Not a surprise, with a to of zero cost units new players generally try to spam the board but most factions (especially the ones available to us right now) are more than capable of destroying the goblins. But putting them out at the right time and following with spells like goblin rage and goblin invincibility can cripple most opponents that aren't ready for it
Hi, Well, I almost feel sorry to say that I was one of the few who managed to download the game yesterday evening before going to bed I played the tutorial, and a bit of the game, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to waste a lot of time in it. Congrats! I have a few comments on the app, though, that hopefully will be useful: - The app did crash on me for the first time. Not only did it crash on me, but after that every time I opened it it crashed even earlier - like immediately after showing the "Plaid Hat/Playdek" screen. I cleared all apps from memory, restarted, and it worked. iPad 1, iOS 5.0.1, I believe. - The app crashed on me afterwards during the tutorial, when I was just after the "we'll let you take over the game now" part. I did nothing, I was just looking at the board, and it suddenly crashed. Seems like a memory leak. - VeganTnT (I believe) has already commented on this, and I'll repeat it. Having to explicitly click the top area of the iPad when your opponent rolls a dice is a nuisance. Either have an option to have the dice roll on bottom as well, or allow me to click some place else. It is really very annoying. - Someone else has already commented on this, and I'll repeat it as well. Allow an Undo option/or "reset movement turn" option. More than once was I trying to move a card, and I double clicked on it to zoom in and see what it was, and when I clicked back I was no longer able to move it. After a few tries and tests, I assume it is because of the "Move 0 spaces" button when zoomed it, to which I ask to people who are more familiar with the rules - why would anyone need - or even want - to explicitly waste a movement turn by moving a unit zero spaces? They can just click End Turn whenever they're ready, am I correct? Still, even if there is a good reason for that, either have a "Are you sure?" option for the "Zero movement" thingie, or have an undo. Please. - It is not clear at all that you can play against more factions controlled by the AI. I only found out about it after being a bit underwhelmed with having to play Elves vs Elves offline, only to find out that I was playing a player vs player match. I then went back, and after fiddling around I found out how to set up a match vs the AI. I can't really blame people who are confused about this - it should be clearer. Also, is there a difficulty level selection? Couldn't find it anywhere. - Finally, last but not least, is it just me thinking that this game would be ripe for a Campaign mode? I mean, having a progression of challenges vs the AI, with them playing different challenges and different customized decks would be very, very nice. We could probably also customize our deck between battles. It's not as much about writing a storyline for each faction or whatever, but more about having a single-player sequence of matches that has some sort of progression - it can just be differently-named opponents with different decks, in some logical order. As fun as skirmish is, it does wear out quite fast I guess. It would also be a very good idea for people to have to battle against other factions, and introduce them to them. Also not everybody is an online-gamer. Please consider it. Overall a fun game, and I can't wait to play more. Cheers, Paulo
...have you guys tried to go through the app link in your iPad, on the first page of this thread? That worked for me.
Well... I clenched my cheeks, crossed my fingers, poked my tongue out to the right a lttle and closed one eye as I hit install, but alas... it still didn't work. I was so sure it would too... maybe I shoulda poked my tongue to the left? #
You could try with a new account with my original account and one of the us i couldn't download the game but with the brand new one it did not show me that error
Ah Ok. I thought it was somehow related to a special ability, since the icon is the dwarves' faction icon.
I've been trying since last night and I still can't download. Says its no longer available to download.
A suggestion for a UI-tweak: in the movement-phase, after I move three units, the red bar at the bottom still says "You May Move your Units", though I used up all my movement options (the bar at the right correctly shows I have 0 movement points left.). It would be less confusing for a new player like me if the text at the bottom was rephrased, or would change when all the options for a particular phase are used up. In the attack-phase the same thing occurs.
