Partly, but mostly a publishing deal kinda thing. Chorus do a bespoke version of the game in Japan, China, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore. Therefore we're not allowed to release the original version in those territories.
There is an issue we're seeing involving Game Center. The work-around involves disabling Game Center before pressing the start button. It's not the best solution, I'll admit...
Bulk Paint, Does the Shaman staff protect from blindness from ALL types of enemies? Or just from Goblins? It is 100% resistance? If not, what percentage?
Forumites behold! I am pleased to announce that I think I've found and fixed the Game Center crash problem. I am less pleased to announce that v1.02 is still awaiting review and therefore v1.03 (which contains this fix) is probably a week or so away from release. Stupid busy time of the year is stupid. Anyway, thanks for your patience and happy questing in the meantime!
Glad to hear ya fixed the Gamecenter issue! I've been holdin off on really playing til its patched so I'm pretty excited (and yes too lazy to disable/reenable GC to play)! I got a bunch of backlogged games in the meantime, anyway.
Bulk Paint, I now have the full compliment of spells. Pleased (and surprised) to see the depth of casting strategies now. Can imagine that you have given a lot of thoughts and experiments in deciding how many spell glyphs you put in this game. I am wondering if they glyphs are truly randomly distributed, aside from the same rule that the new glyph will take a form of one of its neighbors. With such a small glyph space, have you run any automated simulation to determine how frequently a player can "always" (or "almost always") run a way to increase the chain? Also, how many of these spells can incapacitate up an enemy so it won't attack? Mudslide is one example. What about blindness? Any others? Sometimes I get message that the enemy is incapacitated briefly, but then it attacks next turn anyway. Got confused by this status? Lastly, is it possible to get all of the materials to build all of the staffs without going on adventure missions? As expected, the character leveling is getting less and less frequent because the XP needed is so much higher. This means that you won't get new abilities very quickly, and I get the impression that the material drop rate is actually less than before (perhaps this is just memory recall bias).
No. Not at all. That sounds like a very sensible thing to have done... We did manually check out what it would be like with the addition of the two extra element types on the largest board to ensure that it wouldn't get too crowded. What we discovered from this was that we needed to reduce the loot glyphs - hence the loot perk. The board will only ever hold up to 3 loot glyphs depending on your level of Loot perk. There are 10 combo spells that incapacitate monsters in one way or another - either Snare, Blind or Confuse. When inflicted with the status effect the monster has a base chance of resisting it each turn - this is to prevent a total lockdown scenario which was something that was possible in early versions of the first game. I shouldn't think so, although bear in mind that this isn't linked to level - rather just the materials and money you can accumulate. If you are hell-bent on acquiring gear, the Gatherer perk is the one for you. Also, bear in mind that we don't wipe your equipment when you start the game again. So I suppose you could game the system that way.
Very nice... "to prevent a total lockdown scenario which was something that was possible in early versions of the first game". This was why I asked the question! Because I was thinking of this exact same strategy. It was how I beat the first game without using even a single potion (offensive or defensive) For this game (at least for this build), this is clearly not possible. Discovered a serious bug. I am at the mission in which you are awarded a RoboHorn Of Summoning. Now my store is all messed up. I can't buy or sell the item. Instead of the dollar amount and buy/sell button, it is displaying a placeholder string "12345678". Huh? What do I do now?
Yeah, someone has pointed that out. You may also notice some of the items in front of it have the wrong text. This is fixed in v1.03
So any temporary workaround you recommend, aside from not doing that particular quest at all? If so, how many additional quests will not be unavailable because they are all contingent on completing this one? Any quest bug that I should watch out for?
No, you should be fine. The quest where you get the item is at the end of it's arc. You should still be able to use the item fine in combat - although you've only got one of it and you can't buy any more yet.
True! My roommate was from Singapore and English, Tamil, Malay, and mandarin are the official language with nearly everyone speaking English and a second language...
Actually, I am thinking of loading from a previous iTunes backup and redo the quest, but then NOT to click on the dialog pin to get the item. If I do it this way, will this workaround prevent other dialog pins from appearing that may be at the same location? Also, please fix One Horn, One Eye quest. This quest is ridiculously unbalanced against the player character. The poison effect is far too frequent and too severe, even with health potion aplenty. Further, at least in the many times I tried, there is a seemingly bias against light glyph appearing, thus making it even more difficult to cast healing or health-stealing spells. The level is obviously meant to be played once you have the staff for poison resistance, but the level should be winnable even without.
Feel bad you have to go on sale so soon, having said that the sale won me over. Not that the game isn't worth more but I've got a backlog a mile long including some pretty seriously great games so this might not get played for months, years or ever. Good luck with the sale though
This damned game has kept me playing almost non stop since the day i bought it.... I am loving every bit of it, i even like the grind. Artstyle is superb, balancing is quite good and the writing is witty and motivating. This game is worth every cent, i would gladly pay a second time and more, just to support it.
Bulk Paint, Three questions: 1. [Never-mind... Figured out the answer myself. There is ABABA or BABAB 5-glyph spells. Just AAAAA 5-glyph spells, with or without creature summons.] Don't understand the 5-glyph spells. I tried many ABABA pattern. Many of them said Null Spell. Why? How am I supposed to know which elements are compatible? Don't they all work? Are there spells in which ABABA works but BABAB does not work? If "palindromic" (sort-of) or "reversal" property is not obeyed, that is very bad. Can you list all of the spells that tangle, snare, freeze, snare, and other ways to incapacitate the enemies? I am having a hard time figuring this out and want to experience with a complete list in hand to try to incapacitate always an enemies with one of these spells on the first strike? Also, pertaining to RoboHorn Of Summoning store bug, I ended up replaying from a backup and decided NOT to click on the dialog pin to get the item. If I do it this way, will this workaround prevent other dialog pins from appearing that may be at the same location?
