Wow, you guys are having problems with the swipe controls? I must say, having played TR and other runners, I've never seen controls this responsive! Frankly, I bailed on TR pretty early on because of the (perceived lack of) control sensitivity. Go figure, right? For me, the big issue was learning to swipe down to end jumps earlier (especially when "running trains"), but idk, maybe it's a hardware thing? I'm on an iPhone 4 running IOS 5 and the control is flawless. Edit: Forgot to add, I agree with you totally on the lag issues. One thing I've found helpful is to play a few "throw-away" games while GC is connecting. If you can't see your friends list, you're not ready. Another lag issue for me happens when I get a notification, which drives me bananas, but if I'm really concerned (trying to complete a mission, going for score, etc.), I just turn notifications off before I play. From what I understand, Kiloo is aware of the lag stuff and is working on it! DBC
So I hit 30x today... No more missions? Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! What? Too many o's? As an aside, would some of the better players care to share some tips for getting closer to some of the higher scores? I've barely broken 300,000, so I've got some ground to cover! How are people cracking 1,000,000? 2,000,000? DBC
im glad they are fixing the issues and hopefully they will add more content bc this is really one of my fave games
One of the reasons why i kinda didnt like playing this too much is the leaderboards. You can reach 2M if you have a lot of Hoverboards. activate one when one wears out. Made the leaderboards broken by IAP. I hope they put a limit to the number of hoverboards you can use in one game.
You know, you raise an interesting question for me. I've always considered purchases made with in-game cash fair game as far as scores go, but if I've got to spam hoverboards to reach high scores, I'm honestly not even interested... My 300,000+ might be comparatively pathetic, but it's hoverboard-free... DBC
How do I unlock these other characters in the game? From what I can tell you have to get these character tokens by having friends play it but is there other ways besides that and IAP?
You need Mystery Boxes. You can find them during gameplay or purchase them in the shop with coins you've earned. They cost 500 each. It's random loot contained in them. Mystery boxes can give you extra coins, character tokens, headstarts and hoverboards. Wow, so that's what's happening! I had no idea you could use more than one hoverboard per game. No wonder my friend would surpass my score threefold everytime I bragged about my high score! I knew he couldn't be THAT good. xD
Yeah Hoverboard abuse seem to have killed the game for me. There is a cooldown in between Hoverboard uses, but it's like between 5 or 10 seconds then you can hoverboard again.
Ah well. I don't see how limiting the use of hoverboards per game will fix anything though. The damage is done and noone will beat whoever has a gazillion bajillion million and currently holding first place. Unless they wanna hoverboard their way into 1st place, where he alone will be proud of it, and the rest of the world will have him labeled as a big ol' cheat. It's really a matter of wanting to play fair against friends now. Sadly, worldwide leaderboards will always be filled with cheaters and hackers no matter what game it is. I think letting the devs work on awesome new updates with new tracks, outfits, characters and bug fixes rather than trying to have them wrangle the cheat beast on the leaderboards is the best decision. There's no way to win that battle.
I reported the unresponsive controll issue way back in beta, so not surprised in the slightest that people are complaining about some devices not working with swipes some times. I guess it's more about the IAP, still that's not too unusual for a game like this.
On game center, why there are two players who score exactly 30,000,000. Is this possible for some kind of score limit or it is simply a cheat?
Don't know if it's a genuine cheat, and I tend to be very careful lobbing those words around publicly, but if the scores are genuine, that's a lot of hoverboards... DBC
Kinda makes the highest scores seem a little, idk, silly imho. I guess you could stock up on 5,000 HBs, call out from work for a couple days, leave your device plugged in, and just keep spamming HBs. Not really my idea of fun, but for some simply being on the Leaderboards is more important than actually playing a game well, as evidenced by the rampant hacking/cheating of many IOS titles' games and Leaderboards... Meh, I still enjoy the game, and I'm itching for new missions! DBC
I'v encountered a few glitches with this build and one of them will make you fall through a bridge after the large head start if the bridge is under you when you land, after that the screen goes sky blue and the score goes up and up without you needing to do anything. I could not get my dude to crash, I wonder if I let it run for a few hours if he would max out the score then die? Also, if you open your mystery boxs with a three finger touch, one finger in each top corner, and your thumb on the bottom you will get two or three items at a time After that just collect hoverboards and money, then climb the leaderboards via spamming hoverboards. It's not easy even with hover boards, things get quick and hover boards have a few second cool down. I guess it's cheating? Kind of, I'm not jailbroken or hacking, just playing the game like any else can
FWIW, I for one don't think it's cheating based on the spirit of both the word and gameplay in general. Quite simply, if it's possible based on what's offered in normal gameplay (hoverboards) then it's legit, right? Now, the "falling through the bridge" thing? DBC
Ugh. I'm feeling like I've used this game up already... I have zero interest in spamming HBs to go for scores that are 10 times my current (zero hoverboard) max, and I have no other reason to play it. I was playing for Mystery Boxes, but I'm averaging 1 drop in 10 100,000-200,000 point runs, so I've kind of given up on even that... Has anyone maxed out the Bouncy Shoes? Any reason to do so? Kiloo! In fact I know the mystery box bug, I get more than 500 hoverboards by that. I'm one of the top 50 on the leaderboard. there are about 10 seconds to cool down and it is not easy to use one hoverboard after another.Beside you need to play 6 hours to score more than 30,000,000 points and having exactly 30,000,000 is very unusual That is why I don't think it is possible.
