Having a lot of trouble finding the ingredients I need. I only have two dragons left to defeat, but I don't have the ingredients to make the equipment that defends against their elements. Is there any rhyme or reason to the drops? I've tried every location and I keep getting stuff I don't need.
Monsters have a chance of dropping one of up to three different materials. Let me know your current level and the materials you're after and I'll look it up.
I actually managed to beat all the regular dragons. Now just have the final boss (I think). He keeps healing for 11k HP every time I make a dent. As for materials, I need those blue swirls (is there a way to check up the name?), the orange and grey thing, and some horns, but the horns I've been managing to find.
Magic Sparkle is what you're after. Could be tricky to find depending on your level as it's one of the rarer drops. Banshees or demons (not Spleen) - up to Level 14 Unicorns - up to Level 16, although these are pretty rare creatures It looks like the rest drop from early magic creatures (Goblin Shamen, Centaur Warlocks, Tengu, etc.) or from bosses (Treant, Raijin, Banshee Queen) so it's quite possible that you'll need to hoover them up early in the game. Don't forget that all of your crafted gear carries over in to a new playthrough, so you won't have to harvest as much the second time around.
Oh, I didn't realize that. Some materials can only be looted early on? I'm level 18 now, so is there no way for me to find those? I keep getting sludge and bones, sludge and bones.
It looks that way. We might give it a bit of a re-balance when we implement the new Adventure system for the next update.
What do you have planned? Any higher level adventures that can be replayed? I beat the game and I'm enjoying the arena, but it's hard to top my score without a source of income. The quests available don't give much, so it feels like a huge grind just to earn enough for potions for the arena.
The plan is to basically re-create the original game's format as the Adventure system. By that I mean that each location will have a number of Adventures (2-3) that can be unlocked in sequence. Each has a particular range of monsters that is fixed, rather than just a pool of monsters from which it picks a range based on the player's level. This means that you'll always be able to meet certain monsters in these locations, even if otherwise you'd be too high a level for them. So it will be mostly used for filling out your Bestiary or picking out particular materials. As for the arena - you were never supposed to be able to use items in it, hence Great Traveller Mike's comments about losing his pack. I guess it's a bug. But one that could play in to our hands if we ever get around to introducing an IAP for extra gold...
If no items were supposed to be available in that mode please fix it. I agree the concept works best without access to items.
I'm really enjoying this game. My one request to the dev would be for iCloud syncing, or any kind of cross-device sync. I'd love to be able to continue the same game across my iPhone and iPad.
Touching Arcaders! We're tinkering with a Christmas update. As well as featuring the obligatory Christmas-themed story arc, it should also address the odd bug or two that still remain. See how I said that with a straight face? Anyway, we're trying to get something together for the start of December.
Not explicitly, but the new Adventure system will enable you to be far more specific. Of course, you might have to ask somewhere on this forum to find out which adventures the relevant creatures can be found...
"This puts an end to the other puzzle rpgs for me. The gameplay is deep, with excellent spellbattles, combos, items, upgrades, character customisation. No timers or iaps, everything is included for play when and where we want finally! It even has a nice plot and humorous quests! Try it out, i loved it!" Posted since 1st November, just renewed it for the current version
I think it would be helpful if you could touch the material icons when crafting to see what they're called, or from what creatures you got them from (it could hide creatures that give those materials up if you haven't gotten it from them yet).
