I play Advanced War, Super Robot Wars, Close Combat 1 and 2 from Atomic Games, Combat Missions (strictly the CM1x versions), MtG, and so on. It is not the strategy part I find difficult, just that how to best use the "units" on the field takes more time to master. Different clans have different play styles, so there seem to be a lot of variations out there. Just not as "casual" as Ascension and NightFall to me.
I find this easier than Nightfall. There are just a lot of factions to learn about and to experiment with, not to mention the whole exercise of making custom decks.
Any strategies for playing against the Tundra Orcs? I'll admit I'm not very good at this game, but I'm like 0-8 against the orcs (my last five games were all against orcs which is why I'm now annoyed Between those freeze events, the summoner's ice wall ability, that little punk that can attack again if he rolls a 5 or higher...Seriously, my last game I watched as he killed one guy, then moved in killed a second, and then moved in to hit my summoner with 3 more attacks. I let him be because I didn't think he could do much damage. Lesson learned there. I so hate these guys.
Fury Flingers!! They can really sneak up on you I try to keep my units staggered when I see fighters. It may be luck based but I don't set them up to play leap frog either
email them on their email and let then know about the release. they might not even be aware of it and no one has told them. if anything, it's good that they didn't announce it right away since it had launch issues. just send a email to [email protected] I've submitted stuff before and they're been good about it. I'm willing to hve them the benefit of the doubt for this one. and about ascension review, the base game was "ok". it's not the best ever, the expansions REALLY added that extra layer that it needed and really took of from there (for me at least). I think if Eli had actually played the physical board game for a while and then reviewed it, he would've given it a better score because many other reviewers agree to the fact that ascension in the beginning seemed like a dominion clone but then really became its own entity.
They didn't know? Are you serious?! You're saying they don't even know about what happens in their forums?
Tundra orcs summoner is the hardest part for me. You usually have to win by atleast a champ to be able to take him out in the end.
Guys (and ladies I know) ... Do not do like ascension, where you all claimed noobn status and fell for it and started playing online ... And got crushed!! I have not even played with all factions yet ... Fr some reason I find the orcs well suiting my lazy playing style.
Here are the ones I added on GC as ive seen you guys asking to be added. ------------------------- currymutton FPE tecwrtr sapphire_neo ashraamcpc kitkeat rekirts skarsnik relsirc cprloe Ashenor ---------------------- The ones I've seen mentioned to be added but dont have their GC names: Gabriel.Voyager pjft
I take offense to this list because my name is not on it Edit: I should also mention I only do long games when I play board games since I can only make moves when I have a few minutes in my day
Is anyone else here avoiding playing as the factions with the highest global win rates? I've been avoiding TO/GD/PE/JE, but I tried GD once just to get my confidence back up.
As I mentioned above, I am not yet ready to be crushed. There is someone here still owes me a turn of TTRP... Blame it on Ascension!!!
Not really just playing the races more my style of play. I wouldn't worry too much about global win percentage cause pub games versus tournament games play alot different.
