They changed something for sure, some replays cannot play anymore, both characters just stand there doing nothing until timeout
Previous Rolento's combo: P+P+P+Patriot circle+P+K+K (not corner) cannot do it anymore!!! that's why the video crash if I did that combo in my replay... Only can do: P+P+P+Patriot circle+K+K in the latest version

What do you mean "that's all" this update is actually surprisingly nice. The messaging service runs smoothly and makes me feel like I'm actually playing against real people now, whereas in the past, matches felt largely impersonal. It definitely creates a much greater sense of community and has just pumped a lot of life back into this game. Is there a way to PM people? That would add much entertainment value, and I'd honestly prefer that to 2 more characters.

Nope. It's just an option in the main menu. After opening it, you can enter some chatrooms where you can talk with other players. It uses a service called nakamap.
