The short version, X is times played, N, S, A are Normal, SFMT & Ambush highscores. We're working on fixing the bug and getting some people with 3rd gen devices to test with over tomorrow. We hope Apple approves the fix soon! Thanks for the support and for sharing any issues and feedback with us!
That's an issue that was fixed in 1.0.1, but surprisingly, Apple is yet to approve that one, even though it was submitted before new year. We really hope Apple will allow us to put the 3rd gen fix in there with that update before they review it.
This game does in fact have Gamecenter achievements and leaderboards - in case someone is confused by the inaccurate statement above that it just had Openfeint.
Game Impressions Super fun and hard game which controls great on my iPad 2. I have yet to unlock the second area. This seems to be more difficult then that other game ;-), but I will keep trying. The old school graphics are cool, but the sounds seem to stutter a bit here and there. Like others I despise seeing Open Feint. For the life of me, I can't figure why devs use it in new games.
I'm also having the crash-on-start issue. There's a single "thump" sound like the music is just starting, and then it crashes. 64gb Touch 3G (3GS equivalent) iOS 5.0.1
Yep, endless. If you want to try the game out before buying, you can download the PC version for free. http://www.supercratebox.com/
Along with Joypad support, another feature that would really make this the bee's knees is iCloud Syncing, so people like me can play on iPhone on the bus or at work and then continue on an iPad at home. I love that this is Universal, but I don't like having two separate game saves going.
Figured out how to get this going with with my icade and played it for a while. In my opinion, the icade version is by far and a way the absolute best way to play this game. The controls are absolutely spot on with the icade. I have also played the pc version a great deal and unlocked all the levels on my iPad without the icade. I think the iPad controls are easily the worst of the 3. I found myself hitting the wrong button a few times. They are adequate, but I just don't like them very much. Also, while I suck regardless of what controls I use, my score was definitely consistently higher using the icade instead of touch controls.
WHOA! Just checked on appshopper (so it's probably even higher by now) but SCB is already in the top 200 (it's at 128!!!!!). And that's 3 and a half hours after release. Nice!...
Playing the Mac version using the Joypad app on my iPhone is crazy fun. Great way to preview the game before buying it for iOS on the go!
Although this is the original game, I'm not sure it matches up to Muffin Knight at the moment. Jump attacking is pretty iffy, and it's missing the best part: online multiplayer. There's also more content in Muffin Knight in terms of customization. The game is plenty of fun though. Hopefully we'll be seeing a few updates.
I'd probably agree, multiplayer in Muffin knight is really fun and theres more to do overall. This is a good game in its own right though. Incidently, Muffin Knight actually introduced me to super crate box on the PC because of people saying it was a copy of this. Anyone who enjoys either game should definitely also pick up the other.
I agree as well. When you jump and shoot it just seems off and that is an important part of the game.
For some reason I can't entirely explain, while the controls feel just fine on the iPod Touch, on the iPad I feel an urge to swap the jump and shoot buttons. It'd also help to have them a little higher on the screen. This is all my own personal opinion, of course. How do others feel?
I agree. I would like the option to move the buttons around and for whatever reason the jump/shoot button locations is throwing me off.
Woo, just collected my 1000th crate! Now it's time for me to take a break and sleep haha. Btw, we hit 500k crates already! And it's only been like 5 hours since the game has been released! At this rate, we will be hitting the 5 million mark in a few days. :3 Vlambeer, get ready to work on an update!
