I think the dpad needs to be improved on and it should show what type of characters you are about to fight to get prepared.

Question: do the items you win apply stat boosts to all your characters/the main character automatically, or do you have to...somehow activate them? Also, in multiplayer are you playing against cpu-controlled player teams, or actual players? Currently number 4 in the team leaderboards, despite a pretty wonky team. Got there mostly from betting 200 on pushover matches.

Those items don't auto-assign. Go to your team, tap on a character, and before you go into the stats page, you'll see 3 boxes at the bottom left that should be empty, with a "items" symbol that looks like a Gameboy to the right of those boxes. Tap on that, and it'll show all the items you've aquired and what stat(s) they improve. Tap on the one you want, and it should auto-assign to an open box. You can have up to 3 active, and they can be removed to swap out for others if you want. Pretty sweet set-up, and gladly you don't have to pay to remove them or burn them if they're un-assigned.

As far as I can tell, when playing Who's Next, it seems to be a CPU version of an actual player's active team (which is sometimes just one characters, other times it's multiple characters). The actual "live" battles are real-time.

Thanks a ton! This game just got a whole lot easier. I'm not always the best at experimenting and working out what things do, so glad I asked. I probably assumed the Items button on the character screen meant consumables.

One other suggestion: change the colour of the opponents' characters if they happen to be clones of anyone on your team. A purple bear, or bright blue Duberry will make things a whole lot less crazy in a good way.

No prob ;) I 2nd the different color scheme for same on-screen characters. Sometimes things get so chaotic, it's hard to tell if I'm trying to take out my NPC teamate or the enemy Lol

What's the best way to get gold once you're at the level cap? Just grinding areas? Trading in gems? I'd like to see gold as an option in the prize area as well.

Also, is the +100%xp applied to character xp as well as user xp?

Another question. So it appears some characters have different stat upgrades. Meaning Romario only has 1 upgrade in power. Whereas purple shirt eye stabber has 6...Why is this?

As you level up characters, "max" stats occasionally grow. I'm guessing characters have different "max" stats to encourage different strategies and play types.

Did you cap already? I'm at 31, andI was surprised when it went over 30. What's the cap?

Personally, what I'm most interested in is a chart of farmable materials for each stage. I need to get my hands on more of the rare items, as well as knowing where to farm specific upgrade mats for each faction.

Hmmm....as far as I can tell, rewards are random. I've replayed multiple stages at least a dozen times and it's been different drops every time.

The way it has been setup is you can get items/gems/money from every stage at a fairly constant chance, but the quantity of some goes up if you progress higher up each tier of the tower (like gold and upgrade tokens increase in number)

So you can pick any fight you enjoy and just fight away while earning stuff you don't really need to grind the same level over and over. Whether that's good or not I dunno, but I preferred that as a player

Your fighter earns hidden stats automatically by leveling up and in addition, you open up stat slots that you can boost up with some tokens/gold. They will start off with 1 stat slot and it goes up every time he/she levels. A 1-star character can go up to level 20 (20 slots), 2-star (30 slots), 3-star (40 slots) & 4-star (50 slots).

Prophet, you'll hate him in Dungeon Time I guess when he's doing his final boss stuff :X

So, we have the Purple Shirted Eye Stabber... if I could find other characters preferably well-known indie character(s) do you know who would be interested in going into a platform fighter like Super Boys? I'm open for ideas in that area, it was a bit of a silly dream couple years ago that I wanted to fufill.

The Crossy Road guys seem to be quite fond of the whole Indie cross-pollination thing. Worth an ask. I remember the Mikey Hooks/Boots character appearing in an another game, too. Considering so many Indie devs can be found lurking TA, it might be worth a shot just PM'ing a bunch of them. I'm sure one of the more regular regulars could give you a bunch of their usernames.

What the fudge is going on with this game?

The movement stick is completely erratic and oftens sends my fighter in opposite or entirely unrelated directions, or has my character walking forward when I am pressing down to duck and block, hit detection is inexact and sometimes entirely random (Duberry's super fireball pass harmlessly through defenseless enemies if they are within 1-2 character units of my fighter some of the time), and my newly purchased fighter just ate herself (I had two copies, one at level 5, one at level 1, and when the level 5 devoured the level 1, I found both copies gone from my collection).

Add to this subpar writing and spelling, a tutorial which consists of sending the player into what LOOKS like the regular game, albeit without the option to select anything but the next fight but without any explanation as to what is happening, an AI that swings wildly about the place in competence and efficiency, and IAP that both limits playtime through timers AND allow for competitive advantage in PvP, and this might be the worst squander of potential I've ever seen on the platform, as well as the least stable and functional launch I've participated in.
