Hi again ChiroVette - and thanks to Eoghann for the suggestion! The only thing left I can think of is to activate Airplane Mode, and see if this helps. If it does, then the lag issues are probably a result of connectivity problems. If you decide to run with this test, I would appreciate it if you get back to us. I've tried to test the game on several iPad 3s now, and I do not experience any lag issues.
Something weird, albeit minor I've noticed. A bit of "tearing" of the textures behind the character's heads. Happens with any character.

Hey Jeppe, thanks for the answer. Okay, so Airplane mode seems to take care of most of the problems. The only issue I seem to still have, even in Airplane Mode is that the on screen "buttons" are sluggish and often don't respond. I see this when I pause the game, try to activate either the Mega Head Start or Score booster, change screens, activate characters or custom boards, etc. It isn't a horrible problem, and FYI, the whole unresponsive button thing is a new development and (unlike the lag you helped me with) this latest issue seems to have started the second I downloaded the newest update, Tokyo. So here's the million dollar question: How do I play the game outside airplane mode now? Because if I am isolated from online then I would miss things like my friends list, as I beat their high scores (and only my own high shows) and more importantly, since I am working on the Letter Chaser Award, I need another 14 or 15 Daily Challenges in a row and when the ipad is not connected to the Internet, I won't get the daily challenge letters until I die and then go into the iPad settings and shut off Airplane Mode. I am hoping that the test you gave me to do is just that, a test, and that there is a solution other than playing forever in Airplane Mode. Oh and I checked at three different wiFi locations, both at home and at work, and the Internet on the iPad at least seems to be all right at all locations, and only Subway Surfers looks to be affected in all locations. So is there a more permanent fix for this? There doesn't seem to be an internet problem at any of my wifi spots, so I assume this is some issue with the iPad and not with my actual connections? I was thinking of doing a system restore from iCloud. Would this reset the Internet or connectivity of the device?

i found something funny this is when about the first day of tokyo update Spoiler and this is about 2 days ago Spoiler it's using galaxy s3 mini and this is when i'm playing with my mom's s4 mini Spoiler and i found another bug, if i play and get a super mystery box+normal mystery box, and spam tapping the screen after got caught by inspector, suddenly, the character start running by itself on background while i'm still opening the mystery box, and i think this is came with tokyo update *sorry idk how to use spoiler
So it would seem that the lag is a result of connectivity problems. To keep on playing in Airplane Mode is - as you say - not a proper solution to the issue. However, we now know that it's probably fetching data from Facebook that's causing problems. So a possible solution could be unlink Facebook, maybe update Facebook (if you are not running the latest version) and link it back on. Here's what you should do: 1. Close Subway Surfers completely (from the multitask bar) 2. Go to phone settings Facebook sign out from there. There should be no account logged in. 3. Go to Facebook App - Account Settings Apps and Websites Subway Surfers Remove application. Once removed, close down the app completely from the multitask bar. (3.1 Update the Facebook App (if you are not using the latest version)) 4. With all the above closed, go to phone Settings Facebook and log in. 5. Open the game Subway Surfers click on Friends and then click the Connect to Facebook button. You should receive a pop up requesting access to your basic profile info and list of friends. Press OK. I really hope this fixes the issue

