On the fence with this one. Are the starting decks fun? Most of the online buzz is about the Master set's races like the Mountain Vargath. Hold off on this till the new races are released?
Did you get the everything unlocked pack? If so, you have unlocked all the champions, but decks are limited to 3 champions and 18 commons a set. You have to build a deck where you can pick the ones you want.
Yes (unless there is another IAP I am not aware of) When I use the deck builder, some champions are still locked some how and I am pretty sure I do not have 3 champions on the deck.
You HAVE to have three champions in your deck. They are the three cards on the far left row (top left corner to bottom left corner). If you drag one into your deck it will get tossed back. You have to drag a champion directly onto another champion to replace it. You might want to try restoring your purchase in the inapp store as well and see if that helps.
When you are in the Deck Builder : Tap "Champions"; available Champions for the faction will appear at the the top of the screen; tap the arrows or swipe to scroll through each; "x0","x1", etc tells you how many of each card are in the current deck. Tap hold and drag a card with zero from the top down over another card to replace. Tap hold and drag cards from the bottom to the top to remove.
So... the physical game has now moved on to pre-orders for four second summoner decks, and we'll be lucky to see our four new factions sometime this year. Hopefully we will at least get Agricola and Immortal Heroes from Playdek this year.
I just started playing, and it's way too hard for me. I even lost the tutorial after it gave me full control. are the fire elves or whatever really weak, or am I missing some major part of how you're supposed to play? I bought the IAP bundle because its only a buck now and you'd have to be crazy not to get it...so is there another race/deck that makes the game more accessible to beginners? so far, on the scale of ascension to nightfall (in terms of accessibility), this is definitely on the latter half's end of the spectrum.
Yeah it is hard isn't it? I bought it when it released, and I still don't get it. I just think it requires strategy and tactics, two things that I lack lol.
Just chiming in to add me too. Still haven't figured out how to win a single game of Summoner Wars. In terms of increasing difficulty: Fluxx Can't Stop Ascension Penny Arcade Nightfall Food Fight Summoner Wars
SW is like chess. You have to think ahead, know your cards, and understand magic. The latter part is key. Know that discarding cards is a very important element, killing your own units, and just doing everything you can to get more magic. General rule is to save magic for heroes, use spells like reinforcements for units or pull them only as necessary, and take it turn by turn, managing space. You'll get there.
Do I understand that the Everything Bundle 1 includes all of the reinforcements but none of he Summoners? How important are the seemingly not included (?) Summoners IAP items? This is a very early IAP comment; were the "Summoners" added more recently?
Nice; thank you! They should clarify it includes Summoners in the description for oblivious people like me.
There are barely any mechanics in Food Fight... My list would be (in increasing order of difficulty/learning curve) Fluxx/Food Fight/Can't Stop Ascension/Penny Arcade Nightfall Summoner Wars (can be easier if you're willing to spam GD/TO/PE)
Is there anyway to get the AI to play all the decks from the everything bundle? Only seems to play from half of them unless I'm missing something.
SW is nothing like chess...alot of the game is about good positioning sure, but over half SW is raw dice luck. Plus the idea of killing your own units for resource denial is so backasswards I still resent it. One reason I refused to play DotA. Its a good game for luckier people than I am, but every time I lose I feel the "random" dice screw me. Not that I made any terrible tactical error. Plus I still argue the factions need rebalanced OR maybe those other factions from the tabletop game help mix things up. I always end up coming back to get my card game fix. And I always end up deleting it. Quality ios game port that should be more popular than it is though.
If you want a card game fix, Cabals still rocks and it has a board. Problem: sync only. If it was async, it'd be the best app ever.
