I think weapon-specific game modes would be fun. It'd be interesting to see how many crates you could get if each and every one had a katana in it. : )
I think some different modes in general, perhaps less focused on crate collection, would be welcome. Ambush mode is just stupid; your strategies can't be used, and there aren't really strategies to use in their place, because enemies can just appear anywhere randomly, killing you instantly or trapping you and then killing you. Normally you have to play smart to avoid getting trapped, but in Ambush mode, luck is an even bigger factor than usual.
Wow! I just blew an hour without even realizing it. This game is extremely hard to stop playing. This game really hits that sweet spot! I had a couple of ideas that I think would be cool: Any chance we could have a kill tally in the game? I mean I get that it's all about the crates but it would be fun to also see your kills rack up as you play. Also, I was thinking that it would be nice to see my average number of crates to show real skill progression rather than just your best game. I'm sure that number would depress me right now, but it would be a nice touch. Regardless, great job and keep up the good work! Can't wait for the update, by this time tomorrow we'll be well past 5 mil.
I think a multiplayer online or bluetooth update wuld be amazing. Better yet! A splitscreen multiplayer on the ipad , some new maps and weapons would be nice as well
What would be really cool is to take your average number of crates per game and plot that average on a graph so you could see your skill level grow over time. That would go a long way toward keeping me playing every day.
Please guys, yes the port is excellent but let's not fall into SCB adoration without pointing out a major gameplay ios flaw : - you can't jump and shoot at the same time, it's a major SCB technic and it needs a fix right now To be more precise, you can jump while holding fire with weapons like minigun but firing will stop as soon as you push the jump button, preventing us to use one of SCB fundamental technics
^THIS or a progress chart, where you see something like (crates) 35....................x 30 25...............x 20......x 15...........x 10.x 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 (playtrough) Average: 25(this is just a random number for my chart) keeping track of the last 10 played games, and showing the average at the bottom for some reason i always enjoy looking at stats Note: I still haven't played the iOS verion, so don't flame me if it already exist xD I'm reedeming a card atm so i'll play it soon enough xD I still haven't played this game on iOS, but for this i would suggest a Jump+Shoot button?
Yeah, Muffin Knight let you be able to jump and shoot by pressing both buttons at the same time. I remember there was even a bug with it if you did it with your back next to a wall, you'd slowly fall down. Also you could have hovered with the dragon. I think Robot Wants Kitty had this multiinput feature as well.
It s not a bug, in SCB it s an advanced technic to make use of the minigun, jumping your back to a wall while holding fire will make you slowly slide against the wall. I asked MK's dev to add a jump+fire button, and while most people agree with that, they never added it. However, while it is not completely perfect, you can jump and shoot at the same time in MK, i usually hold fire with the tip of my thumb while pushing the jump button with my thumb's "palm", it does the trick although it's not perfect and completely accurate. I will never be able to compete with my SCB cpu's scores it the technic is not implemented (although I find the touch controls in SCB completely up to a gamepad, maybe behind a keyboard)
Ok so i got the game and started playing... controls feel great! ok so i did the Jump and shoot at the same time thing... yeah i cant do it... game wont recognize it... BUT..... here's what i did.... with full auto weapons like Machinegun here's what i did.... Held down the shoot button, and did a quick SLIDE towards the jump button and back to the shoot button.... I stop shooting for a millisecond and jump, you can see you will stop shooting for a quick bit, but you'll be back at it again... of course you'll jump low, but it helps a LOT with the damn skulls... Once i unlock the minigun i'll try the wall hover to see how good this sliding tech works Side Note: iTunes reviews for this game are REALLY pissing me off... there are a LOT of 1-3 stars crying "this game is too hard".... there was one saying Muffin Knight is better? what is he smoking?!.... Casual Gamers are ruining games... everything is too hard for them .... -__- this reminds me of Zombieville 1.... MikaMobile actually replied to me saying how everyone complained that ZV1 was too hard, and that's why ZV2 is so damn easy... Will future games be ruined by people who think everything is too difficult?... i need more Dark Souls now....
This game has made me face some of the habits I've picked up during my last 30 years of gaming. I CAN'T STOP JUMPING ON THE BAD GUYS HEADS! It kills me everytime but I just don't seem to be able to re-wire my old, tired brain. Tis good though
My 2 cents on SCB vs MK: I love both games but I think MK is much better as an IOS game and for many reasons beyond just a simple preference.
I agree with what those "iTunes reviews" are saying. And by the way, I finished Demons' Souls (my all-time favorite game) and am playing Dark Souls. Also, I did not write that iTunes review, but I prefer MK and I am not smoking anything. Peace...
what is this game? Devs this game is a terrible waste of time and money...please concentrate on new concepts and leave these anachronistic games in the grave
The SCB fanboyism is pretty silly around here. As an old school retro arcade type game? Sure, it's good, but it's not the epic work of art some are making it out to be. I prefer MK hands down to SCB, the contest is not remotely close. MK holds out the carrots: one more perk, one more star for a character, one more star earned for a level. This game holds out the promise that if you just stick with it until the RNG gods drop enough crates in the right spots and you push your skill just enough you can get... even stupider difficulty. I get it, that appeals to some. Of course, some people are down right fanatic about scrotal piercings...
C. Hannum: Epic post! I agree with everything you said and I could go on for paragraphs about why MK is better. MK takes everything good about SCB and refines it and then adds lots of cool stuff. MK also fixes some flaws. But peace everyone; they are both really good...
Somebody call the police quick! Some criminal is forcing foxmulderino to buy games he doesn't want! Somebody please help this man!!! Having said that, I do agree that this game could use a few tweaks and changes that would make it alot more fun. I think the enemy hitboxes are too big. I often make jumps over baddies that shouldclear them but die anyway. In a game like this things need to be balanced slightly in favor of the player or else the game ends up feeling "cheap." I should be able to pull off some close maneuvers but in SCB it feels like I can't. If I get at all close to an enemy I die.
