Really, REALLY getting tired of people wasting time to post one-offs saying nothing more than a game is "too expensive..."

Seriously? That's all you have to say? That's your "contribution" to the discussion? Sincere apologies to the developer.

    Unbelievable.

Well, I rather see it as a challenge to make the game even better so it's "worth" 4 bucks to everyone that sees it :) At least they are voicing an interest and I'm forced to think of other ways to convince them than simply lowering the price.. so all good from my part.

... plus it has the nice side-effect that every such post pushes the app further upward in the "hot games" list ;)

Just beat the AI on easy after yesterday's walloping. I may venture online later now that I know what I'm doing. And then attempt to beat my kids again tonight.

Quick edit: local multiplier with different devices would be cool too.

That's an interesting idea I haven't really thought of. Should be relatively easy to do since I got all the game logic adapted for online play anyway. Any particular reason why you do choose to play each with your own device instead of using pass and play? I'm kind of trying to understand what the setup/situation is like...

*laughs* ... well, I'm not sooooo sure it's ethical for me to support that use case :)

Haha nice, sounds like the kind of thing I'd do with my daughters to hide from the wife.

Oooomonkey - I've found you in a turn by turn game.

Also - can't match with anyone in an online game. No big shakes it might be because no one is online but just in case there's a problem - was looking forward to get beaten online.

I wouldn't be surprised if it takes a couple of days before there are enough people to always have someone hanging around for a live match. I'm happy to play, would have time tomorrow... hmm, no idea what my official GameCenter account is, having used test accounts for the last year or so during development :)

I'm probably better honing my skills first, but I'll try for a live matchup tomorrow.
For some reason, both my boys love this - ages 7 and 11 - I really think that they like the unclutteredness of it. I for one also never thought I'd enjoy a football boardgame so proper well done.

After reading the devs comments, I picked this up and am having a blast. I love that the easy AI is a little girl. As you learn the game, you can continually crush her hopes and dreams. Sweet.

I've got no complaints here, it's definitely worth the cost. If you're interested in either soccer, board games or dice games, then just get it already. Quit your jibber jabber about 'price too high' fool!

Not sure what's wrong with the turn by turn online as I get a huge big error when trying to take a turn, saying invalid opponent.

It really needs push notifications for when it's your turn, I would think that's a normal thing with async online games.

Thanks for the bug report, that looks very weird and I cannot remember ever seeing that specific error. I'll have a closer look tomorrow (it's 2AM around here :) ). Concerning notifications, I'll recheck. I remember seeing them but might be that I only supported them for new invitations and I have to add something for when a new turn arrives. Shouldn't be much of a problem.

My plan was to do a bugfixing sessions tomorrow anyway and address all the little stuff people have given me as feedback, then send out a first bugfix update later on Sunday. So hopefully I should be able to solve those problems very quickly.

Beat the second easiest AI today. Couldn't find a match online though. Still loving it with my kids though - perfect wind down.

If you're quick, I'm hooked into GameCenter auto-match mode right now :)

By the way: What's the general opinion on chat for online gaming? I had that integrated at one point but had to temporarily remove it for the first release. Do you guys think a full chat (= text message) or just emoticon based chat is better? I kind of like the language-independent chat that Lost Cities uses where you can only use emoticons to express the situation... plus it avoids problems like language barrier, obscene stuff and so on...

I've still got that crashed game in my turn by turn log and can't find a way to remove it, if I try pressing the give up button the app shuts down??

About the chat thing, I'd say just smileys as I don't think its type type of thing where you need full chat anyway.

Probably the same problem as you send me. Game Center unfortunately is very weird/fragile ... I'll see to it that when I fix the original problem you'll be able to remove that one as well...

Just played online real time match and was absolutely fantastic. Lost in extra -time. On the chat thing although it may seem like a good idea I know that I may swear and thus offend someone of an unknown age. Some great football phrases would be good although if it's international then emoticons may be better. As long as it remains uncluttered. Great game, sir.
