Don't get discouraged Drummer. I agree the game lacks an expansion on the tutorial. I too stumbled to figure it out the first times I played it. The learning curve had a bit of a bump to it. I already unlocked Tricky and I'm halfway into Fresh without making a single IAP. Same goes for the power ups. My multiplier is x18, some challenges earned, some bought. Granted some challenges are very tricky and sometimes frustrating, but far from impossible. You can always buy a skip.

I'm not too crazy bout IAPs, especially when they force you into them to pass levels. But I find the IAPs in SS to be quite balanced. They are there for the people not willing to put a little extra effort in the game. They certainly don't hinder the game.

Hope I covered everything I had to say; took me like 3 hours to type this on my phone. xD

    Cheers.

Thanks for the post, and I'm sure as soon as "someone" (;)) writes a walkthrough, all will be answered for me. lol

On an important side note, I need to be very clear about this, because Kiloo and other potential customers, including those who are severely IAP-averse, read these posts...

I have said this repeatedly (just read my earlier posts;)), and I thought clearly in this and other threads related to Kiloo's products, and I will say it again.

Kiloo uses IAPs in the fairest, most user-friendly, reasonable way I have ever experienced in the IOS community.

My earlier comments relate to In-Game Money, earned by simply playing the game.

I was commenting on wishing I could do missions without using In-Game Money, money that is earned by simply playing the game. I was hoping that I could complete all objectives by playing the game. My comments did not refer to "True IAPs," or IAPs using real world money.

    Thanks for reading,

    DBC

What's the stink about? I don't get it?

No real money is needed for this game, just play it and you will get coins, coins but things in the store. Some needed to pass a set of objectives, like buying and using a head start. If you "WANT" to support the dev you can buy "coins" via real money. No real money "has" to be spent, no one cent!

Most likely you will "want" to support the dev for all the fun your having once this game sets it's hooks into you! :D

This is the way freemium should be, make a great game and people will support you!

As for the multiplier, just complete the objectives and it goes up one for every set you complete. Yes it stays, that how people are getting the higher scores. :)

I'm kind of hoping there isn't a "stink," hence my post directly above yours...^

Regarding the developer part of your post, I couldn't agree with you more, and I'd love to see more of this (in both directions).

Regarding multiplier, that is great news! I just finished my latest missions (Yes, I bought the boxes. lol), and my multiplier went from 3 to 4, so I think I might have imagined the 11...

    Hi Drummerboycroy,

Your base multiplier should most certainly not diminish. Often you'll get a 2x Multiplier powerup in the game that temporarily doubles your current multiplier, but otherwise your multiplier increases by completing a set of missions.

Let me know if you have any extra questions, it was night here in Denmark, but I see that everyone gave you a lot of great answers.

Looks like we should try to be more thorough in our tutorials going forward. Definitely appreciate the feedback.

Thanks for the reply, as always, you guys are awesome...

After a sustained period of playing (I'm on vacation!), here's what I've learned:

    1. The missions are the tutorial.

    2. The Bouncy Shoes are much more useful than I gave them credit for.:)

    3. My multiplier does not diminish.

    4. Subway Surfers gets more addictive as you play it.

    5. Skipping missions does not make you less of a man.:p

    6. I'm still an idiot.

    That is all.:D

Endless runners (or endless anything. Except for an endless randomized open world RPG with sophisticated twitch-based combat and an acrobatic movement scheme, so if any devs feel up to THAT challenge, here is someone who will buy yer game. The only one, possibly ;)) really aren't my idea of time well spent, but I must say that Subway Surfers is kind of an exception, and the best of its kind (apart from the brilliant Don't Run With A Plasma Sword, but that game transcends genres ;) ).

Kiloo might just be the true masters of freemium for iOS. Just like in Bullet Time, the IAP really are optional, in every sense of the word, progression is unusually fast for a game that hopes to entice players to spend real world money, and the game is, in many ways, of premium quality.

Good job Kiloo! Way to make yet another amazing game!:D

Man, this is a really polished runnner! IAPs aren't too intruding, either!

Thanks for the kind words guys! An update for Subway Surfers will be along shortly.

We're also thrilled about the Toucharcade review, we wouldn't have gotten it without our amazing players.

    Hate cheaters

I like the game so much but why the dev don't do anything to the cheters on Game center. I'm sure those who score more than 20 million are cheater  Your game server can't detect this?

Really do need an update.. Itouch 4th gen.. And it keeps crashing.. Can't even open multitasking bar to change a song without causing a crash.. Massive lag even when changing volume =\ i love your guys' work, so I'm sure this'll be fixed soon. (still waiting on that bullet time update too ;))

So far it's a love hate with this. Great game, and perhaps it's just me or my phone, I haven't viewed the responses here -- but my swipe controls are way too unresponsive to even begin to enjoy the game.

With Temple Run, I often feel about 1 out 10 games end because it was unresponsive to one of my swipes -- very frustrating. So far with Subway Surfer I feel about 9 out of 10 games end because it's unresponsive to my swipe. That's a really terrible rate.

I'd love to see the developers offer an option that's touch based as well. Touch the left side of the screen to move left, top of the screen to jump, etc.

Its really sad. All my friends have this game and they all complain about the same thing, SWIPING UP NEVER EXECUTES A JUMP ESPECIALLY WHEN JUMPING FROM TRAIN TO TRAIN

It is such a shame that the type of touch controls (at least for certain commands) are not given as an option.

This unresponsiveness really keeps this game from becoming a classic
