That is always an ugly way to die! I got 2nd place on Rocket Silo earlier with 456. Still, would need to pretty much double that for Wario64's score :/
Ok I just noticed I only have 60% of the unlocks and most stuff locked are new characters. Thing is, other than the 100 crates one and stuff, I don't know how to unlock more of them. Does anyone know?
I asked Vlambeer on twitter about the third character being blacked out on the unlock screen, their reply @TylaUrrrlez The third character is her & someone kidnapped her until 40,000,000 crates are collected! So that's neat, and they've posted a few bug fixes that they've corrected as well. Here's hoping for some extra IOS exclusive characters! Either way, I'll still be playing!
this game looks super fun, like meatboy. would like to try it out first. seems hard to control on the size of the iphone. I should just buythe darn thing!!!
This game is really fun, and I've recommended it to everyone with ears. With that said however, I've got a few complaints about things that I think detract from gameplay unnecessarily. 1. The biggest problem is an inability to move the buttons. It causes so many unnecessary deaths. The A and B buttons would feel much more natural side by side instead of staggered. It is an unnatural movement to move your thumb down instead of adjacent when making repeatedly fast presses. The sliding function helps with this, but it still does not do anything for guns that require multiple taps in mid-air like the revolver and dual pistols. Why not make these buttons moveable? 2. The hit box is just a little bit too large. I understand this though, because the game is that much harder. But I feel like I'd have more fun getting a higher score than dying all the time and thinking "well this game is kind of hard I'll switch to a different casual game that is more casual." Other than that, fantastic work! I eagerly await the next update.
Lucky for you they've already addressed both of those things on twitter and are working on fixes for a future update!
I wish that we could have the arrows closer. I feel like my thumb, even though it isn't tiny, always misses the buttons. I hope that Vlambeer will allow us to have customization.
I don't understand the "larger hitbox just makes the game harder" justification. There's no reason one should have to guess if an enemy is going to hit them or not. If the hitbox was meant to be larger, the sprite should just be larger. This way, at least we have an accurate visual representation of just how hard the game is. I mean, yea it makes the game harder, but in a similar way it would if the game said you got the revolver and disc guns shots started firing and I'm certain nobody would like that!
Is the hitbox size inconsistent? In my experience it isn't so I've leanred to play around it. Is it only on the iPad? I've seen no hitbox issue on my iPhine 4s. The controls have never bothered me either. I like how the game is fixed, it makes the high scores meaningful since we're all playing "the same game."
no, the hitbox is not inconsistant. Its always too big. Yeah, you can adapt to it, but the problem is it ends up feeling like a cheap way to make the game more difficult than it needs to be. It feels like poor game design. The game is hard enough without having to calculate how much extra space you need to allow for a jump to clear an enemy. I have finally started to make a bit of progress though. Last night I managed to get to 11 crates several times and I was feeling a little more in control of things. Its a bit easier to manage on the ipad than the iphone for me...
Woohoo! Got 44 on Moon Temple! Now I've got SFMT unlocked on all three. I noticed a bug in SFMT. It's not game breaking by any means, but it says I got a new high score every time I die, even if it's one crate. LOL.
