Provided you have at least ok weapons already, and either already enough money to upgrade the Supernova a bit or don't mind grinding a little to get it, go for the ship first. However, if you have enough crates to upgrade the Singularity at least once or twice, go for that first. At that point in the game, it really doesn't matter much anymore.
ok the update 1.04 should be out now: - Gameplay settings now accessible from Hangar - Gear crates count required for weapons upgrade reduced a bit - Tweaked craftable ship's params (shields and acceleration increased) - Exploration locations for SS-Vertex and Tornado-X become available earlier - Fixed audio bug: Background music won't stop when opening game now
Well I can't beat first boss. I'm experiencing handling and targeting problems, wich never was an issue in GoF2, 3. It's frustrating.
Only shoot him when he has his back to you, that thrust away and come behind him. It's a waiting game. Do not face him head on.
thank you for advising! judt now i've beaten that boss i bought stronger equipment and it was usefull price was 13000 lv4 or higher
any chance for an endless level (increasing difficulty of enemies per wave/random area) + new ships/weapons?
Yep I have the same problem. I've found that taking my thumb off the controls after centering helps. Basically I keep touching, moving, and releasing. Not ideal, but otherwise yeah always overcompensating. On another note, anyone notice that after you hit the battleships, they become invulnerable for about ten seconds? Shots seem to just go right through them. Makes them infuriatingly hard to kill.
@Artfoundry & @Havelcek: That sensitivity control issue you two have is a bit odd. What device(s) are you playing on? I'm on an Air1, and never had any issues. I lowered the sensitivity to ~75%, as I prefer less twitchy controls, but that's about it. With Battleships do you mean the larger craft that show up e.g. as "elite opponent" in the first area's Hunt? If yes, I never noticed that they go invulnerable.
@JoshCM: Seconding Xcxc's request for endless levels. The current time-limit on the Hunts is just too short. At least for the later ones, I'd suggest upping it to at least 2.5 minutes, maybe even 5 minutes. Also, it would be nice if in Hunts the big special opponents have a different HUD indicator, to make it easier to find them. Last for now, it would be fun if we can replay missions we won already. I don't see any reason to lock them away once you cleared them. Also, unrelated: I found a bug in Stellar Wanderer, see here: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?p=4015154#post4015154 . As I'm not sure if you still watch that thread, I drop it here too
This game has everything I would have loved to see in gof2, and even more. One of the best game of this year so far, and the best space shooter in AppStore for sure. It has the potential to become even better, if Devs will add content as time goes by (even as paid dlc or increasing the game overall price with each update). Thanks you for (still) making high quality premium games, CMG! Especially in a genre like this, so easy to ruin with FTP c$@p. I hope this game will do great for you in terms of revenue, because frankly you're one of the few Devs out there looking to see your players happy more than anything else.
I would love to hear you explain why the option to use tilt controls would ruin the game. I played Galaxy on Fire 2 entirely like that, as well as other games, including Crescent Moon's Stellar Wanderer.
