Does anyone know if those vintage robes with magic resist help against life tap? That ones a killer...massive damage and heals the enemy...

Not sure if I want to grind for it but I guess I'll
Need to Grind something to get that lady's blood. I can't damage her quickly enough.

I did find out that the summons have their own life bar, and when they get killed it's back to yours. That's handy!

    Bulk Paint,

This is a strange question. In the original Glyph Quest, in earlier builds of the game, the game is "easy" (relatively speaking) enough that it is possible to beat the game WITHOUT using a single potion (for both attack or healing). This can be done by leveling fast enough and using spells to always bind enemies so they never have a chance to attack you.

In Super Glyph Quest, is this feat possible? Have you yourself, who is obviously an expert of the game, tried to beat the game this way.

I took a shot at this. In earlier levels, this was possible, but as soon as I hit the Draguardians, the attempt quickly takes a turn for the worse.

    Just wondering...

    Bulk Paint,

Thanks for the game and your participation here - also thanks for the hints how to kill those zombies.

Have you seen my earlier remark that on my iPhone 4s I can't read alle the resistances and the box won't scroll?

Also, what is the use of flee - it seems you might as well keep fighting, there is no real harm in being defeated, or is there?

So you can quit the battle whenever you want to.

Ugh, I reset the game in frustration because my 3 levels of Armor + Fitness + Heavy Armor + winter robes (resist physical) were having no appreciable effect on the damage I was taking. And the multiple status effects, as others have said, are really annoying. The Bleed + Poison from one bandit fencer in just the first adventure area, which didn't even give decent XP anymore, could take out half my health bar. I don't mind grinding, and I don't mind a high level of difficulty either, but this is just silly.

Life Tap does Dark and Magic damage, so yes - the Vintage Robes should work fine.

I'm going to go ahead and say no, although I don't think it's about health potions and more about status reduction stuff. Maybe on your second playthrough when you've already got the relevant robes, then maybe but I still doubt it. That said, if it's possible, I'm sure one of you guys could do it.

Maybe wait until v1.03 when the Draguardians should be a little easier...

Thanks for confirming that this silly feat is not possible. With health potion, the levels that I previously had trouble with are relatively easy to pass, including the Draguardians.

Can you explain more about "status reduction stuff"? How is this different from the original game? From what I observed so far, the game is far more difficult because "status attack effect" on enemies are much weaker but "status damage taken" by the player are much more and lasts longer (like poison)? Is this correct?

Question about Aftertouch... Can you explain the relative damage when leveling up? Also, how is damage calculated in the following:

    1. fire-fire-air-fire?
    2. fire-fire-air-air ?
    3. fire-fire-air-light?

Are all of the above just 2-glyph spell + 2? Do you all confer the "same" damage, regardless of the differences of the 4th glyph (matching the first/second glyph, matching the third glyph, or not matching at all)?

    1. 2-glyph fire + 1 (10% air)
    2. 2-glyph fire + 2 (20% air)
(air-fire-fire-air would produce the same result BTW)
    3. 2-glyph fire + 2 (10% air + 10% light)

    Assuming that you've got level 1 Aftertouch - levels 2 and 3 are 20% and 30% respectively.

    Bulk Paint,

First, can you describe all of the HEALTH REGEN spells? Is there only one such spell? Sun-Water-Sun-Water (or the reverse, Water-Sun-Water-Sun)?

Second, there is also an extremely annoying chain bug. More than once, I accumulated a long-length chain of A-B-A-B spell. But when I cast a C-B-C-B. The spell retains memory of only B instead of B and C, which nullifies my chain length strategy. It is acting as if I cast a bad alternative C-B-B-C. I am certain that I did not screw up on the linking. Can you investigate?

Lastly, I want to get an opinion from you on whether or not I am overthinking on how to play this game. Unlike the original game, I am finding myself taking at least half an hour playing through just one quest, as opposed to only minutes. Part of the slowdown is that I have to take time to make sure that, for each step I take (such as making a 4-glyph spell, usually of A-B-A-B type), there will always be at least one other chain somewhere else which I use use to continue the current chain length, regardless of what new glyphs I may receive in the next move. I am also keeping tab on periodically renewing my health generation spells so that I will always be regrowing my health (by the way, how many turns does this health regen spell lasts? There seems to be no fixed number). All of this tracking and pre-planning is very mentally taxing, and I am worried that I am turning a game meant to be play quick-and-fast to one that is entirely bonged down because I misunderstood of the intended play style. Especially if there are many missions, my current play style will simply become too cumbersome to continue. Can you share your thoughts on this?

Regeneration (Light-water) is the only spell that gives you the Regeneration status effect although there are a couple more that give you health.
Bless (Light-Air) and Harvest (Light-Earth) are the others. Harvest gives the least health but does do AoE damage as well.

Okay, this does sound like a bug. I'll have a look into it. The spell parser could certainly use a re-write...

Yes, you're over thinking this, but you're also not alone. Many players experience a huge slow-down when they unlock Combos. This, however, is usually down to the fact that the patterns for them are harder to spot than simply 'x of the same colour next to each other'. After a while, you'll start to recognise the combo layouts (like the diamond, etc.) and then it all speeds up again. Well, until you unlock 5 glyph spells and then the whole cycle begins again as there's a new raft of patterns with loot glyphs.

Regeneration should last for 4 turns, but it also stacks. There is also a bug that has been fixed for v1.03 whereby the Status Resist perk can also resist Regeneration... D'oh!

Thanks! I'm assuming others might have the same issue since many gave upgraded phone or at least iOS. It also might be an issue you have with people trying to purchase your Mage sale etc...

Looking forward to getting the new version shortly!

I was holding off on answering this to avoid any questions about my obvious bias but...

If anything, I'd say it was like Dungeon Raid meets 10000000 meets Puzzle Quest with cute characters and a bit more humour. But that's just me.

A proper Asian version is in the works for Singapore by our friends at Chorus Worldwide, but won't be ready for a couple of months I'm afraid.

Man, those dragon battles are intense! Challenging, but possible.

Eyedrops, I swear I'll never make jokes about you again. You're fantastic.

App is crashing all the time once I tap "Start" in the Menu - both on my iPhone 5 and on iPad 4. Sometimes it doesn't even make it through the start screen animation.

Not enough time right now to go through every page on here but everyone appears to be able to play it. I'm on the latest iOS on both devices. Anyone here with the same issue?
