Yeah, I have watched your video a couple of times and this game is looking really solid, I have to add. Kudos for doing it all yourself. Amazing work so far.
Awesome! I posted the news and your interview on my gaming industry mailing list today. Can t wait for the game! iTunes should start doing pre-sales.
Are there any bosses, like large hovering warships that you can fly around and shoot at? How large are the arenas anyway? Any Open Feint/ Plus+ ?
Hello! The arenas themselves are small - they are cramped in order to enforce tight fighting - in gameplay tests when the level was too large it was difficult to keep the "pace" of the game, and it became too "wandery". I wanted the game to be always action filled! I had wanted to do massive bosses (trust me- they got pretty weird - Giant Squid etc) but I don't think I have resources to do that yet. It will definitely be in a later installment (if anyone buys the first of course). Personally - I think it is packing a lot of game already - and I just want to let you guys play it!! ++Excite
I'm sure this will sell. It's very well polished and looks like fun. If websites give you good reviews will bring it into the Top 100, and word of mouth will take it from there. Do you eventually plan to release the game onto other platforms, such as PSP Minis, PSN and XBLA, once it sells? Is there any real storyline or just gameplay? Any Open Feint/ Plus+ ?
Thanks Arta - I value all support If it sells well I plan to bring it to PSP - I think it is a *perfect* fit. I'm keeping clear of XBLA for now at least because I know the console well, and if I play on that then I won't be able to resist and will go full out AAA NextGen Shader-tastic and the game will take 10 years to finish! (I was Graphics Man on Fable 1&2). No storyline yet - but again - if it sells well as I hope it will - I want to expand the universe and make it more like the Parodius/Treasure games (or even Goeman Mystical Ninja on SNES - that kinda vibe), with crazy characters + story - but all for FUN. The version released will save hiscores + times locally. I will add an update to the App to include "some online store". I want to have a proper tech review of OpenFeint or even my own Google App Engine store first before doing that part. The game needs to sell well - theres only so long I can work in this environment before I go mad!! ( ;__; )
The trailer was very well made and is only the second trailer that has convinced me to actually go out and purchase a game (even though this one is not released yet!). That other game? 10 balls 7 cups.
Are you still on track for submission late October/ early November? Do you have plans on making other types of games with this level of polish?
That last shot in the vid of the plane crashing into the ship TOTALLY reminds me of Two Tigers, one of my favorite arcade games.
Great news. Soosiz came out so you're the indie dev up next to wow us with their first iPhone project. Any estimated submission date?
Are you composing the music for this game? If so, are you following the classical midi style in the trailer or something else?
Hi guys! Sorry for slow updates - I'm actually in Seattle visiting friends- this was a prebooked holiday from a while back, so its kinda stuffed the schedule slightly - but still coding! The music is going to be midi style stuff - classical music so its not copyrighted and free for use. Currently I am fixing bugs and balancing the gameplay -this part is HARD and LONG But its still on schedule for the end of october/mid november submission date, and then it will be sent for review and then it'll come live whenever it suceeds submission Thanks for the support guys - Mini Squadron will be finished or i'll die trying!!!
