Also couldn't buy the bundle. It's not worth paying double just to get the extra armies now so I'll wait.
Here's a total noob question...what are the reinforcement packs? Just a few better guys for each faction? Also, most of my reinforcement packs have the Buy button disabled. Are they not available with this release? Are they included in the Everything Bundle? TIA!
The reinforcements are sort of a booster pack that you can add to your base deck. 3 new champions and 2 new commons. Some of the iAP are blocked because you don't own the base deck. The Mercs pack is like a wild card reinforcement deck that works with any deck. And yeah, they are in the bundle. Everything is in the Everything Bundle
Just bought each pack individually. $16 is officially the most I've spent on an app. One complaint, PlayDek. The text beneath the home screen icon needs to be shortened. Looks bad.
So each army is really well balanced but are geared to a specific play style. The reinforcement pack gives you new units to change that up. An example. Jungle Elves use lots of cheap units to swarm the board. Don't like that? Switch some archers out for some Gorillas which are 2/2 and have Pummel so they can sometimes attack twice in a row. Playing against the Goblins? Add some elephants and you can walk right through with Trample
Just to add to this, the game allows to you to save built decks so you can test out various compositions and choose the one you like best or the best set of decks you like.
I own EVERYTHING Summoner Wars in physical form. I'm extremely happy this is out. But the only problem is I can't buy anything in the game. It keeps saying "Item is being modified"...
Okay! I'm all bought up... I mean caught up onwards to online with the warm fuzzy feeling of giving Playdek what the app is actually worth instead of what the app store price erosion demands it to be.
And a quick note on the deck saves - if you are using multiple iOS devices linked to the same account, you can enable iCloud on both and your deck files will be synchronized between the devices if you have an internet connection. This is covered briefly at the end of the deck builder help text. We're happy that many players are now able to download the app, and we're working on trying to get Apple to address the IAP issues as well.
I was able to purchase a deck so I can try the multiplayer and ... One page of games? Actually three games to be exact. Seems a bit weak considering the buzz this is getting. Get online, people!
Finally let me get it... Noob question here:- let's say I only had $2.00 in my account to buy 2 packs for now (planning on buying Everything Bundle in near future anyway) which two packs would be the most beneficial at the start to lay my hard earned on? Thanks in advance.
There's no good answer to this. All the decks are balanced but they all play differently. Do you like rushing the enemy? Do you like being sneaky? Do you like being defensive? Do you want to kill units or focus on crippling the enemy by destroying their walls?
What on earth am I looking at? Strangiato, thanks for getting the download fixed. The game is fantastic and I really want it to do well, but but BUT...!!! Having to learn the unit powers is part of the game, and sure, we have to zoom to view the card text... But its ok, after some plays we'll know the units right? Wrong! I can't believe the Unit Names are unreadable at the full board view even on an iPad! It's a huge problem IMO and will cost the game lots of fans and in reviews. Even after I know the units, I can still barely identify what I'm looking at. Imagine buying the board game and having illegible unit names on the cards. Strangiato PLEASE prioritise this basic usability over other features.. Replace the unit names with a normal readable font at board zoom, and in the players hand. Do what it takes to make the names readable. It will improve playability no end and is no more than this great game deserves. Thank you!
Some of that can be attributed to people playing with just friends. I haven't played a random game of ascension in months. There were roll calls on BGG and PHG and a lot of people signed up.
