Yep, it will be. Probably somewhere between $5 and $10 as a one time purchase. No in-apps or anything. I'm working on the intro story scene and team select screens now. It's looking pretty good so far.
Thanks guys, Finished the first draft of the character / team selection screen. The screen / GUI has a lot of movement and stuff. Menu's pop up dynamically and so on. Looks very stylish. Forgot to mention that I added a set of rotate buttons that allow you to rotate the characters however you like to see from all angles.
Looking really classy, though I think a bit too "busy" with the background. A less detailed background would make the character and character icons stand out a bit clearer imho.
Good point ... I may just stick a depth of field effect on the camera that would make the background less focussed and blurry. Will try it out.
This is the only game I'm really keeping an eye on. But so much disappointment in the past with games not being released or coming out freemium instead, i always just hold my breath. This looks great though. Dont be afraid to go with $10
Hey ... sorry for the late reply. I was travelling in the US yesterday and had limited access. Yeah, the game is planned as a premium. Probably will be around $10. Development is going well. Once I finished the UI enhancements, I'll be getting into the level building, which is usually a fast, iterative process. If you want to get a feel for how this game will play, I'd recommend trying out my other games ... Demon's Rise and Demon's Rise 2. They're not exactly the same since Strike Team is more action-point based and has a lot of elements more relevant to firefights but it'll give you a preview. Also, it'll help support work for Strike Team.
Thanks for answering my question. May I ask if this game has it's own storyline or just a mission-based game? Hoping it's a good SRPG! Good luck!
It's very storyline focussed. The story is basically that your ship is responding to a distress call from a battleship that is the last survivor of an engagement with an alien fleet. It's been disabled and while the alien ships have been destroyed, the battleship is being overrun with alien boarding parties. You basically lead the strike team to help repel these borders. It will be a series of intense battles, some key choices to be made and very objective-focussed as you try to prevent the aliens from destroying or taking over the battleship.
Working on both games simultaneously. Might not be smart but I find that when I'm doing builds, I'm not able to do anything on that project so switching to the other project is helpful. We'll see how it goes.
Did some work today on it. I made the first drafts of the first 4 campaign levels. Here's a picture from campaign level 4: Strike Team WIP by Rajpreet Dhillon, on Flickr You can see that the theme for this game is more tight corridors and multiple lines of sight. There are entry points for enemies in multiple places so players will have to keep looking in different directions to avoid being ambushed.
No, there's no black outline effect like in borderlands. Graphics are realistic ... Similar to demon's rise.
Here's today's progress shot. This is from mission 6 of the campaign. It involves rescuing a chief engineer who is surrounding by aliens. Strike Team WIP 2 by Rajpreet Dhillon, on Flickr
