    It does, trust me!

The power jumper challenge missions are absurdly time consuming and tedious. For example, having to collect 2,000 coins with the power jumper takes a ridiculously long time, especially considering that they appear I think on average once every 50,000 points AND, even worse, without holding a magnet, you get 13 coins per jumper.

    Youch!

This translates to needing somewhere around 150 jumpers to get that challenge. The other jumper challenges aren't quite as tedious, but they are pretty annoying. I always skip the jumper challenges.

Honestly, for all the reasons mentioned above, I avoid the jumpers like the plague and almost never pick one up intentionally.

I fully agree with you, Eoghann.
We really want to implement a system like iCloud, but it is a big feature that takes a lot of time and resources to implement correctly with our save data.

I can assure you that our next titles will support a backup system.

Hey Jeppe, dunno if this has been mentioned yet (haven't been as active in this forum, but I've definitely been playing): It's rather minor but the graphics tend to clip a little when going at high speeds through the longer tunnels. Not sure if clipping is the proper word, but I do notice white lines on the ground in the longer tunnels. They most often appear in the darker shadow areas. I always thought it could have been my phone starting to show its age but I'm getting it on the iPad Air as well.

A tiny little bug is that the coins sometimes spawn pretty weird on the tracks. On bushes or small barricades that you have to jump and can't roll under; the coins spawn in a logical arch over them but at the same time a line of coins spawn through it.

    Thanks!

The subway in Subway Surfers is created with different environment sections. These sections are put together dynamically while you run. The white lines you are seeing is where the sections have been merged.
We’ve been trying for a long time to get rid of those stupid lines, but they seem to be putting up a real fight :)
Honestly, we haven’t yet come up with a good solution, I hope it’s not too disturbing.

Yes, I’ve noticed that as well. Don’t know what’s exactly causing it, but it looks like we’ll have to take a look at our spawning system once again.

Nah none if that stuff is distracting or anything. Just things I've noticed along the way.

Another thing. I just beat my own score and got a celebration screen (nice change by the way, first time I see it so don't know how long ago it was implemented).

Hey just another bit of feedback:

I am not a big fan of microtransactions, but I understand the necessity for devs to implement them so that we fans of our awesome games (Subway Surfers in particular!) can support you guys. However, you may want to rethink charging $2.99 for one little character. I think that it would be a better value if you offered a character gallery, say of all the limited characters ever offered in case people missed some, and give three or four characters for that price.

I know that $2.99 isn't a lot of money, but I think you would stand a better chance of selling more if you gave more for our money. By the way, just so you know, I am going to most likely buy the character if for no other reason than because I want support Kiloo Games and ay THANKS for the hours and hours I have played SS, but I felt that you would do better by offering better value to the masses. ;)

Probably mentioned before, but I only recently realized there's a way (no cheating!) to get on top of the trains without sneakers and without a ramp-car. The same trick can let you get on top of a bridge--if you have sneakers--without a train car to jump on first:

Jump and land directly on top of a barrier (might have to be a non-solid one? those seem taller; not sure) and then jump up from there. Tricky to do, and you often trip even when successful. But it's possible to do without even tripping. The timing of the initial jump is so speed-dependent that I'm terrible at it, but if you see a collectible coming up on top of a train, and you REALLY want to get up there, give it a shot. You can probably use this to get from the ground to the top of a bridge with no sneakers or ramps, but to do that you must not trip on the barrier--since you'll trip inevitably on the bridge.

P.S. Just wanted to add my kudos on crash-handling. I experienced one crash long ago in SS, and forgot about it, but I just down ran my iPad to zero battery (on purpose) while playing SS and the machine shut down, which is essentially the same thing as a crash. I assume the same thing happens if you pause, switch apps, and SS gets dumped from memory:

Any prize boxes you earned (daily challenge, missions, picked up) during the interruped game get delivered to you at the end of your NEXT game. They're not lost. (I think it even remembers points earned during the interruped game, because I see a score-related mission seems to have made progress.)

Short of a full save-and-resume for the current game, this works well!

Yeah I had noticed this as well. It's pretty awesome. I wish that the game would also give you the coins you collected thus far when the game crashes. I remember once I was up to about 20 million points (with score booster) and I had something like 170 THOUSAND coins showing and my game crashed. I definitely didn't get to collect those coins. All that effort ended up wasted from a coin collection standpoint. Would be awesome if they added coin-save to the crash-handling. ;)

Holy Crap, I am having an awesome run, which I started for about 20 minutes last night, continued on the train to work early this morning, and played here and there during my work day, between patients when i could, and then on the train home after work, and a little tonight at home.

