Hi guys, just to clarify. This was a deliberate reveal We had to do some limited live server testing in specific countries, before we could unveil the feature across the world. It's live now and I hope you enjoy it. Have a good one!
Still addicted to it though I have had Subway Surfers for ages but is anyone else getting annoyed with the Achievements problems? This is the second update I have had problems with and the Achievement of Alignment, I cannot get it despite doing a total of 7 missions in one run! Any ideas any one? What do I need to do? Thanks in advance Is there anything I am doing wrong?
I think they're pretty much like Temple Run's green gems. Exploitable. As a hardcore Subway Surfers player, I'd be lying if I didn't slightly regret the inclusion of keys (although I have to confess that in those occasions where I get a really high score I've desired a second chance). but I'm sure for the casual player (the majority) it's a blessing. In a personal leaderboard where I was among the top two high scores with 4.7 million, over the past few days nearly all my 30+ friends are close to my score (3 million, when before they had barely reached 1 million). Seeing as there is no remedy for the global leaderboards thanks to hackers and cheats; maybe a "No keys/No power ups/No coin doubler" gameplay modes might be in order? Each with their own leaderboards of course. That might help filter some of the players and the scores. And not just because of the hackers or the wealthy, but to level with the friends I want to compete against who don't use the coin doubler or keys.
^temple run 2 has separate leaderboards for gemmed runs and ungemmed runs. Plus, it limits it a little bit more by having cumulative requirements to keep on going.
That's a very interesting suggestion, didn't hear about that one before. Let me check up on that next week too see whether it's technically possible with our current code setup.
will the limited characters and boards from other themes be available for purchase anytime soon? i would like to buy them all would be better if instead of having to buy that limited each month you have to collect an certain amount of something like with the chicken hunt and when the month is over its only available through purchase
Yeah it seems like Alignment is still causing some problems. I've talked to one of our programmers, and he will take a look at it.
I'd imagine Norway's snowy mountains to be a cool and very cold stop on the World Tour, however right now the World Tour route is a secret Currently we haven't decided but there is definitely a chance the characters make a reappearance eventually - depending on the feedback!
I think it's a really interesting idea and you are not the first to suggest it. We are looking for possible solutions, but right now we are also trying to keep the app size to a minimum.
I think the new addition of keys is really lame and it makes the game easy as hell. With hoverboard cooldown being as low as 10 seconds (I think) and crashing with a hoverboard already makes you invulnerable for half of that duration, you are invincible more than 90% of the time already. And in the rare case you crash during hoverboard cooldown, you can now spend a key to continue running! Ugh... Also, with the "coin bug" fixed, it is now significantly harder to obtain Coins, and items are still very expensive. Are we supposed to be paying for IAP or grinding for months in an endless runner game only to get the useful upgrades (and even then there are a lot of cosmetic stuff to get)? I personally love endless runners, but the entertainment value of this game isn't quite enough for me to have fun for months of playing, and now, getting the 60k upgrades for me is just a chore. I'm personally fine with a 980k coin character, it requires either a lot of dedication or paying for IAP to unlock but it's just a cosmetic item, but seriously, over 350k just to get all powerup upgrades? That's way too much... I had a lot of fun getting to x30 multiplier and obtaining the 30k upgrades. It was an enjoyable experience. But now it is getting more and more repetitive, the graphical changes every 35 days are only good for a while, and then it's the same boring old grind again. Note that despite all the complaining above, I do think Subway Surfers is a really great game. I've played it a lot and have never broken my daily bonus streak. It's just that I think it can still be improved, mostly by raising the difficulty and reducing the cost of upgrades.
You don't say. It's the principle of the thing. I'm ok with performance enhancing equipment, because they still require a certain degree of skill to get the best out of them. But second, third, fourth and fifth chances kinda defeats the purpose. They're for the player that would rather take a bus to the finish line than run there. But from a financial standpoint I can understand the keys. Hardcore/skillful players are a minority, so Kiloo can't depend on them to bring in revenue. They rely on the casual, impulsive, impatient majority to cave in and buy what is needed to get to the top. Perhaps Subway Surfers is losing steam and not bringing in a favorable revenue despite the millions of downloads. The keys are a clear attempt to boost sales. I hope it helps.
Not only are Hardcore/skillful players the minority, but logically they're the least likely to purchase coins. A skillful player can make about 1k-5k per run, whereas the average casual player will only make about 500-1k per run. Hardcore players can easily afford the limited items each month, but the casual players will need to do some IAP or some major grinding to get them.
