biggest threat champ should go to graveyard. walls to bottom, expensive commons go to top (try to force him to throw as mana)
I am LOVING this game. The only thing that really sucks for me, is I originally started with the Master Set on the physical copy. I HAVE all the SW stuff, but it doesn't hit the table so often that I know the old factions very well. Well, I kind of lied. It's not the only thing that really sucks. I keep fat fingering my moves on my iPhone, and there is no undo button. I have done what appears to be tremendously dumb things that were never my intention. It's like learning a new game. This is not a bad thing, it's easily my favorite iOS game.
Four of the Master Set factions will be in the next content update, which is probably 3-4 months away. As for playing it on a small screen, yeah it's much too easy to make an error. The iPad is a great device for gaming and board gaming especially, I would say invest in an iPad 2 if not an iPad 3rd gen. You won't regret it
No difficulty settings yet. I'm pjft on GC, feel free to add me. I'm with VeganTnT, though, can only play a few turns on evenings, so please make the games last 14 days or so - I won't take that long, but it's better to be safe than sorry Also, do PM me here afterwards, so we can also get in touch via iMessage - it's easier to chat about the match if necessary, or just say a friendly "well played, good game" after the battle! Cheers!
sorry for the delay, was busy painting something funny. Well, I'm playing a few games... and so far gotten my @$$ handed to me. LOL... U be gentle... Somehow I find the element of dice rolling contributes to 50% of the overall strategy. Not a big fan so might try to mitigate. Elf has nice unit which uses "precise" to count as a permanent hit instead of dice rolling. Any other faction shared similar trait so far?
Unfortunately luck plays a very strong role in the game. More then in ascension and magic, I feel. Still in this case it makes it more interesting instead of just frustrating and there are ways to mitigate it a little. Or.so it feels to a noob like me.
woah... continuous lost.. =__= keep em coming. most of the time I lost due to bad play so no excuses there. had some nice games all around so far. Any fav faction so far?
Long time lurker, this great game finally pushed me over the edge to registering. You can add me - Oslan. I've played many of you (I think ). Anyway running about .500 so far. Fantastic game! Oslan
Too early to say. I am now using a custom Orc deck ... But I actually like the faction you are using against me and the green elves (whatever the name is). I might switch to one of those tomorrow. EDIT: BUGS? I get always two notifications at the price of one ;-) and I need to explicit close the application in order to resume a game. App switching to an online game results in the app forever waiting for the server.
I am loving this game, even if the dice rolls can be brutal, kind of reminds me of Blood Bowl in that way, as in if it can go wrong it probably will! Good fun even if I am getting whooped regularly!
I know this isnt directed at me, but i wanted to answer it anyway. I like using the FK much (champ heavy, combo heavy, but no board gimmicks) but I also like the consistency of Penix(!) Elves. I tried GD and TO, but i didnt like their playstyles much, although TO's champ muscles are very tempting. Right now, i kinda want to try and be decent with Cloaks. Their too gimmicky and looks like the the most difficult to play effectively.
As far as I can tell, there's only on level of AI difficulty. Haha..its always annoying to set things up, then due to bad dice rolls get no hits in. Then on next turn, proceed to lose my units. Or the AI rolling, I think fury (the ability to move again after attacking), multiple times in a row and killing most my guys and building up enough magic to pull out a champion the next turn. lol.. Part of the fun though and gives everyone a chance. Even beginners can win with a dash of good luck. I think I may finally buy the bundle soon, and start going online against some of you guys. Just need to get used to having a losing record.
Every turn based tactical game has the "miss" factor, which is the chance of a unit to miss it's attack. Now, because this factor exists you have to plan your tactics more carefully. You may or may not take the risk.
I don't think Neuroshima Hex either unless I'm understanding it wrong. But yeah..just depends on the design of the game.
I've had some stellar matches with several of the folks here - a lot of the games end up being nail-biters by the end! Just know that there have been many instances where I wished I had chat so I could say to my opponent "Ah-ha, well played...well played..." I had some experience with the Master Set factions (the Shadow Elves and Benders being my favorites) prior to picking this up, but never really appreciated what a fantastically designed game this is until I had it readily available to play at all times on the iPad. Yeah, the luck of the dice rolls can win or loose you the game no matter how strategically you play, but that's part of the excitement. I think without that element of luck, the game would be far less interesting. Don't be afraid to get out there and play with some real folks once you've gotten a feel with the AI. I've learned so much more about what constitutes a tactical error playing a few games against real people than I ever would have vs. the AI. Playing against real people has also shown me the weaknesses in a few of some of my catastrophically bad deck builds It's a shame this hasn't gotten much press outside of the enthusiast circle - if you like board games, you need to be playing Summoner Wars!
