Sequel to the greatest videogame mankind has created, it comes out May 24th. Check the videos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mzQ4ZcWa1II&feature=player_embedded This will be so good.
That's the worst defense I've read in a long time. Thumbs up. My Wii is in a corner gathering dust because Nintendo whores it out to anyone and everyone, and very rarely do we see quality releases. I simply can't be bothered to set it up and get back into it for the sake of a sequel.
I tried playing the first one but couldn't due to the aweful graphics. I know that sounds shallow (in a weird, video game sort of way) but it's the truth.
I guess we have different opinions then. This may be a Wii game, but it's still one of the most beautiful games on any console released this gen. Nintendo really outdid themselves in the graphics dept. on this game. As for the game itself(gameplay), it was okay. I didn't really fall in love with it like most others did(not counting Wii haters), but then again I'm not that big of a Mario platformer fan anymore, or Nintendo fan for that matter.(with the exception of Zelda)
Lol. Your TV must be a piece of crap because the game looks fantastic on my HDTV with component cables. And yes, that "complaint" is as shallow as it gets.
Wow, yes, that game must look amazing on a 1080p TV... Even though the res output on the Wii is only 480p... In fairness it looks great for a Wii game.
There are some jaggies because of the 480p resolution, but nothing that makes it look "awful" as that pathetic attempt of trolling posted above.
I played it on a standard definition TV (maybe it helped, idk), and the game looked pretty damn good. Sure, nothing compared to anything you'll find on the 360 or PS3, but the gameplay definitely made up for it. I doubt I'll pick up the sequel, though. I'd have to get a new cable and a new sensor bar for a game I'll play for a couple months, and it'd be competing with Red Dead Redemption (which I intend to sink a while into once exams are over next week).
I have both HD and SD TV's, the Wii looks far better when played on an SD screen, as the scanlines eliminate jaggies. HD screens simply stretch the graphics beyond their original size and highlight all the flaws.
Eh, never really liked SMG, but then again I'm not really into those sorts of games. I only ever switch on the Wii nowadays to play Tatsunoko vs. Capcom or Monster Hunter Tri. Thank god for Capcom.
Watch out, you've offended a serious Mario fan. Consequences might involve throwing of certain mushrooms across the room, slipping on green turtle shells the size of fat oafs, and untimely falling down an endless pit and death involving direct contact with a bodyless toad. This is the funniest thread I've seen in this forum for a long time, especially the part about that "being the greatest video game of mankind" and "best designed game".
What'd you expect? Nintendo puts a ridiculous amount of effort into these games, I'd be surprised by anything under 9.7.
I agree with IGN. The game really deserved a high score like that, and I also agree with Kamazar - When it comes down to a game series like this and Nintendo then they'll bring out something really good.
The Mario series has mostly been a disappointment since Mario 64, but Galaxy felt like a return to the good old days of SMB3 and SMW. Hope this one continues that trend.
