Woah, this update is incredible! Love the celebration screens! I had enough coin for the limited character and board, now to work on those other sweet items. I'll be sending some IAP your way coz I want that camo outfit NOW! haha I'm very happy to see several of the user suggestions make it so quickly into an actual release. Really great job guys, thank you!
The new update is awesome as usual, but MAN, are those flamingos few and far between... About 2 hours of play time (finished Grad School and laying around doing NOTHING for a bit... ) with scores averaging around 1,000,000 points, aaand... I have 5. This is going to be brutal. DBC
You might be right. I thought it was just my impression. Try shorter runs, I've found they work better if you're aiming for the flamingos. It appears to refresh the spawn rate and locations. And you have a higher chance to encounter them after a short distance. That's how I managed 60 dolls last week. I think I'll sit this week out and see if next week dangles a more tantalizing item, at the current spawn rate I don't want to burn out.
The weekly hunt tokens are rare-ish, but not impossible to collect in a weeks time. I managed to get 40ish for the board in a couple of hours, just before the deadline. Hope the rewards are better than the Tokyo one.
Thanks for another update! One new issue: The new boardwalk-style overpasses (the ones where you have a single land to run through, and a train coming at you on the other side) seem to be visually smaller than their actual hitbox. Obviously on this game split-second timing matters--and visuals are the only way we can know when we're past an obstacle and it's OK to dodge sideways. As a result, I'm constantly ruining a good run by dodging sideways too soon as I emerge from those overpasses. The visuals have passed by--looks like clear sailing!--but the hitbox hasn't passed and so I hit it. I think the pillar width (or at least some part at the bottom) should be expanded so it visually matches the hitbox.
God, sometimes it kind of freaks me out how much we think alike... Shorter runs make things WAY easier. They also work for "collect [x amount] of Mystery Boxes" missions... It's weird, I actually got THREE Flamingos within 200,000 points, and then NOTHING for the next million+... lesson learned, right? Worst Flamingo experience so far? Seeing a Flamingo only reachable via Jump Shoes... with a pair of Jump Shoes visible less than 10 yards ahead of it... BTW, Jeppe, not sure if you guys do this on purpose or not, but I like the feeling of "+-" with the Weekly Challenges. It seems like picking up quite a few of them means virtually guaranteed death, which forces me to chose how to play each run... Not sure if it's intentional, but it adds yet ANOTHER dimension to an already great game... Oh, and have I mentioned how much I ADORE what you guys do with camera angles? It appears you have bested your previous efforts AGAIN! LOVE the overhead wires... DBC
Jeppe have you ever considered to port subway surfers to 3ds? seeing as its so popular it would work well for handheld to or even as a arcade game on xbox and ps3, just a question
Nice catch Adams Immersive. So that's what that is. I could swear I was clearing the overpass yet I kept slamming into something and getting the guard on my ass after swiping sideways. @DBC: Glad the shorter runs are working for you as well! I was forced to restore my phone last night so now I'm back to zero, haha. @Jeppe: This is a rather minor graphical glitch; but Kim's sandals are poking from underneath the bouncy shoes everytime she equips them. At first I thought you had changed the design of the sole but when I changed character the shoes were back to normal.
Sync with Game Center Hi! I'm hoping someone can help. For some reason, Game Center on my iPad is not syncing with Subway Surfers. I played it last night with no issues. Logged in this morning and was starting over. But I can see my 'other' account in the 'friends' progress. HELP!
It's the ones that only have a single open lane, or else the left and right open but the middle blocked. In the Miami theme, they have a narrow "wooden post" construction, not as "fat and solid" as in the past. But that hitbox is still plenty fat and solid To me they currently look like boardwalks, with a railing on top and coin-up binoculars. Sometimes flamingoes (weekly hunt items) hide up there. Which reminds me... Has anyone gotten up on top of these places without Super Sneakers? The very first time I tried that, I succeeded (bumped the edge, got yelled at, but survived). This was in Tokyo (they kind of looked like rice paper buildings). I have never gotten it to work without Super Sneakers since! (Either way, you need to jump off the top of a train.) Maybe there's just a really tiny moment when it's possible.
@Adams: haven't been able to get up there without sneakers in this update. I would do it without the shoes all the time in the previous location.
^This,^ although I haven't tried it yet with this update... I'll take a few "leaps" and report back... DBC
Thanks for letting us know, you are not the first to report this. We are currently investigating the hitboxes, so you don't crash, when you are not supposed to.
We are carefully considering what platforms Subway Surfers should be available on. I can definitely see Subway Surfers work on 3DS, XBOX or PS3 but at the moment we do not have plans of including them. But you never know... it may happen someday
I've found that observing the overpass shadow is a pretty safe way to avoid slamming into it. Only swiping sideways after clearing the shadow. Hope it helps anyone having trouble in that section.
Jeppe: I dunno if this is on purpose, but my "Don't miss your Daily Challenge" notification is quite a few hours ahead of the actual countdown (it's always been that way actually, I just never got round to mentioning it until now). I got the notification around 5pm and I still have over 2 hours left on the timer (it's 7pm now).
