The characters are only different cosmetically. Some are harder to get that others, which means nothing more than that: they're harder to get! If you can get them, you've achieved something many people haven't. If you don't even want them, that makes perfect sense too!
New update: Russia! This'll be great! Jeppe, considering I've unlocked all characters and boards to date; if something happens to my phone and I have to get a new one, will I be able to transfer everything onto it? I've played this game way too long to lose everything like that. Thanks!
As long as you have a full backup of your device (I like to backup to iTunes on my computer, but there's iCloud too--not sure if that's as complete) then every last detail of every app should be restored to the next device. Everything from game progress to photos sitting in the photo roll to your choice of wallpaper. This is one of the great things about iOS! (Just checked and don't see the Russia update, but I know these things roll out in phases.)
something about missions Hi everyone. It's my first post in here. I would like to ask if anyone knows the number of missions there are in Beijing? I am currently in mission #38 and I heard previous subway surfers missions will loop after certain missions. Anyone got any ideas? (I am a late joiner of ss and my first adventure is in beijing)

I definitely understand your concern, Eoghann. I have to admit its one of the features that Ive personally been wanting to support for quite some time. However, progress transfer is a big and complex feature that needs to be done exactly right, so no one ends up losing progress or similar. We are looking at possible solutions, but with a busy release schedule cant give an exact outlook on it. As Adam Immersive is saying, it is possible to make a full backup of your iDevice, it should also save the Subway Surfers save game data. It is important that you dont install Subway Surfers on your new device before restoring, as that will override the progress in the backup. So for now this is a specific solution in the example that you are asking about.
There is no limit to how far you can go Mission sets starts looping after mission number 30, and every completed 30+ mission set will be rewarded with a Super Mystery Box! Missions sets are not changed between the World Tour updates - You will have the same mission set in the next city as well.
Update Havent seen Russia, still stuck in China. So we don't all get the update at the same time? How does that work?
It's an App Atore update. It's not live yet. We're going off the sneak peek they put on Facebook, Russia should be available worldwide on Thursday. We're all still on Beijing as well. Thanks Jeppe and Adam! This is the only game I've invested the most time on (well on mobile, nothing tops my Skyrim/Oblivion and Fallout 3 hours played) and its good to know all that can be recovered if an accident happens.
It's definitely Russia. Most likely Moscow, judging by the iconic buildings they teased on their Facebook page.
