    Great game

    Story
    Soundtrack
    Gameplay experience
    lots of stuff to open
    upgrades, ships.

The game can lose framerate sometimes on older devices and to freeze at some points but other then that nice work

I would say it's mostly a text based RPG with exploration and rogue-like elements. There is perma-death but it is not too difficult to avoid death if you are careful.

As for progression, you can leave some stuff in a will for your next character to inherit, and depending on what you choose your character can also inherit skills, weapons etc.

Its like ftl meets ports of call - with a more focus on story and choice based quests.

Or like a gigantic and multibranching gamebook, mixed with galaxy on fire or similar space-trading games.

Its simply awesome on pc, but you either need to use the wiki a lot or accept dying some times before you 'crack it'.

My first 10 minutes of gameplay. If anyone could advise me what to do next, where to go? Quite confusing initially?

Yeah it's a lot to take in intially. So you picked up the dude bound for Gaiders Mourn. That is Normally East or South/East of Fallen London (not too far). I would recommend you try to find that and possibly the Salt Lions (also East) so you can pick up a shipment of Stone for London (you need 200 echoes and 20 hold space). Then when you get back to London that shady guy will give you a task to do (and vague directions). Also in London talk to the admiral guy and ask for him to give you a task. He will give you another location to go to. I don't want to spoil anymore so after that just explore and find out stuff, it's what makes the game so enthralling.

    Hope that helps.

Does anyone know if the iPad version includes the Pirate Poet and Cladery Heir content?

On my wish list. I'd buy it now but I have so many games bought that I havent time for. The artwork in this just begging me to play though.
Love the whole concept and saw it on PC ages ago but I've made a vow not to use my work pc for games

This does indeed look the whole world is out there, waiting to be explored. The steampunk vibe of this and their other work really appeals to me.

I can't decide between this or Deah Road to Canada...
Typically I like rogue-likes and stuff.
    Don't have enough for both...

    Please add screen rotation.
Between my case, headphones & charging it's almost a must have to enjoy a game fully.
Surprised a game like this wouldn't have this feature right out of the gate.

So: on the one hand super stoked and appreciative that this has made the jump to IOS. I've been following it's progress since it was hinted at.

On the other hand... ARRRRRRGH IPad only. And I get why, but still feel disappointed. I bought my 6+ because I was fed up being in an upgrade cycle for a phone AND tablet. I remain hopeful that the reports of Sunless Sea running on JB iPhones may spur the dev to make the hop. For the record, I've been running, say, IWD on my 6+ for aaaaaages and it plays beautifully.

    Fingers crossed

Sunless sea is by far a bigger, more involving and imho better game.
But its not really bite sized
Its like ftl + out there + a giant gamebook.
So its really value for money (have played like 30+ hours on steam, just on one playthrough alone).

Drtc is - well - like 'out there' with combat, loot and some customization, and more pulpy feel, but othervise not the greatest writing and less involving.

But im having fun with drtc, it like an expanded but untight version of organ trail....
And good for 5-15 minutes bursts

Thanks for your description. Totaly sold it to me.
Was a bit dissapointed of Drtc cause its just random events and it is missing a lot of the FTL learning process.
But sunless sea seems to be all this. A game i can put in some real strategy.

    Enjoy :)

And remember to not be too proud to use a wiki once in a while.

Yeah dropping the price just days after release is a slap in the face to everyone who supported it from day one.
    Not good business tactics.

I too am a one handed player, console or heavily real-time keyboard dependent games are my bane. I also love interactive fiction and my game dev son is begging me to get sunless sea.

But I'll have to wait on this one. I have a iPhone 6s, but my iPad is an old 3rd gen. *sigh*
