In the shop you get descriptions for items if you tap on them. Also you can sell unwanted stuff from your pouch there.
Here is some strategy for those that are looking for it: One of the mechanics not in the previous game that took me a long time to figure out is that of the 'extra glyphs'. Midway through your first play-through, you will be able to connect five glyphs. Most of the useful and powerful spells are only four glyphs so....what do you do? It turns out that as long as you have made the core spell, you can tag on a fifth glyph on the front or back of your spell (IMPORTANT: As long as this glyph isn't an opposite of any of the glyphs used to make the spell). Why would you want to do this? Because: 1. You might have chosen the skill already that allows this extra glyph to make your spell more powerful. 2. It helps you clear unwanted glyphs from the board, which sometimes facilitates making longer chains. Hope this helps!! PS - Sorry DEVS, I bought you game the instant it came out. I hope your sale helps and it doesn't bother me one bit. I want creative artists of your calibre to be successful above all else. Fingers crossed.
Believe me, I want artists like this to be successful as well. The real issue here hasn't even been addressed. Indie devs continue to release their apps with zero preparation - Failure is all but inevitable. Can you Imagine how bad this story would have been without the two day apple feature or the press TA has been kind enough to provide? One thing we, as a community can do, which is more important than 'telling our friends', is ALL GO RATE this app.
I wish I can buy this but it's not out in my part of the world. Anyone knows why this is not a international release?
@Kat You really need to add gameplay screenshots to the app at the store. I was hesitant to buy it until .99 because I was not familiar with the first iteration and didn't know what to expect. I was hesitant to buy it, while it looked cute and tempted me to buy it for $3 but didn't know anything about the gameplay so I didn't. It wasn't until it went down to $1 and looked at youtube vids and decided to buy it.
I believe the developers mentioned much earlier in the forum that they are updating the photo asap but as they were launching the game the way apple has the App Store they were shocked that they couldn't make the changes and the current photos the thought were placeholders or something.... If I didn't play the first version I would be in the exact position as you since the current photos don't show the gameplay at all.... Great game! This is a really great game, I'm enjoying it immensely! As it's been said already, I think that the app store images should include some images of gameplay (Obviously, you know this by now ). Your shots of Glyph Quest on the App Store are great. It’d probably be worth it to fix a couple bugs in Super Glyph Quest and resubmit to add the images and video (etc.)...if you haven’t already! A video would help a lot (using Reflector or the new feature in iOS8 with Yosemite). Showing the gameplay would make the app a lot more appealing to people not ‘in the know’ or who just saw it on a site (review) or on the App Store in passing. It might take some time to gain users and to reach a tipping point from word of mouth. The fall-off after two weeks doesn’t have to be the end. You don’t have to stop sending codes out to other reviewers and sites. Every little bit helps, for sure (as you probably know, you’re not exactly new to this!!). You certainly have a chance of getting featured again by Apple in another list (I think I’ve seen a ‘Great Puzzlers’ or something similar and other categories that this game would fit into) or after an update. You never know How about some sort of marketing push using the original Glyph Quest? There must be a lot of installs, maybe an update of Glyph Quest with a quick popup telling people that SUPER Glyph Quest is out, what the new features are etc. Maybe something in Super Glyph Quest that grants users something awesome in the free game...not sure if that’s possible for you but it could give the paid app a bump. You probably know all this, but thought we’d throw our two cents in just in case! Good luck and to reiterate (not that we need to), your game is awesome!
I've been on medical leave for a few weeks but what the Hell I'll get it on this. Next two people that pm me will get a copy.
I recommended the game to my pals and gifted it to the ones that were reluctant to buy it themselves. Will continue to do so. Still have two bad dragons to kill....
v1.02 is finally live! It features: Screenshots, for those who like that sort of thing. Bug fixes for the Hatoful story arc (Actually get to meet Wallenstein) and Barry's Mead (Royal Jelly drops). Fixed sound bug with glyph selection noises still being heard even if you turn the sound off. Many more fixes coming in v1.03 which I shall be submitting now, so expect it in a couple of weeks. The grand sale experiment is currently scheduled to end on November 5th, so if you haven't already - get it while it's hot!
I really like the game - as the first one. I bought it for the full price and I'm glad that I did it. I really appreciate the support in this forum. From a user view, some of the new mechanics are not explained properly. So for new user, there is quite some barrier to get familiar with the game. The hard fights in the first third of the game have a lot of frustrating potential - sometimes just because you are not aware of the spell mechanic and from when on you can use two glyphs etc. It took me quite some time to understand how the enhance the spell lenght from 4 to 5 (progress in the main story, master "Facing the demon" in Wyrdwood). Other questions regarding the crafting, for which I did not find an answer in the forum or the game: - What influence are the staffs having on the spells? What is the difference between 1or 2 glyphs of the staff? Can you give an example for staff of light? - Are the armour/cloth protection absolut or 50% ? - What is with attack / defense meant? Your spells with this element have higher damage and you get less damage by an elemental spell of your opponent? What is the level for 1 or 2 glyphs of more/less damage?
Hey Bulk Paint, How come the App text under the icon wasn't fixed in this update? I should think that's fairly easy to do?
Because this version went into submission straight away and you hadn't told us about the text by then. It's fixed in v1.03
Each icon of the staff is a 10% bonus. So the Staff of Light (2 Lights) = an extra 20% to any Light Damage you do. The gear or the perk? The perks confer a physical damage protection of up to 8% for Armour and 16% for Heavy Armour (both at level 3), meaning if you fully spec this out, you're resisting nearly a quarter of your damage. Well, damage from things like swords, axes, claws and teeth. It won't stop spells. The Armour robes cuts physical damage by 10% as well as Metal damage by 10%. Attack adds the bonus to any damage you do of that type. Defence resists any damage you receive of that type. A single icon in Fire Defence, for example, cuts any fire damage you take by 10%. All of these things stack, BTW. So I guess the maximum physical damage resistance you can get is 34%.
I let this slip off my radar but seeing all the brouhaha I had to grab it. Kinda follows that saying "no publicity is bad publicity" # So what's it worth? A buck? Three bucks? Ten bucks? Who knows... all I know is that it is an elegant game with great art, music and gameplay. Also doesn't constantly beg for IAP like a lot of paid titles. You'd probably pay ten to thirty bucks for this on the 3DS. I feel for any independent devs - between the constant flood of mediocre, look alike apps that bury the quality titles and the race to the bottom with prices I don't see how any of them stay afloat. Hope this particular dev hangs in there... it's good stuff.
Thanks Bulk Paint - Everything clear now Wish you all the best regarding the selling aspect! I enjoy in the meantime the game, recommend it to friends and keep the finger crossed.
I would never have figured out combos if I hadn't gone to this thread. I tried all the AB two-glyph combos, decided I was missing some key element, and gave up. ABAB is not something that would have ever occurred to me, and after all the combos of ABCD failed, I can't imagine how I would've gotten to ABAB. I may have missed an in-game explanation somewhere, but I think it would be better to have it made more obvious elsewhere in the game.
