Isn't that kind of an argument *for* the lower limit? Seems to be in my book. The GC leaderboards are not for the top players, as sad of a statement as that is about how Apple has set them up. The way they're set up, they wind up being for all of us somewhere in the middle. By having a score cap in SS that many players can reach legitimately, you know you're about as good as the devs intended and hackers are actually discouraged from flooding the board since 50,000K is as good as they can get even with cheating. So, they raise it to nearly 10 billion as you've suggested... 24 hours later the top 150-200 spots will be 9,999,999,999. I suppose players of your skill and epic patience will be able to see just how ridiculous of scores you can rack up with a stack of hover boards and a pot of coffee, but I'm still not sure what an accurate ranking of those scores is supposed to tell you - at that point all you're engaging in is the equivalent of a high end staring contest where whatever differences in scoring are seen is more random happenstance than a reflection of skill.
Which is why a No Hoverboard Best Distance leader board is needed, to actually reflect skill. I would love it if in a future update there was a new icon at the begininng of a run next to the Mega Head Start and Score Booster icons that showed a hover board with a "No symbol" over it, like this: By taping this icon at the beginning of a run you would be able to disable hoverboards for that run. By disabling hoverboards you wouldn't need to worry about accidentally using one and becoming ineligible for the No Hoverboard leader boards. I think that by giving the players those features we will have a leader board that actually measures player skill.
Yes, turning my internet on again fixed it(are apps allowed to update without asking for permission?) Thanks for the help, any hints as to where the next stop in the tour will be?
Games are not allowed to update without permission, but they can fetch contents over the internet. The daily challenge is updated daily online. Next stop in the tour is of course a secret , and an element of surprise.
Do you think they hint it on the daily challenge? Coz I could swear I collected ROME at some point during the Rio update. Of course I could be imagining things though.
Not sure about the next update, maybe some sort of April Fool's Day silly updape? But I am fairly certain that the one after the next one will probably be somewhere in Mexico for Cinco de Mayo. Also, come July, I wouldn't be surprised to be running through Washington D.C. or Philadelphia for Independence Day.
It's probably gonna be a holiday that more than a single country celebrates. Like Easter, Christmas and Halloween. Or a holiday native to the next region they decide upon. Unless they do like Angry Birds Seasons and do every official holiday on the planet. Or as an Easter egg they add a region based unlockable. Like Talking Carl app had a USA flag theme for US residents only for July 4th. That was a nice touch.
anybody else experiencing problems with game center? achievements stuck up to 99% but wont unlock. I didnt get score in table for today. when I tap on GC icon in settings, the game will freeze
I collected RIO during New York update as well. Maybe they will hint it this time too, directly or indirectly.. That's not what I mean. I meant adding it as an extra leaderboard (and an extra stat in the final screen), not removing the current scoring system to replace it with this. Like, for example, when I just want a quick "competition" with my IRL friends and they happen to not have Subway Surfers on their current phone and have to start playing it from scratch at x1 multiplier, or haven't reached x30 yet, it's really hard to compare. We ended up agreeing to use "duration" instead (by starting the run at the same time and never pause). Coins collected is probably possible too, but not sure how accurate it is because it's more powerup-dependent than duration. Think "Temple Run". They display both score and distance in the game over screen, where score is affected by multiplier and distance isn't. I'm sure most people would still prefer to compare score instead of distance, but the distance stat is handy at times. One of my friends hit 3 million with a x9 multiplier (he doesn't play much). At this rate he's gonna beat my score before reaching x30. Maybe he's just used to this kind of runner games. On a side note: Some of my real life friends are apparently not "intelligent" enough to understand the multiplier system, and seeing my high scores makes them really discouraged to continue playing >_> They end up quitting after x3 or so, despite liking the game.
The achievements have been causing trouble for some time now unfortunately. I've talked to the team and we have a developer looking at it currently, hopefully everything should be fixed when we reach the next destination on the world tour!
Haven't found any hints yet. But I'm guessing next update is Ireland. Some St. Patrick's Day themed content. Hopefully a redhead female character. Hot or cold Jeppe?
Was it you that was requesting a redheaded female character in a game before? And was it SS? If it's ever going to happen, SPD would certainly be the most obvious time to do it! DBC
hey im having trouble with the daily challenge, when ever its a new day and im gonna do the 750 coins challenge i reverts back to day one, meaning theres something wrong with the daily challenge, it doesnt let me play anything then the day one challenge
A qualified guess, but I would have to say cold. However, the next stop is definitely not further to the north
Except that there are still 23 days left to buy Roberto, which would take us well past St. Pat's. I'm just hoping for female characters in general.
Good point. Hmmm... Well, checking my calendar, the next possibilities are Tax Day and Earth Day... possibly a bohemian dread-lock girl? DBC
I'm sorry to hear that, please contact [email protected], they should be able to help you with this specific issue.
