PE is the anti-dice faction, but please don't overuse PE and GD guys. Yes, it's much easier to win with them but give the other factions a try too, they are überfun!
I totally agree. My most played factions are JE and FK because I find them to be fun and some creative thinking is required. If I played just TO and GD my record would be outstanding but that's really not important. Unfortunately, to date, I still have no clue how Cloaks can be effective. The Commons seem soooo fragile! I'm ready for new factions. Playdek, take my money, please!
CL is all about getting in sneaky hits, using Spy effectively, using Assassinate devastatingly and not being afraid of getting Vlox into the fray. I'm really beginning to see how JE can be crazy with their events and I'm thinking of putting an Owl in there, or even Magos.
Kitkeat, ouch! Going 4/4 with a charmed Gorilla has to be one of the craziest things you can do with CL.
Yeah I think JE is going to be my favorite out of the non PETOGD factions. Starting to get the hang of them, they have very strong common cards. Currently running a gorilla beat down deck.
Thanks! Your dice rolls did seem to get better toward the end. You had my anyway though. I let Elien get wounded too early. Good game!
Oh, you're OnlyPhoenix. I guess I didn't pay enough attention to the sig last time. I only keep potential invites for SW on my friend list so I don't have to scroll through a bunch of extra names every time I make invites, so it wasn't anything personal, Kapil. If you ever become interested in playing me again I'm game.
Amazing game, Camzy! It came down to dice at the very end. Great playing. I was going to pick PE for our next game, but accidentally smacked the Rematch button. I'm kind of glad I didn't. I'm not a fan of mirror matches.
Yeah good game. I should have lost a long time earlier. You had lots of opportunities. I still think that match up is by far the worst. GD have such an astronomical advantage it's just plain unfair. I cringe when I play GD VS VG on either side...
After playing a good number of games, I've found GD and PE to be the easiest to win with by far. GD heroes are just ridiculous. Baldar and Gror completely devastate all factions but PE. Even TO can't compete with these two factions. TO VS GD is definitely in favor of GD because of besiege walls. That thing knocks off Ice Walls instantly, and gives you magic. I just hold onto BtW until the ice walls come out and then overwhelm them with the extra magic. It's also nigh on impossible to rush a Dwarf player because of defenders, and Oldin is also pretty durable as well as the bonus wall defense thing. That said, I really want some new factions. There's only so many times you can play GD mirrors until you get bored!
The dice hate me today I had 14 shots to deal 5 damage over two turns to take down the summoner with Goblins and I failed. He gets one chance. 2 shots to deal 2, and I die >.<
Great game Kitkeat! I really thought you had me there as I had no walls left to summon anything, I'm just glad I was able to get Et- Baul (sp?) in the field before the walls came tumbling down Honestly I won based on a lucky roll of the dice though. One thing I did notice to keep in mind in future games against FK: Never use your summoner to kill a cultist unless you absolutely have to...I think you did and that one extra HP loss from the Death Curse allowed me to luck out and win
ah, my schemes was foiled! hahahha... anyway, good game. i don't blame luck a bit. I loose to all the good players here. Keep playing those games..
so, i just picked up the "everything" bundle. Just wanted advice from the regulars which team to start with? just the tutorial elves or is there a better team to start learning with? Thanks in advance
So.... How bad is the learning curve in this? See that the factions are not at all balanced which concerns me... Don't want it to have 7 factions but everyone just uses 2 of them and you just lose if you don't as well.
The easiest factions to learn are Phoenix Elves, Guild Dwarves and to an extent Tundra Orcs. I would recommend staying away from Cloaks, Cave Goblins and Fallen Kingdom. Jungle Elves and Vanguards are reasonably easy to learn as well, but JE has a deeper metagame.
The learning curve for a few factions is a little steep, and yes Guild Dwarves and Phoenix Elves are easier to win with than the rest, but an experienced player can beat those factions. The easiest way to avoid playing against the same factions over and over is to play against people you can talk with at a forum or in chat, that way you can straightaway say that overusing those two factions isn't on. The next set of factions dull the advantage that PE and GD have to an extent, but GD still remains one of the toughest factions to beat. PE and GD are also two of the most boring factions, with very straight and simple strategies.