Hey Jeppe! Okay, something weird: First off, I am not using a phone, but an iPad 3. That isn't the weird part lol just info. The weird part is that when I go to settings and scroll down, clicking on Facebook, it seems to think I am not signed in. Meaning that the FB menu comes up, with the Settings menu unger the FB icon, then under that, I get the User Name field and under that the Password field, but nothing is entered in them except "[email protected]" in the email field and "Required" in the password field. Under that is the "Sign In" button. So what's weird is that when I click on the Facebook icon in the apps pages (regular iPad pages not the Settings menu) it logs me in automatically, indicating that I should be logged in from the Settings menu, right? Now the only thing I can think of is that I changed my password recently because FB annoys the crap out of me! The reason for this is that my phone keeps getting every stupid little thing that FB wants to send, PLUS people keep sending me messages on FB thinking I am logged on because my phone is. So I changed the password and DID NOT enter it into my phone so that this crap would stop. Now I may have done the same thing with the iPad, I don't remember. Thankfully, I am not constantly getting crap sent to my iPad from FB, but now I m wondering if there is something odd in how my iPad connects to FB that is causing the Subway Surfer's problem? Meaning, why can I just sign into my account by tapping the icon on the apps pages and yet the iPad doesn't see me as logged in in the Settings page. Here is something else that is odd: I just signed into FB by clicking on the blue icon on the app page AND then opened the settings menu, and guess what? The settings menu is still acting as if I am not signed in, even though I am. So the long and short of it is that I can't sign out from the Settings menu because apparently the settings menu doesn't see me as signed in in the first place, even when I am. I have the feeling that whatever is going on here is what is causing the problem with Subway Surfers. Any idea what to do here?
The plot thickens... You'll have to determine, whether the issue is related to Facebook connection or general connectivity issues. Even though it seems you are not logged in through the Facebook app, you could still be logged in through a browser. Please try the following: 1) Log out of Facebook through browser. 2) Make sure you are not logged in on Facebook through Facebook app or Subway Surfers. 3) Close all applications. 4) Turn the device off and on again. 5) Make sure you are not logged in on Facebook through browser (Facebook site) or Facebook app. 6) Run Subway Surfers while online. In this case, if there's still performance issues it's related to the general connectivity of your device.
São Paulo Update Hey guys, We are ready with our next update, and this time Jake and his friends are Surfing the marvelous Subway of São Paulo, Brazil. In São Paulo you will be able to compete in a weekly Top Run race against other players from your country. The goal is to set the top score. Each time you set a new top score, youll achieve one of of ten Ranks. If your score is among the 10% best, youll reach Rank 1. If its among the 20% best, youll achieve Rank 2 - and so on. The ranking is dynamic, i.e. you can be surpassed by other players if/when they set a better top score than yours. If you finish the week in Rank 1-3, youll be rewarded with a gold, silver or bronze medal, respectively. The medal will be visible on your profil picture in the Friends list. In this manner, all your friends will know of your great feat! Weve been working long hard to get the Top Run feature just right, and we really think it adds a new and exciting dimension to the game. As usual, the São Paulo Update also comes loaded with new in-game objects, Outfits and board plus a new special character, Edison, the brazilian soccer kid! Great update! Loving the new characters and features! However, I am a little unclear on how the Top Run works. It says two days left, so how does it work? I put up a 4.5 million score just for kicks earlier today, and was number one for a few hours, then, of course (as I expected) someone passed me quickly with 5 million. Now what I want to know is, right now I am nursing a 4+ million score on my iPad (between pauses). So if I want my run to count toward this Top Run that "ends in two days" when should I end my run to get the maximum score counted? I ask because, say I have 20 million showing in two days. If I die, with all the coins, it would end up being a 30 million score. So is there a time deadline (and in what time zone) that I would have to kill myself, if I haven't already crashed, to get the maximum score registered? If not, and I opt to keep going, will the system count the score that is showing at the deadline, say if I keep the run going? Oh, and if you use keys and hoverboards, does that invalidate the score? My 4+ million was without boards. One more question: are the scores cross platform? Because I looked on my Android device with Subway Surfers on it, and the names on the top scores list are completely different than the ones on my iPad, even though both link to Facebook. Hey Jeppe, okay that seemed to take care of about 95% of the problem. I also did a complete system restore from a very recent backup. It looks like I still occasionally get unexpected stutters, but they are very short in duration, nd the way I combat them right now is I use hoverboards on any long runs just in case an unpredictable stutter causes me to crash. So far, it has not been to much of an issue since I took the steps you recommended. The iPad doesn't seem to have connectivity issues in any other application, so the problem I face now is that even though I am still under warranty from Apple, I don't think that they would replace or repair my iPad based on no other symptom but "Subway Surfer intermittently stutters." So I am not sure how to proceed here. Also, the other weird issue in the pause menus is still present. Button presses (such as to pause the game, check my Awards, boards, characters, and the screen to get to the menu where you buy powerups and skip missions is still often requiring several button presses to get to the menu.
Hey, this is kind of cool. I am sure this score won't come close to holding up over the next two days, but I have the top score in America so far. I ditched the run because I didn't feel like spending keys lol.
how is the top run works? why I compete with US player, when I'm in Indonesia and my mother compete in Indonesia, but so hard to connect, still failed to connect to top run until now, but she can connect to her FB edit: now my mom s4mini can connect, and she compete with indonesian, and i'm still with us player
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, ChiroVette! When the current week's Top Run draws to a close a countdown timer will appear the same place as for instance the "2 days left" notice. You should aim at finishing your run before the timer goes to zero! We've included a little buffer time after the race has officially ended - but to be completely sure to get your score counted, you should not overrun the countdown. The Top Run race is weekly. The system will not remember a score/run that's started in a previous Top Run week. So for instance, if you start a run in Week #2, you'll have to end the run in Week #2. After a Top Run has ended there will be a day and a half before the next week's Top Run begins. Not at all Quite the contrary, using keys and hoverboards are a big part of getting the top score! The scores are cross platform. Are you competing in the same country on both devices? The system is set up to show your Facebook/Gamecenter friends (that are competing in the same country) AND 10 random players from your country (they have a sticker with a blue flag on their pictures). The 10 random players can vary, but the same friends should be shown on both devices.
It could be because you've bought your device in US? It is easy to change which country you are competing in, though. Just head into the Settings menu -> Country and select the country you want to compete in
No problem! I wish more people would log onto this forum and talk a lot more about the game. This would be such a cool forum if more people participated. Possibly dumb question: If I am in the middle of a run, how can I see the countdown? lol Or am I even able to? In other words, the timer may be counting down and I may not know it while I am doing a run. Also, does the run have to officially end in order for the score to count? In other words, I noticed a while back, I was beating my current high score with just what was showing in my game. Then at some point, my game just crashed back to iOS. So the total score (counting the coins factored in and such) never tabulated. BUT the system showed that high score, which was active in the run right before my game crashed, as the high score not just for me but all my "Friends." Will this do the same? I mean, say I am running, oh I don't know, 30 million, and don't want to stop. Will the Top Run system still see the 30 million as part of the competition, or do I then have to stop the run, and with coins, get the full 45 million or so in order for that to count? Does that make sense? Cool! I am in the US, but I will check the other device I have the game installed on (an old HTC Evo LTE which I connect with via WiFi) and see if it is the US I am competing in. I am sure I am, though. I have never changed countries. Though these devices are all made God knows where, so maybe by default I am listed in another country and didn't know it. Okay, so here's the question of the day: how do I know where I currently stand in my region, which is the USA? If I check the scores and it shows me at the very top in the number one slot and other than my friends there are some randomly chosen players, then that means I have no idea where I really am until the very end of that week's Top Run? Or is the Rank1 group that is yellow or gold, (the one I posted a screen capture of above) showing the absolute top players? I would like to be able to monitor where I stand currently between runs if that's possible.
