I am bad with all of them. The game is great but it required time and I do not have. I have still few games and I have decided to finish them instead of forfeit, but not sure I will play again. Ther are too many cards and too many effects, it requires too much more time t get into it than ascension or magic. I will pick nightfall tomorrow (on sales) and probably discover the same. My apologies for the only game forfeited (not sure why my stats say two, maybe because I forfeit once with the AI) ... I would have lost anyhow. Ps: I have indeed lost only once so far and by forfeit, but I fee like I have no clue what I am doing and it has gotten to me.
I feel your pain as I'm getting thrashed too but try to hang in there as I am SLOWLY starting to get the hang of it and I'm getting a feel for the factions I seem comfortable with. I probably would do better if I spent a few hours on websites reviewing strats and hints (like I did with Ascension and Magic) but have not gotten around to it yet. To everyone I'm in games with, I'm having fun but often I can only access my turns a couple times a day...even though it's async I want to really take my time and ponder my moves instead of blasting thru like ascension
Apple continues to ignore PlayDek. They put old games in their "New and Noteworthy" (Cut the Rope: Experiments...again!?!?) and didn't feature a single PlayDek game in their new promotional "Turn-based Games." Turds
Why do you bother? We all know this game, for as great as is, it will not appeal the masses as some silly game like that one of throwing a paper ball into a basket. As long as playdek get still enough to go on and give us these ports, that is all we should hope for.
While quitter comments are being thrown around....please keep in mind that rehab is also for quitters. You wouldn't try and disuade them, now would you? We all know Playdek = crack. Don't be whack.
I just tweeted the AppStore account that they need to give some love to Summoner Wars. Everyone should do the same. SW wasn't even added to the "Turn Based" feature but it has Outwitters :/
agreed that it takes more strategy than Ascension but hey, they're not quite the same game really. I think I'm collecting more looses than anyone of us here but I'm not quitting, in fact just getting started. Play us, have some fun... definitely need more players. I think if I can only have like 1 or 2 games in my iOS devices, this and Ascension would have taken up that slots. And it's an understatement.
I'd suggest to stick with one. I stuck with FK for over 14 games and I like it. took a long time to play things well. heck even now I still make amateur mistakes I promised not to make anymore. but if you stick with you'll it you'll have fun.
Sorry for the delay in playing my SW turns today, guys. The game has been crashing like crazy on my Ipad 1. Deleting and reinstalling hasn't helped.
Ok, I think i over reacted and needed a good night. but am I the only one who still feels to have really no clue? I remember in ascension the was a great post about straegy on BGG whe made the difference or for me and helped understanding. I might need to find one. And nightfall sale has started .... I guess I will feel more frustrated there
POSSIBLE BUG I went to sleep and a game stated I had tens of hours. After one day (or was it three ....) of sleep the game, which I was about to win, ended with an automatic forfeit on me and a loss .... In the stats. Weird this one gets as a loss when a real forfeit not. Plus I stil see three forfeits while I only have one plus this weird automatic one. Do forfeit with AI also count? Edit: actually this was a just started game with KK here and the ony one running where I had picked the VG faction. It is the second time this game disappear. S it s weird it turns int a forfeit an loss from me when I even did not make a move in it yet.
Ops! I think I was just too fast in my last move and it will cost me the game .... I should have taken a coffee first (here it wake up time still). Edit: one round after ... My game has frozen ..... :-( Anyhow I forfeit now since it is 200% sure i lost those rebirth were really annoying. I need to try this faction, TO is boring.
I am sure that if I was not so rush, it would have been a very long match. AI going to try a new faction .... (and probably loses fast, sorry)
So that's one more day of no Summoner Wars news. Almost 10 days have gone by since the release, almost 3 weeks since the submission announcement and even longer since the teaser and gameplay trailers. It's clearly too much to expect for an iOS gaming news site to report actual news about a great developer bringing an amazing, young board game to iOS in a fantastic conversion. They'll probably post an obligatory review soon and wash their hands of the ignorance, just like the Love Me Not fiasco. All the while something like Amazing Alex which is a rebadged, non-universal product has been getting continuous coverage with Eli also posting in the forums and comments to defend the game's and Rovio's honor, talking about how the rebadge has already moved to #1 in the charts and that people have no reason to voice their valid criticisms of Rovio. This is a sad state of affairs and it's hard not to see why certain types of games and certain pricing standards prevail in the app store.
Yeah it's a damn shame this game seems to have had such a muted release. It really is great fun, had some brilliant matches against people on here and so much to learn (still cannot for the love of me get my head around the Goblins!).
Guys, it is normal. The general population does not care about this game, but prefer great games like Paper Toss .... Yes I am being ironic. Anyhow, if you feel TA is neglecting a certain types of games .... Just make your own site and fil the gap.
I don't see why I have to create my own site, a number of sites HAVE posted news and reviews about SW. My issue is not with that coverage, or even Apple's ignorance of the game. I'm leveling criticism against the quality and nature of the news posted at this site, because it's a very popular iOS gaming news site that holds quite a bit of influence with the audience.
I think TA has less influence tha you think and given the many games, they have the right to pick the games they enjoy. Board gamers already know that for a fair feedback and news on these types of games it is better to to to the BGG iOS blog.