Man, the pause screen is a real Godsend in this game, let me tell you!

Okay, here is the run in a nutshell so far:

I am at 26 MILLION and have collected 211,000 coins on this run and have not used even one "Save Me" key so far! This is my best run to date either on my Android phone or my iPad. It is INSANE to me that I haven't used a single Save Me key and am at 26+ million. This is only half of my high score, but on that run (52+ million) I used my first Save Me Key at about 12 million! So even though my current score is about half my high, I never got to 26 million before without a single key!

    A few odd things:

For some reason, I have picked up about 20 keys so far on this run, maybe more!

Since about four million, I have been frozen out of any challenges, because the three challenges up for me now include "collect exactly 200 coins" and "Poke A Friend," which I obviously can't do without ditching my best run ever! I am pretty sure that with all the coins I collected, I will pass that score even if I end my run with about 30 million showing because coins add to the score. On a side note: Kiloo PLEASE PLEASE, oh please make a patch allowing us access to the main menu without ending a run and LOSING all the coins and score collected. I would really love to be able to pause the game, go into the purchase menu, and pay to bypass the two challenges so I can always have challenges that I can actually do in game! :)

THANK GOD, I set up my Elgato Game Capture HD last night and hooked it up to my iPad and laptop to record this run! Once it is done, I will create a highlights video and post it to Youtube of this run. The only thing is that since the Elgato requires a PC connection, I only recorded the first THREE MILLION and started the recording up again at I think it was around 16 million to present. I didn't set it all up on the train and didn't bother doing it at work, so there is a gap between about 3 million and 16 million.

I never did a Subway Surfer video, and truth be told, it would have to be edited when I am done anyway. So far, I think I have over four hours into this run (Maybe about an hour recorded) and I am hoping to get an truly insane score, so maybe will create a 30 minute highlights video once I am done.

    Wish me luck!

    Update:

I am up to 41+ Million points so far and have over 340,000 coins collected to this point. I created a very short little video teaser of the last couple of minutes of the run so far.

Ugh... I really hope the fix for the super sneakers glitch is coming soon. It is really taking the fun out of the weekly hunts when I accidentally jump too early to catch the item and miss it when it used to grab it no problem. It's strange how this bug only affects the weekly hunt items and nothing else... I just hope it's actually not a "design choice" to make them harder...

    Mumbai Update

    Happy New Year, guys!

It’s time for the first Subway Surfers update in 2014 and this time around we are going to magical Mumbai!
The update introduces a new spectacular jungle, city, beach and cave environment - I especially love the cave tunnel :)
… And I am sure that Jay the athletic champion would love to go exploring the exciting settings with his limited Bengal Board!

However, the Bengal Board is not the only tiger-like in the update as Frank has brought his Tiger Outfit along!

Last but not least you can collect the lotus flowers in the Weekly Hunt to get the hunt prizes!

If you have any feedback or questions it is very welcome - I will do my best to answer.

Great update! Loving the cheerleader outfit! And Franks new masks are hilarious! Mumbai is great! Please thank your artists for me! They do such a fantastic job. The textures in the tunnels and the houses on the sides look so cool.

I like the hidden landscape and hallway up above (pogo stick). I wonder if the Christmas version had stuff like that? I avoided the pogo stick so completeley that I don't think I ever used it in December! I'm glad I accidentally tried one this month.

Yeah I think the rooftop scenery started with the Xmas update if I recall correctly.

That said, nice work with the update guys! Love it!

Side note Jeppe: do you think an option to sell our power ups would be counterproductive? I have hundreds of boosts and multipliers I never use. Maybe 10-20 coins a piece?

Thanks for the kind words, Eoghann! And sorry to have kept you waiting.

I get your point and really appreciate that you take your time writing down your thoughts :)

We have considered this before, but when balancing the game, we found that it created a number of problems both in terms of User Interface and the actual gameplay. People were reaching the max levels so quickly that the game really wasn’t that fun.

I am aware that a lot of games use the model you describe. It really makes sense to be able to sell the powerups you don't need. I think we’ll have an extra look on how to use the spare powerups, maybe an alternative where you combine them into one super powerup would work?

However, at the moment I hope you have a blast with all your powerups!
