH. I mean, they've already added a HUGE amount of content...and besides, aren't you excited for their two new games? Hook Swing Worlds sounds AMAZING!
Updates, yes. Hats, new features, things like that. New level updates: Probably not, it takes a huge amount of time to do so. About the same amount of time it took to do Hook Champ level updates, even though the tools are better now. I did a blog post once explaining why the levels were such a pain in the ass to design. In short, it's due to how you have to manually aim the hook, but 99% of the time you just shoot the hook 45 degrees out in front of you. This makes level design extremely finicky and exact. Hook Swing Worlds level design is much faster, though, because the game is built from the ground up to have the hook autoaim (!!!). For comparison, it looks like making the entire game's levels is going to take the same amount of time it took to make a single update for SQH. Universal support: We'll update our old games to have this as soon as we manage to buy iPads or iPhone 4's for everyone on the team. I'm thinking about getting one of the new iPod Touch ones, for the new retinal support.
