What a fantastic talk, Alex and Leanne! Alex, you are a natural public speaker! Aside from the game developer's story, what I like a lot about your talk is how you humanize your story. I think many gamers are too frequently and too quick to act snarky toward the games they play and the developers who made them, as if they themselves can make a better game. Too often they forget that the majority of indie game developers are struggling just to make ends meet and are not trying to screw every last penny out of their fanbase for a game they spent every ounce of their energy making.
Thanks for the fixes. I'll go rate it now again. I just finished the game so I am sad and happy at the same time. I am missing a few from the beastiary so might try to find them as well... What a great game. Thanks guys.
i just progressed the story quests enough to unlock the combo spells.. what a gamechanger!! the status effects were OP when used just by the enemies, but now i too can have a blinded, bleeding, poisoned enemy at my mercy Seriously, this game is gold! best puzzle-rpg i have played, and i believe i have played a lot! Especially the spell effects are very satisfying! Only improvement i would still suggest, is to take the spell grimoire with you in battles, since with so many combos, it can be difficult to remember at times what combo does what, or when you want to take out all 3 zombies at once and you can't remember wind/metal/wind/metal for bladerain If there's no update coming soon, i wil lgo renew my 5 star rating for this version!
I've been making mad progress in the story, and I can't put it down. I just got the 6-glyph upgrade, and I think I'm at the max glyph pouch size, so I'm able to dominate so many quests. Is there any downside to doing a summon with 6 glyphs? At one point, I saw a "0 exp" thing fly up from my character during a battle, but I don't know what it was for. Do you not gain experience from kills while a summoned character is in your place? Is there a way to call your character back to battle if you want to do a different summon? I noticed you just do the 4-glyph spell if you match 6 of the same glyphs while a summoned character is in the battle. Anyway, this is on my GotY list for sure. Even if I played other games more, this one is one of the most original of the bunch.
There should be no downside to using the summons. In a future update we may look at introducing 6 more summon-only spells - that is, super powerful 6-glyph spells that can only be used whilst the relevant summon is present. It's something we wanted to do prior to launch but we just ran out of time. Post-launch we've just been bugfixing And this is why we love this forum. I tell you, if people made their iOS purchase decisions based only on this place, we'd be doing very well thank you. As it stands, no-one has heard of us.
Just came in the mail today. Very comfortable and well made. Here's the pic as promised And here's the link to the store again for anyone who's interested. http://www.redbubble.com/people/glyph-quest/portfolio?ref=carousel_portfolio
Damn! You be good looking bro. Anyways, how long is this game? Or how long does it take to complete the whole game?
I reckon you could play through the story in a weekend. Whether that would be long enough to get all of the gear or fill up the Bestiary is another matter. Also, that's before you get to the Challenge mode. If you're serious about leaderboard chasing, you're probably going to want to hit a very high level before you try it. Which will take longer than the weekend.
I dunno how I missed it, but now that I know how to make combos and that they're more powerful than just matching one element, this game is so much more fun. I feel like an idiot for not realizing it sooner -- I thought the strongest spells were chains of one element. And I was wondering why I couldn't use all those fun spells my enemies were using. So much more fun now!
Say - would you mind if we uploaded that photo to the Facebook group so people can see how awesome the hoodies are in the flesh?
Done. https://www.facebook.com/glyphquest/photos/a.416162748517083.1073741829.409022712564420/559542064179150/?type=1
Does anyone have tips about crafting? I'm level 15 and apart from upgrading my pack, I haven't crafted anything -- is it worth it? Are there particularly good items I should try to make?
Original Game Yes the same was true of the original Glyph Quest, the combos add a new level to the game, it also is great for keeping a chain going
If you tap on the item to be crafted you see the effect. Essentially a boost either in offence and/defence to a colour and sometimes a resistance. If you are stuck on a fight try crafting something that offers resistance against the attack you are facing. You equip stuff in your home base.
