Difficulty definitely seems toned down, SFMT feels like normal pre-patch to me...kinda disappointed. Especially since I just got a new high score in Construction normal (1337!)...I feel like I cheated. Is the new difficulty intentional or some kind of bug? I see scores being higher than usual on the leaderboards right now

i have seen it, and even Moonwalking(Walking backwards) monsters... but that was b4 the current update

it doesnt bother me since it's not trying to kill me, so i just kill it and keep on going

Could it be the jump+shoot thing in the new update?

is it just now, or could you always go through a flamed enemy? Just shoot the flamer and run at anything you want. I'm doing it in SMFT construction site.

Normal seems to have become more endurance focused than it was. Hm. Maybe we could just call it an easy mode.

I'd definitely say normal has gotten easier, I got 309 on Construction Yard last night where my pre-patch best was 118.

Think I'll mostly work on SFMT scores now. Regardless, still loving this game and have probably played over 10 hours. :)

I don't think the easier difficulty is control related, especially since I didn't have a problem with controls before the patch. The levels seem less denser contacted to the amount of enemies before the patch. To me, normal is now easy and SMFT is normal from pre patch. It totally screws up the leaderboards now that the average score has gone up after the patch, should have been an easy difficulty if they intended to make the game easiet

Agreed, and I've seen your scores pre-patch. The concentration level required for that is massive. An easy mode implemented to avoid diluting those top scores would have certainly been preferable

+1! I don't understand at all why a dev could possibily change the difficult level of a game that's only goal is to get a high score. All previsouly obtained scores are devalued by that. Why not add an easy mode and everyone would have been happy?!

The new camera iPhone update is FREAKING AWESOME! (The camera pans up or down based on where you're at).

That was my only knit pick, now it's fixed!

Ok so now Normal is a new Easy mode and SFMT is normal? As far as difficulty...

As others have already said, I'll agree also.
The way I see it, the way the game has been for the past week before the 5mil update, the way I think Super Crate Box was intended to be played.
With that said, I'm talking about the difficulty. Normal really wasn't your average "normal" game mode - it was alot harder, and it was the same on PC.
Now we have what seems to be a simpler, less congested and arguably less-difficult mode. In my opinion, I would have rather seen a new game mode introduced, specifically for the masses as it were, as the "easy" game mode or such. SFMT seems to be the new normal mode in contrast.

Also, mate, your scores pre-patch were definitely impressive on Game Center. Now with the "easier" normal mode alot more people, I would think, will attain these high scores, but maybe not to the difficulty you played through. Awesome job!! :D

Exactly. A new mode - a new high score table FOR this mode. Would have worked wonders, and no confusion between the "new and the old" game mode scores.

I love the game, don't get me wrong. I've spent quite a few hours collecting those crates, and going in and out of the top 25 leaderboard regularly enough (pre-update). I haven't even attempted a new high score yet (this is for construction, normal) since, but it has been interesting to see how many people have quickly bumped up their scores. I think I'm currently enjoying getting the last of the unlockables I don't have as of yet, and then maybe I'll end up back in the big leagues ;)

Also - this game has ALOT of potential. It's already great, but I feel there is so much that can be added. Different game modes, different customizable control schemes, characters, new weapons, new levels, co-op modes, online multiplayer, versus mode, really alot to think about ;) Keep it up Vlambeer and co., you're doing an awesome job!! :D

I really appreciate the new slight level shift when the player is on the bottom level so no longer are your fingers blocking all of the action! Made a huge difference for me!

I'm not sure if they actually lowered the difficulty, or if it is just a easier due to the improved controls, but in any case I like the difficulty now. It's still very challenging, but a bit less frustrating. Also the top players can just shift to the SFMT and/or Ambush levels, so I don't really see it as a problem either way. For me it made the game more fun, and as I get better I too can switch to the harder difficulty levels.

Is the iPhone camera shift based on current crate placement or does it follow the character?

I hope it follows the character...

It follows the character. When you're on the bottom half it shifts the display up a bit, and back to normal when you move to the top half (or some such split).

Yeah I see that now. Thanks.

I agree the update is fantastic. I don't think the game is easier itself, it finally easier to play.

Super Crate Box is the most fun I've had for a buck in LONG time (of coarse I don't frequent gentleman's clubs)! :p

It doesn't seem that much less difficult IMO. I do a little better now, but really don't see that much of a change in speed or number of enemies. I've had times were I've been swamped with enemies just as I was in the past.

I've only upped my high-score by 1 since the update.
