Well, i always think of the fighter as is, without its ability. And its ability is a critical hit. I never factor in the ability in my planned moves. That way, getting extra turns are absolute wrecker bonuses.
Well, I love random dice games. But Fury does need a cap just out of common sense. Even at something crazy like 3 times. Sad to hear there is actually opposition to this and from a designer. I wonder how many devs of both the the physical and ios game there are here sometimes.... But its fun even if mostly a gamble. I honestly wish more games were as ambitious as SW. A sci-fi spin off of SW would make me quite happy.
Yeah I can can see that being OP, it just never seems to kick in more than once for me The charger seems a bit more balanced, at least it's an effect once a turn. The luck based unit that I'm starting to dread is the FK phantom...I've had no fewer than three of my champions get possessed within the last several days with its ability. Of course MY phantoms are always too lazy to possess my enemies champions
I've never yet seen a Phantom working for me or against me. But yes, they're a very annoying swing unit and it's good that their swing ability is associated with a 6+ roll, which is what uncapped Fury should be associated with. For 5+ you should get one set of move, attack, Fury roll but the successes after that should need 6+.
Oh dear. 70 odd games online with Cave Goblins with an okay win ratio - first game against another CG team they play the Eater and then eat my beserker... I didn't realise you could feed the Eater your opponents commons - that champ just made my team...
Yes the Eater loves a well balanced diet of lions, gorillas, dwarves, elves, thieves, knights, orcs and even walking corpses He'll eat his goblin overlords if he has to though...best to let your pet eat away from home though!
The fighter :/ I never play TO with them considering they're so luck based and I try to minimize that as much as possible, but to see someone hurt my summoner for 3 health on 4 successful furys is very annoying!
Some people like high variance options. I think it's a strength of the game that it can support factions with more or less luck, to suit different tastes.
talk about being gang up... Camzee surprised me with 3 commons after I have defeated 2 of your mighty champions.. LOL Thou shall not rush in... painful lost..
90%?! Really?! Sorry, that's off by a wide margin. The two you cite have records that are statistically significant but neither wins anywhere near 90%. You can't win without rolling hits on dice. That speaks volumes about the game. The reason it is so successful and so entertaining is you can attribute your wins to skill and defend your losses by dumb luck. Nothing wrong with that. In fact, it's a fantastic formula. Btw, Many of us disagree. TO are overpowered but in a game of factions, it is impossible to design virtual equality. It's a non issue. However, I'd like to see players play more factions, instead of relying on one or two. There are players who play the same faction over and over and frankly, I'm getting tired of it. I've played FK more than anything else because I think they are a challenge to build a good deck with and play well. And FK are not all that strong (although I've had a Reaper as high as 6). In any event, the meta game will change dramatically when new factions are released. I cannot wait. Take my money Playdek, please.
I am trying to use all factions and I understand why many people just do not. I also disagree with who is saying 90% wins is skill. There is skill involved, that is clear. But in a game when I saw multiple losses because of rolls and wins because of rolls, I feel luck plays a much stronger role. In fact, I love t win or loose to skill and I hate to loose because I hit ones and twos for two or three rounds in a row. In this game, two or three rounds of bad rolls is The End. Nt to mention that factions feels not properly balanced.
Which one do you guys think is the most balanced faction? Or if that is a little difficult to answer, which ones are overpowered or underpowered?
Bit tricky because they all have their pros and cons. I'd probably say PE is the most balanced, and likely the one they built all the other factions out of. I think it's more about matchups. TO VS CG is an immensely unfair matchup imo, and the CG player needs a lot of luck. GD VS VG I also feel is an unfair matchup. GD have an advantage.
VG vs GD is nowhere near as bad as VG vs PE. that's just a horrible matchup no matter how you put it. not impossible but tough as nails
Speaking of people trying out more factions, the Five for Fighting tourney still needs 5 more entries, so anyone interested in some diverse matchups should join in.
