Super Jet World is a fast paced, challenging flying game that takes the basic concept from the helicopter game and transforms it for the current generation. It is very easy to pick up and play but mastering the game will challenge the most seasoned fliers. In Super Jet World, players will choose one of 3 pilots to navigate 7 stages with varying themes, obstacles and level design. Some stages include monster infested ice caverns, active volcanoes and asteroid belts in outer space. Players have 3 lives and there are no checkpoints. Your only help in Super Jet World are limited use power ups such as a shield or turbo. With practice, pilots might be able to clear all 7 stages before facing faster levels, obstacles and enemies. We severely miss the extreme, but always fair, old school challenge of games from the 8-bit and 16-bit eras. Our goal with Super Jet World was to recreate the spirit of our favorite games from earlier generations with a focus on developing exclusively to the strengths of the mobile platforms. The controls are very simple. Just like the helicopter game, the player holds one button down to keep the plane in flight and releases the button to descend. A tap on the lower right corner of the screen allows the player to use an equipped power up. What we have perfected with Super Jet World is the fluidity of control. It is this extreme precise control coupled with great audio/visual feedback at 60 frames per second that makes the game a joy to play on all mobile devices. We are launching on November 9th for IOS and Android. I'd love to hear feedback from the toucharcade community. Check out the trailer: Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel
Classic mode is actually "endless". There are 7 levels which are 20 seconds each. If you are able to clear the 7th, the 1st level immediately resumes at a faster speed. Have you ever played Wipeout on playstation? There is a mode in this game called zone mode. You do not control the speed of your ship in this mode but have to navigate the turns. After a sector is cleared the speed of the ship increases. So each previous zone is faster and becomes more difficult. That was the premise of classic mode.
Challenge Mode has been extremely popular in beta. Before starting a game, players can challenge one another. A pilot then has one life to navigate through all levels facing varying obstacles and speed increases. After losing the one life, the time is recorded and a notification is sent to the challenged player. The challenged player then has one life to survive longer than the challenger did.
Our focus for the past 8 months has been on the mobile release. We are really excited to release Super Jet World for IOS and Android this Sunday! Today, we launched a kickstarter for a PC release with additional features in 2015. I know this forum is mobile based but I wanted to share the link with you guys. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/204944585/super-jet-world
All IOS and Android platforms are supported. We also have leaderboards that are reset each month for real cash prizes. There is no catch here. It is not pay to play, or redeem for credits. If you are first, second or third on the leaderboard on November 30th we will send you a check. 1st place takes $1000. 2nd - $300, 3rd - $200. Unfortunately, there are a few states that do not allow cash prizes legally so they are excluded from the contest. And it is US only. But other than that there are no restrictions. Matthew is lonely at the top of the level select leaderboard..
Thanks for the comments guys. If anyone would like to play the beta we can send you a build. We would love your feedback
